After that, Mavislin calmed down but still looked fierce.
"Merlin was a womanizer that loved to bring girls back to his place to do exotic things to them. The women leave his place the next morning without any memory of who Merlin is or what had happened to them the night before. And I hated Merlin for doing so."
"At first, the Mage of Flowers presented me as an advisor to King Arthur. But after some time, when I was investigating the Congregation, Merlin accidentally revealed to me the necklace he carried on his wrist when we were tidying some books."
"I thought it was an odd item to be kept away from watchful eyes since the necklace had a dull and rusty coin as a pendant. When I asked him, Merlin waved it off, saying it was a distant cousin's gift. But that Mage lies as easily as he would draw a breath."
"But when I went around to find more about the Congregation, I discovered that same necklace hanging on the necks of the Mages involved with the group," explained Mavislin, looking at the Headmaster for confirmation.
The Aki closed his eyes and nodded before opening up his desk drawer and rummaging through to find a necklace that fit the same description as Mavislin's story.
"This thing was given to every confirmed member of the Congregation. But because me and my wife's choice to train Mavislin as our underling and not by the instructions of Old Man Pond, Mavislin was never given this thing, nor was she seen as a real member of the Congregation."
"I can confirm that Merlin was in the Congregation because Old Man Pond saw him as a good Mage to help us in the backlines. However, he joined after Ysabeau was around, so he didn't know that I was together with her and made some moves that weren't welcomed in my alley."
"We never saw eye to eye and went our separate ways, with Z usually being the middleman so we can keep an eye out on the pesky Mage. So when I heard he was part of the Round Table, I was confused yet happy for the Mage since he finally doesn't need to disturb me anymore..."
"But after what had conspired during the Battle of Camlann, I... I regretted not going after Merlin to stop the fall of Camelot... For such a pitiful to happen to a rising nation was heartbreaking for me to see. No offense to you, Mordred," explained Gillian, while Mordred shook her head.
"Nah, I'm taking no offense because I didn't like that Mage anyways. He never liked to help the Knights with their battles, only useful when we needed to retreat or if we've sustained some wounds. The most he did was give our weaponry powers that can transcend human abilities."
"For instance, Bedivere's fake arm was turned into a gun that could blast out beams of light that could decimate a strong oak tree. And Tristan was given a bow that doubles as a musical instrument that allows the Knight of Lamentation to shoot arrows without his sight," explained Mordred.
Ashley blinked twice before looking at the Knight of Rebellion, who was busy munching on an apricot pastry. Mordred swallowed the remaining bread and caught the Marksman staring at her.
"What? Is there something wrong with wanting to eat after a battle with the Knight of the Lake?" questioned Mordred, irritated by Ashley's gaze.
"No, there's nothing with that. I'm confused at your words about Tristan's bow... Why would Merlin need to invent a special weapon for Tristan?" quizzed Ashley, with question marks appearing at the top of his head.
"Because the man is blind? I thought you fought against him? Shouldn't you have known about that fact? That's why the arrows can change direction and are created by the sound of Tristan plucking on the strings of his bow," explained Mordred, looking at Ashley as if he had two heads.
"Does this face look like someone who knew about that fact?" asked Ashley, still at a loss that he had faced a Knight who was blind.
"Well, I did warn everyone not to trust the profile too much and only study their battle behaviors. Also, because of the Knights' improper revival, certain physical appearances would be changed," explained the Valkyrie.
"But something as important as being blind shouldn't be changed dramatically, right? Because when I was fighting him, Tristan had his eyes wide open," replied Bryan, worried.
"My target went from a young boy to a fully adult, muscular man. I don't think anything is impossible anymore..." said Mavislin, shaking her head.
"Well, I thought Tristan being blind would be obvious because I've only seen the archer open his eyes twice during our time as the Round Table Knights."
