Mavislin nodded and began working on piecing together what had gone down during the final battle of Camlann. Though her memories weren't enough to decipher the works behind the scenes, they provided a reliable source for the different retellings of the grand battle.
She could ask Mordred again, but it would be better to wait for a bit longer when Midori gains better control of the Knight. And hopefully, it could tell her why the Round Table Knights surfaced as some twisted version of their past selves.
When Mavislin tried to resume her work, the Valkyrie felt a sudden change in Elemental Energy levels. This change also caught Z's attention and promptly forced the two to check on the Elemental Energy levels of the Old Chapel. Everyone's Elemental Energy was accounted for, but...
"Why is Nasima's Elemental Energy level lower than normal? Could you send a familiar to check if she is alright?" asked Mavislin, worried that something might've happened to the training session.
"She's alright since there are still signs that her Elemental Core is still active. But it is odd that she was battling Amani just a few minutes ago... And Amani's Elemental Energy level has remained high since they started battling. Only Nasima's level dipped to such low levels after a burst."
Z pushed the screen to Mavislin to show a graph of the usage of Elemental Energy for the past hour. The Valkyrie went silent for a moment before turning back to do her work. Z was surprised at how dull Mavislin was towards the change.
"Why did you suddenly stop worrying?" asked Z, putting away the screen.
"Well, I had remembered that Nasima doesn't have full control of her Elemental Energy. Thus, she doesn't rely on it too much. That's why when she used her Blood Mastery, it was powerful enough to destroy the shield from the inside out. Think of it like using a sword to chop vegetables."
"The child only has enough to summon a few weapons into reality but can't use any more spells since she would drawing out the air from her surroundings. But when she lacks the Elemental Energy for spells, she makes up for it in hand-to-hand and weapon combat."
"She is the future Spearman Pillar, so I guess she is using the spear as a normal weapon without any fanciful blasts or Elements," explained Mavislin, reading the chunk of texts floating in front of her.
Z shrugged his shoulders and got back to his work. As for the start of the afternoon training session, Ashley and Bryan were still trying to figure out who was going to battle Nasima. Eventually, after a game of flip a coin, they decided that Nasmia would be up against Amani.
After seeing what had occurred during the first two rounds, Bryan had decided to permanently put the arena into the ground since being on a surface level would threaten the audience. So, once the playing field was set, Ashley stayed with the big group as Bryan hopped into the pit.
"The rules apply from the previous duels. You can use your powers in any form but do not kill your opponents. Then, without further to do, you may begin," said Bryan, backing away to the pit's walls.
This time, Amani was different from the previous round as he decided to go on the offensive instead of always playing guard. And this posed a problem for Nasima since she was mainly suited to be the attacker. The first clash was heard as Nasima's leg met with Amani's dominant arm.
The two backed away from each other and started dueling in a fistfight, in which Ashley questioned all of his life choices.
"I knew that kids are unpredictable, but I had never expected the two of them to start the duel by punching and to kick each other. So what's up with that?" asked Ashley.
"We are trying to warm up. Not everyone can head into battle by using their most powerful moves with a finger snap. We need time to build momentum and figure out which spell to use against our opponent. Plus, the audience should see some foreplay, right?" explained Duncan.
Ashley looked horrified and disgusted that a child would be speaking of such a word but shrugged his shoulders since he was talking to the odd kid in the group.
"Guys! Look, Nasima will use the new spear she was trying out a few days ago! It feels powerful," yelled Midori, pointing to the battle below.
After a flurry of kicks toward Amani's raised hands, Nasima used a powerful kick to get away from the close-quarters combat. As she safely landed on the other side of the field, Nasima stuck her arm upwards and to the sky. Amani quickly took heed of the situation.
