"That's for the boy to deal with, none of my problem. I don't want any more strangers in this house. A thousand orphans are enough for me. The Old Chapel will freak out if we let a hundred Time Mages in here. Have you ever seen a house freak out before?" asked Z, raising his eyebrows.
"No, and I don't think I would like to see that happening. But being a Time Master while being in the Arks... Isn't that too much of a job to handle?"
"When that Time Boy wakes up, you can question him. But, for now, you should focus on the upcoming task and training for the five little Mages. I heard the training went haywire yesterday," said Z, glaring at Bryan.
The Slayer blinked for a second before sighing and continuing his breakfast.
"I wasn't the one in charge for yesterday's session, so you can't pin too much blame on me. Besides, it was our first run with those kids, and they've all got some form of Orginal Spell in their arsenals. So no amount of preparation could ready us for such a situation."
"However, if it were up to me leading the class, Midori wouldn't have rebelled against me since I would've been level-headed enough to handle the young girl's anger. Criticize me all you want, but a trainer should not release their anger on their students. No matter the provoker."
"Rina should have known to stop Midori before the child fully lost control. Unfortunately, that Flower Mage couldn't even handle Nasima later on, so I think she isn't up for the job," replied Bryan.
"You shouldn't say such things to your junior. After all, the Butterfly Girl is consiudered to be a Pure Mage and as mastered all of the Basic Spells while you've recently came out of your shell. Besides, give the girl a chance. You'll find people do wondrous things when given chances."
Z's explanation made sense as an elder's standpoint. If you are too harsh on the junoris, they will end up leaving. Rina may not be a junior in terms of Magecraft but she was a new trainer while Bryan had trained countless of people before in the Five Kings.
"Hm... Then I'm guessing today's training would be by you? Or Tomoe? Mavislin is the type to rotate teachers around since the kids can get a sense of vibrancy within classes," asked Z.
"You're right but, at the same time, slightly wrong. I will lead today's lesson, but I'm not exactly training them. I'm guiding them since Lady Roydon had a great idea to put the five children against each other. Rina and Tomoe will be moving the other children into the new area."
"I hope their bodies could adapt to the new environment without any side effects. They may be Mages, but their bodies are still underdeveloped. But I'm sure Lady Roydon has a backup plan up her sleeve," answered Bryan, cracking his back.
To the men's surprise, Duncan walked right into the dining hall. The boy seemed tired or bored. The two Mages couldn't tell since it was his usual expression. The Old Chapel summoned a small plate, utensils, and a cup filled with milk for the skinny child.
"So, we're going to duel with each other for today? All at the same time or are you going by rounds again?" asked Duncan to cut his bacon.
"I would do it all simultaneously if you kids weren't so unpredictable. But because I don't have multiple versions of myself, the battles would be based on rounds. So no special request will be entertained since everyone knows each other. But no killing either," explained Bryan.
"Then how would we determine the winner?"
"First child to get scratched or falls is out of the playing field. I'll explain the details later when everyone is ready. Have you talked to your sister yet?" questioned Bryan, remembering Duncan was Midori's twin.
"Why should I talk to her? The last I checked, she was alive. That's all that matters, right? And I'm well aware that she was up all night, but it isn't her. I heard Midori talking, but it wasn't my sister's voice; it was someone else. That voice would be of another spirit if she's like me, right?"
"Yes, you are correct. That spirit is one of the Knights of the Round Table. But, not to worry, that spirit isn't hostile anymore and plans to help Midori in her future endeavors. What's more important is that I owe you some explanation on your powers, Duncan," greeted Mavislin.
Bryan and Z seemed impressed that the Valkyrie has so much energy even after sleepless nights and days of using most of her Elemental Energy.
"How are you still so energetic?! Is your Elemental Energy pool that vast?" asked Bryan.
