Du Ru Ran became an orphan at the age of 5 years old after a deliberate car accident. She was then taken in by her uncle. Life was truly tragic but being a smart girl, she managed to turn the tides around. She plans to avenge the death of her parents and her little brother who she did not get to meet in this lifetime. At that time, thank her lucky or unlucky star, she met a pair of mother and son, who gave her some warmth in her moment of total darkness. 

Years later, when they meet again, he stuck to her like a fly she could not get rid off. He kept insisting she took advantage of him when they were young and insisted that she take full responsibility for him.

20 years ago:
"Little girl, you really need to take responsibility on this young master when we are older. I am never going to let you go." He whispered into her ears. Due to his illness, he somehow grew up a little mature than peers his age. Hence, it wasn't a normal for him to be thinking about his future at such young age. In fact, since he was three years old, he had been groomed to be a fine young man in order to prepare him as he is the next heir of his prestigious family. He fell asleep with a smile on his face.

At the present:
She thought a dumb cupid made a mistake by accidentally release an arrow and the arrow went straight to a 7 year old boy and now, 20 years later, he is delusional.

"Why can't you leave me alone? I really have no time, no room for another person. I am pretty occupied with getting my revenge. Go and fly away," she said while making the hand gestures of shooing a pesky fly away.

"You really don't need to work hard on my behalf, I am touched that you worry about my well being and feeling. As long as I get to see you, that is all I require. You really don't have to do anything."

Ru Ran felt her head is going to explode, shameless, when did I, how on earth did he manage to lift himself so high that even direct language don't get to his thick skull? Fine, if you don't want to leave, I will walk away.

True to her thoughts she walked away huffing and puffing, fuming at the fly she can't get off.

"Wifey wait up!!!"

"Seriously, what do you see in me?" she asked impatiently. 

Instead of answering her immediately, he spun he around to face him, pushed her to lean against a nearby wall, locked her body with his legs and arm in order to stop her from escaping. His facial expression turn serious, gone the silly demeanor he had put up earlier. 

Her heartbeat increased and her palms started to sweat. She stuttered, "What.. What.. Just what do you plan to do?" 

"I am going to answer your question. Look me in the eyes. I see a beautiful lady, a stubborn one, cold exterior but inside she is kind and afraid to get hurt. She gave me a kiss 20 years ago and gave me the strength to live and from that day onwards, I have given my heart to her."

My reflection in your eyes

After Mr Gan pretty much sum up everything, he and Gan Wang Lei took their leave as they really does not have the right to stay on longer. In addition, Du Wen Hai and Matriach Du made it very clear that they had already overstay their visit and wanted them to leave as well, they even called the securities to escort them out. Soon after they left, the two older Du glared dagger and knives at Du Ru Ran.


"Did Ru Ran make uncle and Matriach angry?" Ru Ran asked when the two would not stop glaring at her. She stood before them and stared at them back defiantly. Since, they are no longer acting cordial there is no need for her to sugar coat her words too. Might as well be direct. 


Sister Fong had been carried away forcefully early by six burly men. Intially, only two men were tasked to take her away, but they did not expect her to resist and claw at them like a mad lady. Another two were called for reinforcement and lastly it required six burly male to keep her subdue. It was such a hilarious seen and Ru Ran really wanted to applaud Sister Fong for being headstrong and unyielding. Now, she is worried how those men are treating Sister Fong.


Du Wen Hai left with his mother to discuss his views on the matters meanwhile they left Ru Ran guarded by 2 big burly men. They discussed for nearly an hour and came to same conclusion as Du Wen Hai thoughts earlier. They really do not need to treat the thorn in the eye well, it doesn't matter what the society thinks of them as they would never profit from her either when she is alive or even when she is dead. Might as well treat her bad at least they have a punching bag. They can release all their unhappiness on the little heiress an the idea seems inviting now that they had gave more thoughts on the matter.


They then asked their men to bring the little heiress in. 


"Little girl, let us not pretend anymore. You know, I know, we all know, we really don't like each other and can't stand to be in the same room. Blame your parents for giving birth to you only to abandon you to us. Haha hahaha. Karma. God is fair. At least he left me you to toy with. Since you are no good alive or dead to me, just prepare to suffer a slow and miserable life her and you would wish that you died with your parents that day. Hahahaha hahahaha. I never thought this would be so satisfying," Du Wen Hai said with a maniacal laugh. He peered down at the girl who stood straight and tall, and eyes as clear as crystal looking right back at him straight into his eyes, as if piercing his soul. He suddenly felt a sharp chest pain right in the center, radiating to his left arm and jaw. He felt difficult to breath and an impending doom, he muster all his strength to lash out a slap at the little girl causing her to be flung onto a nearby wall. Even with such impact, she did not cry. She continue to stare hard at him. He then collapsed.


Matriach Du panicked and was shouting for an ambulance, she gave Ru Ran a kick before she herself fainted. The household suddenly went into a frenzy and no one paid attention to Ru Ran. Ru Ran slipped away from the commotion despite her pain, and went up to Sister Fong's room. She then informed the six guards that was guarding the room to head down and help out in the study.


Sister Fong was shocked to see a red printed mark on Ru Ran's left side of the face. Ru Ran then told her to fuss less and informed her plans of escaping. She does not want to stay on and this kind of treatment is just the beginning. She needs to file a police report as well so that the court will deem these people unfit to be her guardian. She had hid a recording device in her dress and she will use it as proof. Now, all they need to do is slip out unnoticed.
