The Ark Of Rest Before Dawn

"I'm not going to give you a headache. Rather, I overheard your conversation with the Headmaster about facing your foe with metallic weaponry. It took me some digging, but I found this old thing," said the Kitsune, drawing a wooden sword.

Tomoe handed the wooden weapon to Baldwin as the Head Knight looked confused.

"The guy's a Metal Mage, so anything with metal used against him would be useless. But no one said other materials couldn't work. However, this thing is carved from oak, with no other metal needed to reinforce the thing. This one, in particular, was my first proper sword and success."

"Unfortunately, I do not need it anymore since I got many other useful items in my stash, and it's collecting dust. It's called a Bokken and is used for training the art of Japanese swordsmanship. If you got enhancement abilities, this thing could do damage."

"Normally, it isn't supposed to be sharp since we would use it against our mates to practice the moves, but getting hit by this heavy thing can leave marks. So use it wisely, and you can keep it," explained Tomoe.

The Angry Man was caught off guard by how heavy the Bokken was and quickly used both hands to support the heavy weapon. He then stood up and tried swinging it forward. Baldwin seemed amazed at the weight of the swing as the cut made by the heavy weapon was audible.

"If you hit someone's head with that force, you might split the melon open. So this particular Bokken fits you. It's based on a Tachi, a long blade within Japanese history. I figured you liked using long blades, so this would be easier for you to adapt. Good luck with the fight," said Tomoe.

The Kitsune vanished without waiting for the Angry Man's response. Baldwin glanced at the sword before shrugging and finding a good belt for the heavy blade. But the Angry Man felt uneasy at how Tomoe seemed so... Generous with his weapons.

After all, Tomoe mentioned that the wooden sword was entirely hand-carved by him... So why would he just give it away? But the Dark Mage shook those thoughts away as he finished packing his stuff for the task. Then, he felt a fluctuation of power from outside of the Old Chapel.

Baldwin could hardly breathe as he was reminded of that known Aura.

"How... Is that even possible?! I thought the entire race was gone!" yelled Baldwin, clenching his chest.

Luckily, it only lasted for a brief moment. After that, the Angry Man could finally catch his breath as he wolfed down big gulps of air. He then looked towards his window and cursed.

"I hate that Time Mage... One day, I'm going to scold him for taking up the title when it had been abandoned for a long time. Over a few hundred years without a proper Time Master for the planet, and now this kid wants to claim the title?! I mean, there's a reason why the place was vacant."

"How obnoxious of him..."

Baldwin was disgusted as flashes of the last Time Master fighting against him. For some odd reason, Dark Mages and Time Mages did not go well together in this realm. But the Angry Man was impressed with how far the Time Mage had gone in terms of power levels.

In no time, he would surpass most of the seniors. But first, he'll have to win the Valkyrie. But the duties of a Time Master are more than just having to master the Time Element. It's about monitoring the planet's Time Reel or events in history.

To make sure that no anomalies can occur. And a job like that could end up swallowing him whole especially since he has got a girlfriend to be with. Baldwin slumped onto his bed with a groan and another curse before drifting off to sleep for the next few hours.

Back to Mordred and Mavislin, the night sky had so many stars... The scene reminded the Knight of the times that they had to make travels, and she found herself staring into the night sky to fall asleep. Mavislin smiled at Mordred's reaction to the majestic scene and sprouted her wings.

The Valkyrie's wings were bright aquamarine that looked shimmering as she took up to the skies. Mavislin held the child's waist and lifted her, much to Mordred's shock and terror.

"It'll be only for a few moments, so hang tight!" shouted Mavislin before launching herself to fly after her boyfriend.

Mordred nearly cried out as Mavislin tunneled through the night skies at monstrous speeds. But once they reached their destination, Mavislin released Mordred from her grasp while hovering above an open ground. Mordred landed with ease before looking at the building before her.
