Du Ru Ran became an orphan at the age of 5 years old after a deliberate car accident. She was then taken in by her uncle. Life was truly tragic but being a smart girl, she managed to turn the tides around. She plans to avenge the death of her parents and her little brother who she did not get to meet in this lifetime. At that time, thank her lucky or unlucky star, she met a pair of mother and son, who gave her some warmth in her moment of total darkness. 

Years later, when they meet again, he stuck to her like a fly she could not get rid off. He kept insisting she took advantage of him when they were young and insisted that she take full responsibility for him.

20 years ago:
"Little girl, you really need to take responsibility on this young master when we are older. I am never going to let you go." He whispered into her ears. Due to his illness, he somehow grew up a little mature than peers his age. Hence, it wasn't a normal for him to be thinking about his future at such young age. In fact, since he was three years old, he had been groomed to be a fine young man in order to prepare him as he is the next heir of his prestigious family. He fell asleep with a smile on his face.

At the present:
She thought a dumb cupid made a mistake by accidentally release an arrow and the arrow went straight to a 7 year old boy and now, 20 years later, he is delusional.

"Why can't you leave me alone? I really have no time, no room for another person. I am pretty occupied with getting my revenge. Go and fly away," she said while making the hand gestures of shooing a pesky fly away.

"You really don't need to work hard on my behalf, I am touched that you worry about my well being and feeling. As long as I get to see you, that is all I require. You really don't have to do anything."

Ru Ran felt her head is going to explode, shameless, when did I, how on earth did he manage to lift himself so high that even direct language don't get to his thick skull? Fine, if you don't want to leave, I will walk away.

True to her thoughts she walked away huffing and puffing, fuming at the fly she can't get off.

"Wifey wait up!!!"

"Seriously, what do you see in me?" she asked impatiently. 

Instead of answering her immediately, he spun he around to face him, pushed her to lean against a nearby wall, locked her body with his legs and arm in order to stop her from escaping. His facial expression turn serious, gone the silly demeanor he had put up earlier. 

Her heartbeat increased and her palms started to sweat. She stuttered, "What.. What.. Just what do you plan to do?" 

"I am going to answer your question. Look me in the eyes. I see a beautiful lady, a stubborn one, cold exterior but inside she is kind and afraid to get hurt. She gave me a kiss 20 years ago and gave me the strength to live and from that day onwards, I have given my heart to her."

A story about love and revenge. (I hope so)

My reflection in your eyes

If they want to escape they really have to do it fast. The sound of ambulance was getting nearer and nearer, which means the main gate and door would be wide open. To add on to the commotion, Chan Pei Sia, Du Wen Hai's wife is induce to an early labor due to all the chaos. She was shocked to find her mother in law and husband unconscious in the study after being informed by the servants. She tried to lift her husband up and unexpectedly she started having contractions and her water broke causing the servants to panic further. Another ambulance had to be call, and all this created an opportunity for them to run away and think of a plan later.


Ru Ran grab Sister Fong and rushed out of the house in the middle of the chaos. They ran and ran till it was the main road, they then flagged down a taxi and got onto it. Only in the taxi that they calm their breathe down and headed straight to Gan Lawfirm. Suddenly Sister Fong panicked because she realised they did not even bring money and phone. Ru Ran was glad that they left the phone, it was one item that allow people to track them. She squeeze Sister Fong's hand in reassurance and pass the ward of bills to her secretly. Sister Fong was amazed and at the same time ashamed of herself, why does it feel like their roles have reversed. She was the adult and the one supposedly to be taking care of Ru Ran and not the other way round.


Ru Ran just smiled at her reassuringly. At that moment, Fong Siew Lay made a resolution to learn to be more vigilant and to do all she can to protect this smiling angle. They paid the taxi driver, and quickly blend into the crowds and Ru Ran dragged Sister Fong to one of the shops without camera surveillance. Ru Ran took a few hair dye, sun glasses, hats and jackets. She bought a few new shoes as well and changed her shoes as well. She then told Sister Fong to do the same as well. Once they had disguise themselves, only then they headed into the Gan law firm separately to avoid suspicion. Ru Ran made as if she was part of a family of 3 entering the building and engage in a small talk with the child of that particular family. All the way from the shop to the law firm.


She had overheard them while trying on her shoes at the shop, so she decided to make it as if she was one of them. She knows her uncle has his ways to track them down if he wanted to. So this is her way of making it difficult for him. She needed to see Mr Gan to help her change identity so that she can grow up a peaceful life.


Once in the building, she blended it once more with the workers who were entering the building post lunch, she slipped in with them to go to Mr Gan's office. She gave Sister Fong her special card to show the security and she would be immediately brought to Mr Gan's office.


Ru Ran slipped into Mr Gan's office without anyone spotting her, once inside, she spotted the two Gan in deep discussion. They looked at her in surprise and Gan Wang Lei took large  strides to reach to her and was angered when he saw the mark on her face.


"What happened? We only left you awhile ago," he said in frustrated manner.


Before he could get an answer from Ru Ran, the door opened and Fong Siew Lay was ushered in. Not long after the door burst open with someone scurrying in with some breaking news.


" Bad news, bad news! Someone release a news saying the newly orphaned Young Miss Du brings bad luck to the family and causes misfortune. The Du group share is dropping, apparently Du Wen Hai suffered a second heart attack, Matriach Du hospitalised for high blood pressure and Chan Pei Sia went into early labour and the young miss had run away from home"


After he made his announcement, he was surprised to see that the young miss who is the talk of the town is staring straight at him. His mouth opened and closed like a goldfish.
