Closed doors

I ended up going back inside only to see the mixed emotions of people. Everyone told me that Michael had left amd gone home in tears. He told people he treated me well and that it came out of nowhere because we were happy together.

Aliah my best friend tried to tell me I let a good man go and that I shouldn't be picky. "So what if he didn't live you Frankie he cared and thats all you need sometimes. You guys were the golden couple here."

I've been told that multiple times and it was tiring. They didn't know the endless fights and the hits and the pressure he gave me and put me through. They only saw what we allowed them to see and that is partly my fault.

"You don't know anything Aliah. Let's leave it at that okay?" she simply gave me look of disappointment.

I got my bag and went walking to the city park behind the college. I texted Ruben.

"Picking up bodies?" he worked at the churches funeral business.

He sent me a picture of two body bags. "Don't show anyone that, but yeah it was an old couple they died a day apart."

"Awe. I wonder if that would be me with anyone. If I get anyone." If I'm being honest I'm not hurt that I left Michael. I'm hurt that I lost a best friend.

"You're young and you're amazing, any guy would be fuckin lucky to have you." I smiled at the thought.

"Thanks. Call me when you can yeah?"

"Give me 3 minutes."

I walked around and found myself listening to music and feeding the ducks at the pond and looking at the turtles that lived at the same pond. My earbuds were in, but I wasn't listening to music. My phone rang.

"Hey you hungry?" I looked at the stomach and at the time. I was.

"A little but I don't have money."

"I got you. Just tell me where you're at." I told him where I was and in 15 minutes he was here. I got in the car.

"Won't you get in trouble for being with me?" I asked.

"I don't care. We aren't doing anything bad."

When we got to the fastfood place. I got a small meal and a drink, I felt bad that he was paying. Once we got our food we simply talked and talked until he got a call. He had to go. I needed to find a way home beause I already missed my bus. He offered and I was on the edge about talking the offer but I had no other choice.

Here is where our problems began.
