The Ark Of Circe Vs Midori

Meanwhile, when the Slayer returned to the group, he snapped his fingers and gathered the four children. Then, the Slayer announced the next pair to fight.

"Circe and Midori will go up next since Nasima needs time to heal and recuperate. When they are done, the final round would be Duncan against Nasima, and then we'll call it a day. Does that sound good for everyone?" proposed Bryan, giving a thumbs-up.

Ashley nodded as the children quickly prepared themselves, with only Duncan and Nasima backing away from the next duelists. Soon, the playing field was set, and Bryan was about to hop into the arena again before a certain Kistune flew out of nowhere.

Poor Tomoe landed face-first into the grasslands in front of Bryan and before the pit. The shocked Slayer peered at the Kitsune to see if everything was alright.

"I hate that Bahamut lets her pet fly freely when she isn't awake... That damned thing should be on the leash when her master is asleep..." complained Tomoe as Bryan helped his mentor up.

"You mean the High Queen's pet, Fluffy? I don't see her flying around, so what's your deal?" asked Ashley, glancing around.

"Yeah... That's the point, you don't see that giant of a bird, but Fluffy is around and guarding the area. But sometimes, that oversized thanksgiving dinner sees me as a threat since I like high places and look like an overall suspicious person. So she sniped me, and here I am," complained Tomoe.

The poor Kitsune was rubbing his left hip as blood started oozing out. With all the senior Mages unable to heal others, Duncan sighed as he stepped in front of Tomoe and slashed his wrists with his fingers. Tomoe's eyes widened as Duncan sprayed his blood onto the gaping hip wound.

"Blood Mastery: Onyx Stitches," mumbled Duncan as the blood droplets on the wound turned into thin strings and began sewing the wound up.

Tomoe gawked at the scene in wonder while Bryan and Ashley could only look freaked out. Finally, after some Ticks, the wound was fully closed, and the Slayer could continue his job of supervising the two dueling kids and hopped down into the pit.

"Are you going to watch the fun or scampering away to drink your sake?" asked Ashley as the arena started appearing again.

"Hmph, I prefer watching something interesting than drinking myself to death... You make it sound like I'm an alcoholic..." complained Tomoe, trying to hide his sake cup.

"Then you shouldn't be drinking on top of trees when the sun's high in the sky," spat Ashley as the kids collectively shushed them since they wanted to see the battle.

"So much for being responsible adults... Out here, bringing nasty things in broad daylight. Hey, don't you know there are little ones here?! Nasima, don't be like that fox, okay?" warned Duncan as Nasima nodded.

Down in the pit below, Bryan was at the sidelines as the two children's Elemental Aura appeared, signaling that the fight was about to begin. Circe's side of the place was vibrant with the orange to red spectrum, while Midori's side was glowing with hues of green and lime.

Midori wanted to summon Mordred but thought twice that it wouldn't be unfair to Circe since it would be a two-against-one fight. Mordred whined as they had lost the battle before because Midori refused to use the Knight of Rebellion's power.

But the fox girl quickly shut the Knight down as Circe pulled out a strand of hair. Then, Midori got ready as she stuck an arm to her side and closed her eyes to choose which sword she would use against her opponent.

Midori was in her mind and wandering about, trying to find the best weapon that could go against Circe. One that could compliment Midori's Element of Gaia and still have an advantage on Circe's flames. Let's see... To grow flora and fauna, you need the Sun, right?

Midori had a brilliant idea as she came across a large longsword stuck into the ground. The weapon's blade was silver, with a line of blue running vertically through the middle. The sword didn't have a guard, only an upright flat disc of blue between the blade and handle.

The child quickly ran past the blade and grabbed it, doing a 180 degrees turn and holding the sword up high. Just then, Mordred popped out of nowhere and shook her head at the happy child who was mesmerized by the weapon in her hand.

"You've got to be kidding me... I allowed you to use my power to fight against other Mages and enemies during courageous battles, and you toss me away for some honor student's weapon?! Are you trying to stir beef with me?!" yelled Mordred, drawing her blade against Mordred.
