After all, Gillian was only a single man with a single mind. There was only so far that he could come up with, and he needed a team to help him create more spells that could benefit the rest of the community. And the best creation he came across was the binding spell.
A spell that could conjoin two other spells together, or a spell that was bounded to an item. But that posed another problem. With the way Gillian's powers worked, the spell could not be active if the Aki wasn't present to activate the spell. But it was his wife that solved that problem.
It was a solution that seemed so literal that worked. Gillian needed to inscribe the spell needed onto the item, and it was good to go under any circumstance. As for the binding spell itself, the words are mixed into the spell's wordings.
As a curious note, Gillian recently asked how the Time Mage moved around without being seen. Gillian understood it was him hopping through the spaces of Time Frames to give the illusion to the enemy that Raiyen was invisible. However, Raiyen quickly debunked that theory.
"Being a Time Mage allows my body and core to enter through Time without any side effects. My invisibility is my movement through the Time Frames themselves, not between them. The spaces amid the Time Frame are called the Void, and no one can enter it."
"The Time Frames I hope through are the Time Frames that aren't in the present. Either in the past or future, so with a normal pair of eyes, you can't see me. But once I stopped moving, I would appear again," explained Raiyen to Gillian as he experimented on some items.
"Then can you freeze Time Frames?' asked Gillian, suddenly getting an idea.
"I can take a Time Frame out from a Time Reel, a set of Time Frames creating an event. But I can't freeze Time itself; that would be overpowered. So I think what you are looking for is a Time Pocket, a moment in Time frozen in suspended animation."
"But do keep in mind that within the Time Pocket, nothing can move. They'll be frozen in that Pocket forever, and for those who are not Time Mages, creating a Time Pocket would be plausible if you are only keeping a single item inside. A full person might be in the realm of impossible."
"I understand. I plan to create something using an everyday item so it won't raise suspicion. I would love to know how that spell is made," said the Headmaster.
The Time Boy blinked several times in confusion before nodding his head. Raiyen had no choice but to oblige at the request without further words, and Gillian created the item to capture small items like weapons or trinkets. But never an item as important and influential as an Elemental Core.
"In simple terms, use this item on the Iron Canine when you've defeated him. I need you to trap his Elemental Core into this and bring it back to me at once. So yes, it's a bit like catching mice. You think you can do that?" asked the Headmaster, pointing at the muzzle.
"Of course, I can, Headmaster Gillian. I will bring back the Iron Canine's Elemental Core for you. Now, if you'd excuse me, I will be returning to my quarters to pack," said Baldwin, bowing down and walking away from the office.
Gillian waited until the Angry Man left before he walked over to his chair to sit. The Headmaster sighed heavily before looking out the stained-glass window and the forest. He placed a palm onto the window and muttered a spell to send a Familiar to see what the two kids were doing.
The Headmaster's eyes widened as he realized the Time Mage and the Valkyrie would complete the Orphanage project. He wanted to show his wife, but that lady needed her sleep, or the Old Chapel would topple.
"Kids these days... Are they that impatient?" laughed Gillian as he witnessed the Time Boy shouting out the spell.
The giant ray of light emitted from Raiyen's body blinded the spying Familiar. But after the light died down, Gillian was impressed at what the children of the Old Chapel had accomplished. The Headmaster stood up and recalled the Familiar as he awaited the official news.
As for Baldwin, the Angry Man felt his heart jump from his chest to his throat when Tomoe appeared by his doorway.
"You know, you should get the habit of keeping your doors closed, Baldwin," greeted Tomoe.
"And you should learn not to scare people in the middle of the night. But, unfortunately, I'm a bit busy here, so I can't give you my ears for your relentless complaints about Raiyen," argued Baldwin, wiping his blade.
