"I want you to place the sheath into someone's body that you think might need help during the fight. No matter how much I tinkered with it, the true power of Avalon is to heal all wounds, mimicking the appearance of the Utopian Dream of Avalon, Paradise Of Britannia," said Gillian.
Mavislin took the sheath from the Headmaster and placed a hand on it. The Valkyrie closed her eyes as she calculated how much Elemental Energy was left in the sheath after so many centuries had passed.
"Even though it has been used so many times to protect the King, there's still so much Elemental Energy left in this that it could revive the Five Domains' population! And I am going to give it to my students? How will the device work if it's their bodies?"
"You are going to use it with the person. But, first, the device will bind the sword to the wearer's hands, rendering the Black Knight unable to use her sword. Once that happens, you may take it out of the person's body and unleash the spell; Lost Paradise Of Distant Utopia."
"That Spell will cage the Black Knight in the 'dream' of Avalon while we have access to her power. It's almost the same as your Euphoria minus the using of powers part."
Mavislin gazed at the sheath with trepidation as she thought of which Mage she was going to give the item. Finally, after a while of pondering, the Valkyrie decided to provide the healing sheath to her Slayer, Bryan, through the process of elimination.
"Well, Rina's healing powers are almost the same as a Valkyrie's, and the twins have their Blood Mastery to heal themselves up. Ashley's wounds wouldn't be too fatal since he's already dead and relies on my Elemental Energy to remain in this realm. But, of course, that only leaves the Slayer."
"I thought you'd be giving it to Midori and Mordred... But since it's your choice, I will not prevent you from making that call. Just be sure not to regret it..."
The Headmaster wanted to continue his sentence when the table lit up in red with a giant screen beaming into the air. It was an emergency alert from Baldwin's Signal Crystal.
'Notice: Goibinu Conchorbar has been eliminated. You may proceed to the next task at hand but do so with caution as the battle in Teuton is not yet done. I have heard the call to launch my Knights to their respective positions. Give me more time to fix the Domain.'
The Headmaster was beginning to worry as dawn approached the area while the Valkyrie finally noticed that Duncan hadn't left the room.
"You should get some sleep before we fully head out. Our group won't be heading out until after lunch so that you can catch some sleep first," said Mavislin, walking over to the young boy.
Duncan sleepily nodded as Mavislin followed him into his dorm, where the other children from his group were sleeping. As the Valkyrie gently laid the boy on his bed, Duncan held onto her wrist.
"What is it, young one?" whispered Mavislin.
"Know that if anything were to happen to us while we fight against Lancelot, I want my sister to live on. I'm willing to lay down my life to ensure she sees the next sunrise. She's my big sister and has got a brighter future than me-"
"I'm going to stop you right there, young one. Over here in the Arks, we do not live by sacrifice or dying to keep another life going. We will fight and protect our brethren to our last breath, so don't think that anyone's worth is higher or lower than yours," said Mavislin, shushing Duncan.
The boy nodded and drifted away to his slumberland again. Mavislin stood up and looked around, focusing on the sleeping children. The Valkyrie smiled as she walked out of the room, hoping that her words would not backfire on her during the next few days.
But then again... Ashley became the First Barren Pillar of her choice because he was willing to lay down his life for his boss. How hypocritical can the Valkyrie be? No... She only told the child those words because he is too young to die again.
As she walked downstairs to get some food, the Valkyrie found that the entire dining room and the kitchen had expanded to enormous proportions. It was similar to Clement's old workplace back in Albion. And speaking of the chef...
"I'd like to know how and why I slept in a Chapel only to wake up a night later to a mansion?! What on earth is going on around here?" asked Clement, finally finding a person.
Mavislin was startled but laughed as she saw Clement flustered and explained the situation to him.
