"Nope, the dreams of the five children sleeping under the same roof as me are fueling today's Elemental Energy. Plus, it would appear that Gillian has been in the office tinkering with a new item and has been a beacon of light for me," replied Mavislin, sitting down beside Duncan.
"I can't wait for his new creation. Though that guy may not be down on the field with us, he still tries his best to make weaponry or items to help us in difficult situations. Without him, there wouldn't be the Signal Crystals or the Map Crystals."
"And I'm looking forward to the current creation since Raiyen said it would be quite powerful and useful for our tasks," answered Z, with a big smile.
Clement greeted the Valkyrie and handed her some toast, eggs, and slices of bacon. A hearty breakfast to start a new day of whatever needs to be done.
"What do you mean by 'owe me an explanation?" asked Duncan, confused at the Valkyrie.
"Like I said yesterday, I thought Midori would master the Blood Mastery better than all five of you but looking at yesterday's battle, and I made a grave mistake. So listen, today's lesson would be having every child against each other so you can pay close attention."
"You will find that the rest of the kids use their Blood Mastery different from you. You have more control over your blood than the rest, and you can see it when they attempt to call out their Blood Mastery. The most striking fact is that they have to bleed to activate their Blood Mastery."
Duncan stopped chewing and glanced up at Mavislin with a confused look.
"But I've always thought I was the weakest in my Blood Mastery amongst the five of us since I can't do all those tricks that the rest could do. For example, Circe can cause flames to erupt from the splashes of her blood. Amani, with his Blood Mastery, can create ice and weaponry."
"My sister's Jade Blood Mastery causes plants to grow out of drops of her blood. Even Nasima has a powerful Blood Mastery that can emit a powerful strength of winds from where her blood has touched. That trick is stronger than the Zephyr Basic Spells."
"If Nasima was turned into a killer, she could blow a hole into a human's heart by having some blood droplets on the poor person. Meanwhile, I use the Blood Mastery as a defense spell and enhance my strength from within. I can't do direct damage, so I don't see how I'm a Master of it."
Duncan blurted everything out to the Valkyrie, who was busy helping the child cut his bacon. Mavislin then smiled at the little boy before shaking her head.
"I didn't say that you are a Master of the Blood Mastery. I'd told you were better at controlling your blood's uses than the rest of the children. Do you want to know what happens when you entirely become a Blood Master? Controlling your blood would result in the Element Of Blood."
"Once you've trained enough with the Blood Mastery, you'll find that making of weapons and damaging the surroundings are the least exciting aspects of the power. I am a Valkyrie, a Light Element being, but I can use other Elements if I've seen it before."
"And I can blend other Elements since I was born with the skill, Amalgamation Of Elements. In other words, 'Fusion Of Elements.' I knew of another Valkyrie who could use the Blood Element, and she was a good friend of mine. Based on that memory, I invented the Blood Mastery."
Now, Duncan was gaining some form of emotion as he looked at Mavislin with eyes filled with wonder and hope. Bryan had never known the child could have such feelings since he always looked so... Empty inside. As for the Galaxian Mage, Z moved away from Duncan.
"Mother Mavislin, please do tell me what the Blood Element does. I am very interested in it," begged Duncan, tugging on Mavislin's sleeve.
The Valkyrie closed her eyes as she pretended to recall her memories of that particular Valkyrie. Mavislin then opened her eyes and pointed at Duncan.
"If you finish your plate now, I think I can remember what were the cool tricks that the Blood Element can produce," said Mavislin, grinning.
Duncan quickly tried to gobble up his breakfast, much to the amusement of Bryan and Z. As Duncan finished his milk, Mavislin smiled at the young boy as she heard the tiny footsteps of the children.
The Valkyrie waited for the prime moment that Rina and all the other children came strolling right into the room. Duncan sighed and seemed disinterested again as his twin sat beside him. Midori seemed energetic despite yesterday's events.
