"What was so funny about my decision? I think it's a valid point not to allow you to run rampant in my body..." replied Duncan.
"I do not deny that fact, but that isn't your true answer? Hehee... Do you realize that an average person's thinking won't be fascinating as yours? So your reason for me not to appear unless facing an actual danger is not because you wanted to protect your sister..."
"It was because you didn't want to waste Element Energy!"
After spitting out those words, the Reaper burst into laughter again. Duncan was amused at the spirit's reaction. A few moments passed before the Ankou could finally catch his breath and pointed a pale finger with black fingernails at Duncan, unimpressed with his help laughing at him.
"You won't allow me to come out... Yet you are still here. So, what do you need from me, precious boy?"
"I need something else that could win me the fight by a landslide. I am beginning to feel hungry and want the duel to end as soon as possible. But, if I get hit by that Light blade, we're both good as gone. So, do you have any good tactics to get out of this mess?"
The Ankou hopped off the gravestone and began to walk toward the boy. The Reaper snapped his fingers as he reached Duncan, making his giant scythe appear in his palm with the blade facing downwards. Duncan stepped back to prevent the Ankou from attacking him.
"Grab onto the handle. If you can withstand the amount of power that pumps into you for the next second, then I'll allow you to use this weapon. If you pass, you will go back to the duel, and you'll have no problem winning against your sister without my help."
Just as Duncan wanted to grasp the handle, the Grim Reaper moved the weapon further away. Duncan raised his eyebrows in suspicion.
"However, if you can't withstand this weapon, you give me no choice but to take over the fight for you. But if you turn back now, you can still go back to the real world and try to defeat your sister with your own hands. So which will it be?" asked the Reaper, grinning.
Without a second thought, Duncan sighed and forcefully held onto the scythe's handle. His stomach's demands govern this kid's actions. As the Ankou released his grip on the weapon, Duncan was thrown into a frenzy as his mind broke down.
The surge of Elemental Power coming from the scythe was unimaginable. If this were by any of the other kids, their minds would have broken. But Duncan was built differently in terms of emotions and letting them affect his overall thinking.
The boy learned that it was no use to show any emotions to the world around him if everyone was going to torture him for it. As a defense mechanism, Duncan's mind thought that showing emotions would mean provoking the experimenters. Thus, the boy looked apathetic.
As years went by, his body became used to this 'mechanism' and made the boy unfeeling towards situations that caused great emotion for others. But when Duncan allowed the weapon's power to flow through him, the boy encountered a set of memories opposite his.
A story, a set of memories of a person who had no emotion, going about the daily task of taking others' souls. The Grim Reaper, Death itself, was a single, lonesome being who couldn't feel anything. No pain, no smiles, and no sorrows... Just endless days of reaping the dead's souls.
And soon, his mind began to wonder if there's more to the end of these people's short lives. If the body could go on without a soul, wouldn't it create the best invincible army? And that's when the lonesome being began to feel an emotion... The feeling of thrill followed by amusement.
Centuries passed, and he was hunted down for making such horrifying creatures. Some say it even disgusted them to know that their family members' bodies were being reused for such a purpose instead of putting them to eternal rest. As the riots grew, the lonesome being felt another emotion.
And with blinding rage to silence all that cast the stone of sin, the angered Reaper took up his scythe and broke the laws he once diligently followed for the past eternity. Once he had massacred every human standing in his way, he met the most beautiful thing in the Universe.
"There are so many heads everywhere. There's no way I can build a place of shelter on this planet if they are going to get beheaded like this. Were you the one who did such a heinous crime?" asked the gorgeous beauty as she stood in the middle of beheaded corpses.
