However, Duncan tried to buy time by stopping Lancelot with his filmstrips, making the Knight halt his advance. But it wasn't a permanent solution, and if Duncan was forced to hold back the enemy, he couldn't use his Final Frames as it would tear him from inside out.
The two Mages felt they couldn't brave such a big attack and wanted to cancel their spells, but a familiar voice echoed in the arena. A familiar pair of wings covered the skies as the mystery Mage swooped into the fray. The children smiled as they saw Mavislin landing in front of them.
"Now then... Are we having trouble fighting this man?" asked Mavislin, smiling at the children as she placed her hands on her hips.
"A bit... But that's because he won't die! So we have to turn his body into ash!" yelled Mordred with her blade shaking with power.
"Alright then... So what would you like me to do?" questioned the Valkyrie as Lancelot tried to break free.
"We need you to brave his attack while we combine spells to kill him!" shouted the twins.
"Consider it done, little Pillars! All waves rise and become my shield. From the depths of Okeanos, grant me the protection of the waves. Ruled by Neptune, son of Poseidon, the god of the sea..." chanted Mavislin as she held her palm outward.
A small orb of water appeared on the opened palm, gathering its power from the surroundings. Then, a solid shield of a scaled tail coiling around a spear appeared before the Valkyrie. At that point, Duncan's filmstrips snapped, allowing Lancelot to bring down Arondight.
By unleashing the power built up in the blade, the giant swing caused a considerable crescent moon of black Elemental Energy toward the twins. But this time, the Valkyrie was there to hold down the fort for her precious kids.
"The lost legend, Lord Atlantia!" shouted Mavislin as the shield expanded into a large wall with the Lost City of Atlantis emblem.
The wall was bright blue and looked translucent, while Mavislin's shield remained solid. The attack from Arondight clashed with Lord Atlantia, unable to pass through the towering divide. Seeing that the plan was working, the twins wasted no time with their Final Stages.
The Sotobas behind Duncan's back changed direction as they shot out first, stabbing the Knight of the Lake.
"Final Frame: Graves Of The Round Table!" shouted Duncan as he slammed the scythe down into the ground, causing a wave of green Elemental Energy to shoot towards Lancelot.
"Final Seed: Final Weapon On The Camlann Hill! Clarent!" shouted Mordred and Midori as they brought down their sword and unleashed a torrent of red and green Elemental Energy at the Knight of the Lake.
Both attacks bypassed Arondight's power and incinerated Lancelot's body, leaving no trace of him behind. But because Mordred had used too much power by combining both Clarent and the Final Seed, she entered into a blank slate of the world.
Midori took over the body while Mordred woke up in a completely different environment.
"Ah, crap... Was I sent back to the afterlife again? That sucks..." complained Mordred as she looked around.
But the Knight of Rebellion couldn't recognize the area as she woke up. But as she stood up, Mordred saw a large man with purple armor standing back facing her. She sighed as she fully got up and walked over to the figure.
"Even if I had been dead for over god knows centuries... I will always know that armor set from a mile away and that blade from another dimension. Oi, philanderer! What are you standing here for?" yelled Mordred, passing the Knight of the Lake to see his face.
As she saw Lancelot's face, Mordred was relieved to know that it was indeed the face she remembered. The Knight of the Lake had proper color of skin, black hair, and eyes.
Of course, the Knight of Rebellion hoped that Lancelot got a human set of teeth, or else she would break those canines.
"I didn't mean to hurt those children... I did it again, just like how I killed Gawain's brothers. But I couldn't control myself; I was forced into that form! Why did it happen? Why did I become a monster?! I just..." wept Lancelot as he dropped Arondight.
Mordred looked surprised as she tried to find some way to calm the weeping man, but she wasn't good when it came to those things.
"I thought if I could answer the King's call, I could redo my past mistakes. I could serve my King loyally again and aid her in the final battle. But I was in a body I couldn't control when I awoke. The more I wanted to move, the more it wanted to go rogue."
