The Ark Of Mistress Of Kur: Ereshkigal

"They may do it without having a clear mind. Once they are on the battlefield, I expect no survivors to come out from that conflict. I will only summon them when I do not need any prisoners of war or a death sentence for the enemies."

"I don't want to have to use them, but I won't hesitate to activate them."

The Valkyrie's last words made the children back away in fear. Mavislin turned to look at the fearful kids' eyes and smiled.

"No worries, young ones. I won't be throwing anyone of you into an actual battle soon. But, if need be, I will place my life on the line to protect you all. I'd rather fight than to lose each child I've saved," confessed Mavislin as the children went closer to huddle around her.

Raiyen and Tomoe looked at each other and smiled. The Valkyrie truly meant it when she said she'd instead place her life on the line than watch innocent and weak ones fall. The both of them had witnessed such an act from the Valkyrie firsthand.

Meanwhile, Duncan slammed his foot into the ground, which dug into the earth. He then threw both wooden markers at Rina, who used her spear to block the oncoming weapons. The Flower Mage cursed as she felt the impact of both spears coming at once with such velocity and strength.

But the Spearman Pillar quickly amplified her power by concentrating all her body's Elemental Energy into her arms and deflecting the weapons. The two fighting Mages then closed the gap and entered a frenzy of clashes with red, green, and pink sparks.

None of them blinked as they continued to deflect each other's weapons while staying at the same spot for a few solid moments. But Duncan has had it with the battle going longer without an end, so he decided to call forth another Frame.

This time, the landscape would change drastically along with Duncan's power. If the Frames before weren't strong enough, this particular Frame might be the one that takes Rina down for the count. Oddly enough, it felt more substantial than the first attack, the Final Frame.

"She who governs the workers of the Underworld, Kur. She is the mistress of the Underworld. She represents the death of all humans in which she becomes the 'Terrible Earth Mother.' Goddess Of The Underworld; show them your wrath!" shouted Duncan.

The wooden markers appeared behind his back and shot towards the circumference of the arena. This time, the Sotobas did not have the inscriptions of the Knights' names anymore. Instead, they had foreign characters that even Mavislin nor Raiyen could understand.

The weapons emitted a cool purple light as they plunged into the dirt, making the ground turn from brown to black. Rina tried to stop the kid but was blown back by another shockwave of power. The children shivered as they felt Duncan's Elemental Energy levels spike again.

Raiyen and Tomoe were shocked as they pushed themselves upwards to better view the battle.

"Is that what I think it is? If so, how could a kid like him bear the power of a Goddess, let alone that Mistress Of Kur?! And since when do they have the power to call upon the deities? I thought Midori using Mordred as a backup plan was bad enough," asked Raiyen, as he turned to question Mavislin.

"Don't look at me... I have no clue why the kids have these random spells and powers. However, what I can tell you is that in no way, shape, or form that these spells of Duncan's could match up against the Founders. So I'd say it's alright," explained Mavislin, shrugging.

"This power he may be showing off isn't enough to upset a Founder, but this spell might kill Rina! Are you not aware of Mesopotamia Mythos?" asked Tomoe, shocked that Mavislin remained calm.

"I don't recall much about it, but I did help fight against a copy of the Primordial Goddess of the Sea from Babylonian legends. Does that count?" asked Mavislin, recalling the primary fight during the Umbra Mission.

Though she wasn't there to go up against Tiamat during that time, Mavislin did help Z out by channeling part of her Elemental Energy to secure victory in that battle.

"Well, for your information and the benefit of the poor girl down there, Duncan called upon the Mistress Of Babylonia's Underworld, otherwise known as Ereshkigal Of Kur. That Goddess's power over the authority knows no bounds regarding the Underworld."

"Essentially, what Duncan was calling forth was the authority of Ereshkigal to turn the arena into the Underworld. And if Rina dies in that pit, no one can heal her as she would be part of the Underworld forever. Her soul would belong to Ereshkigal since that arena is now her Domain."
