"As for the time wasted on being a storm hunter, it would amount to the past month. So why do you ask?" answered Kyle, tilting his head.
"Because that isn't a storm or a hurricane. Or even a cyclone, for that matter... It would be impossible for a cyclone to appear over there, let alone one with such large levels of winds and power."
"So what is that thing?" asked Kyle as he peered at the screens.
"The World Serpent of Norse Mythos; Jörmungandr. Guardian of the Midgard sea that surrounds the Earth within Norse tales. It is the main symbol for the Ouroboros symbol, a sign of the eternal circle of life. Legend has it that once the World Serpent releases its tail, the world's end will be upon us."
"Wars would spring out all over the globe, and it will be mayhem. According to one legend, this beast's poison is potent enough to melt a thunder god's face. Coupled with its large size, it will take a battalion of Mages to keep the thing at bay."
"And whoever decided to pull that thing out of the depths should be sent to a mental asylum because that beast is supposed to be neutral," explained Mavislin as the picture of the swirl morphed into a giant sea serpent.
The creature of the storm had scales of the green and blue color scheme with orange frills at the sides of its head. The readings on the animal were undefined, with its Elemental stats fluctuating on the holographic screen. Z stared at it with a frown as he continued to look up the creature's origins.
Kyle looked at the monster in awe while Gillian shook his head. Then, Z decided to grab the image of the World Serpent and combine it with the message sent to Baldwin.
"Tell Baldwin about the impending beast and say that Kyle would be joining him in killing that thing," said Gillian.
"No, you can't kill that beast if it's the real deal. If you kill the World Serpent of Midgard, you'll wake the entire ocean up, including Leviathan and Tiamat."
"But those two water beasts aren't related to the Norse myths, so killing one beast won't affect the rest..." said Kyle, slowly trailing off at the end.
"No, if we wage war on the waters now, we don't have enough forces to defend ourselves. The war on land is enough to set us back for the next year, so I don't have time to deal with the problems underwater. The oceans are home to different sea creatures across all myths."
"They are dormant beasts and will not attack unless something is wrong. Right now, the World Serpent waking up should be a huge alarm bell. I am sure that should be another way to quell this beast," explained Z.
"I've got a spell that can cage the beast, but it will only halt its advance for a few days. After that, my Elemental Energy will be drained, and the beast will be freed," suggested Kyle, looking at his pistols.
"How about sending the Beast to Euphoria?" asked Z, looking at Mavislin.
"Are you insane? For the beast to enter Euphoria, it has to die! If it dies, then all hell will break lose. Not only that but Euphoria can't be used against water creatures. I have no clue why but those are the facts. For now, we can move when the beast is caged for those few days."
"After the cage breaks, what do you propose we should do? Or is there anyone else who can use cage spells?" asked Kyle, desperate for another option.
Everyone stayed silent before Z finally finished his search for the Jörmungandr's profile.
"I don't think we have to worry about caging or killing this creature... Take a look at its true stats," instructed the Galaxian Mage as he pointed at the holographic screen.
Kyle thanked the heavens that the World Serpent was a fake and that it wouldn't be a problem. However, Mavislin was even more stressed when Z brought up the detailed image of the Jörmungandr.
"What's wrong, Mav? Isn't this good news that we aren't facing another calamity-ranked monster?" questioned the Headmaster, placing a hand on the Valkyrie's shoulder.
"By no means..." murmured Mavislin, with her fringe covering her eyes.
"I beg your pardon?"
Mavislin quickly grabbed Kyle's collar and hoisted him up.
"By no means are you going to kill that sea monster! That thing isn't going on a rampage by choice! That's why its stats are so low! The Jörmungandr wants to be peaceful, but something is controlling its movements. We are fortunate that the controller can't use much of its powers."
"Or else, we are doomed because even an adult Valkyrie can't stop the Jörmungandr," explained Mavislin, with tears threatening to come out.
