The Ark Of Sir Tristan's Words

"I dare say that it had piqued my interest in human nature. Which means something since I am a Kitsune," said Tomoe, gently pushing the holographic screen towards Mavislin.

Mavislin caught the page, and the text instantly changed from Japanese to Latin, giving the Valkyrie a better time to read the recount. A low-ranking warrior serving under the guidance of Sir Tristan had written this report. It detailed the days spent fighting against the rebellion.

But as the days went on, the soldier's recount changed from one of a noble story to a heartbreaking tale of a man, once a proud member of the Round Table. Finally, the man states that Sir Tristan could not stand to see the endless bloodbath go down in the once beautiful land of Camelot.

It was gut-wrenching to know that their Promised King was fighting valiantly against a losing battle. The King looked glorious and righteous, which started cracking Sir Tristan's psyche. Finally, the Knight of the Bow could not take it any longer and left the prestigious group.

However, it would seem that his final words to his King and the Knights would be the ones to haunt them to their graves. And the one thing that caught Mavislin's eye was the text that ended the entire paragraph.

" 'Our King does not understand the human heart.' Now, that's a bold statement to claim, even for the people of that time. But I guess that happens if you aren't human anymore and tried ruling a kingdom during a rebellion. It's like what my mother had told me."

"What's the point of leading a kingdom if you couldn't understand the hearts of those who served alongside you? You are not a good ruler if you have no clue what the common masses want or need to survive. You are not fit for the role if you blindly continue a losing battle."

"Honestly, I knew the King had something wrong with him, but I never thought he'd be that useless. It was as if he took that sword out for its fun and had been living in a fantasy of ruling a kingdom. And leading Camelot into ruins because of stubbornness?"

"Even when your brethren was dying left, right, and center, you continue to fight because it was the right thing to do?! Then what's the point of being a King in the first place if you did not care that everyone was dying due to your misjudgment?!"

"How cruel and pathetic is that? No wonder Mordred went ham on the King... If I were the Knight of Rebellion, I would've left a long time ago! Because it isn't worth to serve under a King who had no basic concepts to run a kingdom!" exclaimed, Mavislin, disgusted.

"I never thought that a soldier's story of the Promised King would be the one who snaps your anger stick today. I thought you'd be more sympathetic to the King since he wasn't human..." said Tomoe, gently moving away from the enraged Valkyrie.

"No, that makes it more infuriating! To know that I'm not human and still understood what the common masses wanted from the King. But, according to this source, it isn't because the King wasn't human or not... It's because the King lacked basic common sense!"

In a way, the Valkyrie was right to think of the King in such a negative way. But the Galaxian Mage had an open mind about these things since he was never brought up under military circumstances. Sure, he leads troops during several wars but never as an overseer of conflict.

Perhaps the King had an image to uphold? Nah... That would seem like the King indeed was a pathetic thing to walk on the fields of the Earth. Thus, Z could not come up with a good argument and silently continued monitoring the weather areas of the Five Domains.

"Tomoe, you can take your leave for today. I'll continue with the research from here on out. Thanks for the help. Perhaps you should check on your Master if he is still breathing on that bed of his," said Mavislin, taking over Tomoe's side of the table.

"Sure thing. I've managed to find all I could about the origins of the Knights and the King himself. But it seems impossible for me to find out anything about that Merlin Mage you had mentioned. See you at dinner then," said Tomoe, waving goodbye as he walked out of the room.

"Are you going to join the training session again?" asked Z.

"I might, after I grab a quick drink. I miss my sake..."

"You should kick that habit of yours, it ain't too good if you get caught by the children again."

"Thta's too much effort for a lazy fox like me. Well then, I wish you luck in your research."
