Du Ru Ran became an orphan at the age of 5 years old after a deliberate car accident. She was then taken in by her uncle. Life was truly tragic but being a smart girl, she managed to turn the tides around. She plans to avenge the death of her parents and her little brother who she did not get to meet in this lifetime. At that time, thank her lucky or unlucky star, she met a pair of mother and son, who gave her some warmth in her moment of total darkness. 

Years later, when they meet again, he stuck to her like a fly she could not get rid off. He kept insisting she took advantage of him when they were young and insisted that she take full responsibility for him.

20 years ago:
"Little girl, you really need to take responsibility on this young master when we are older. I am never going to let you go." He whispered into her ears. Due to his illness, he somehow grew up a little mature than peers his age. Hence, it wasn't a normal for him to be thinking about his future at such young age. In fact, since he was three years old, he had been groomed to be a fine young man in order to prepare him as he is the next heir of his prestigious family. He fell asleep with a smile on his face.

At the present:
She thought a dumb cupid made a mistake by accidentally release an arrow and the arrow went straight to a 7 year old boy and now, 20 years later, he is delusional.

"Why can't you leave me alone? I really have no time, no room for another person. I am pretty occupied with getting my revenge. Go and fly away," she said while making the hand gestures of shooing a pesky fly away.

"You really don't need to work hard on my behalf, I am touched that you worry about my well being and feeling. As long as I get to see you, that is all I require. You really don't have to do anything."

Ru Ran felt her head is going to explode, shameless, when did I, how on earth did he manage to lift himself so high that even direct language don't get to his thick skull? Fine, if you don't want to leave, I will walk away.

True to her thoughts she walked away huffing and puffing, fuming at the fly she can't get off.

"Wifey wait up!!!"

"Seriously, what do you see in me?" she asked impatiently. 

Instead of answering her immediately, he spun he around to face him, pushed her to lean against a nearby wall, locked her body with his legs and arm in order to stop her from escaping. His facial expression turn serious, gone the silly demeanor he had put up earlier. 

Her heartbeat increased and her palms started to sweat. She stuttered, "What.. What.. Just what do you plan to do?" 

"I am going to answer your question. Look me in the eyes. I see a beautiful lady, a stubborn one, cold exterior but inside she is kind and afraid to get hurt. She gave me a kiss 20 years ago and gave me the strength to live and from that day onwards, I have given my heart to her."

A story about love and revenge. (I hope so)

My reflection in your eyes

She nodded her head slowly, she really hated riding in cars, she had tried it a few times, a 10 minutes ride would feel like a lifetime. At the end of the ride she would be drenched in cold sweats, feeling weak and terrorised. This is one weakness she had yet to overcome. She had been unable to seek help for her phobia because she did not want to leave a trace of doubt in Du Wen Hai. 


Since she had decided to go back to her country, she really needed to overcome this in order for people not to take advantage of her. She took a deep breath and set one foot inside the car. Shen Ji Yu could sense the changes in her emotions, he kept quiet and continue to hold her hand. He then gave her hand light squeeze indicating she is not alone and that he is here. 


Her paled face gave him an appreciative smile. She then took another step in after taking in another sharp breath. Finally, she managed to sit down, her heart beats started to pick up and accelerate. Her palms started to sweat, her head felt light and her vision became dark. The image of the bright light flashing, the crashing sounds and her mother's loud cry came back in a instant. She trembled at the thoughts, just she thought she is about to pass out, she could hear a steady heartbeat beside her, the previously cold surrounding that had enveloped her now has been taken over by a comfortable, warm embrace, her heartbeat began to steady following the rhythm of the heartbeat that she could hear and feel, her vision became clearer and her head no longer felt light.  


She opened her eyes only to see that she is in the car which has yet to move, she turned her face sideway to look up at the face above hers that belong to a very handsome young man who is looking at her with an expression of nothing but concern. Both of her hands were held tightly by this man. Half of her face were plastered to his chest, and a protective arm was wound around her shoulder, bringing her closer to him. There was a deafening silence in the car, the driver did not even dare to breath or make a sound. 


Feeling better, Ru Ran quickly propped herself up into a more proper position. By doing that, the warmth that enveloped her was lost and suddenly she felt a little loss. She quickly repositioned herself and lean back towards her source of warmth and comfort. Seeing her behaving a little like a cat, made Shen Ji Yu smile. He knew that she has already felt much better. 


Ru Ran nodded her head in agreement. She was glad that he did not focus on what happened earlier, as she did not want to relive the experience by talking. 


With that, Shen Ji Yu gave the signal to his driver to drive, he connected the car's Bluetooth to his phone and played some relaxing music via Spotify. When the car started moving, she could feel some of her earlier flashbacks coming back, she quickly gave him a hug and buried her head in his chest, he accepted her and hugged her back, it  reminded him of the night she climbed into his bed. The memories of that night made him smile. 


He looked down tenderly at her and stroke her hair gently. "I have greatly missed this feeling of having you in my arms, since that day, I have never intended to let you go," he whispered. 


Ru Ran hugged him tighter and was glad that she met him that fated night and it is with him that she is facing her biggest phobia and weakness. She felt it is nice to be weak instead of staying strong most time, to be able to depend on someone is a very nice feeling, something she had not felt for a very long time. It is not that Wang Lei gege and Sister Fong did not treat her well, in fact they treat her better than they did of their own children but she refused to allow them to get to close because she is afraid that one day when she wakes up, she would lose everyone that is dear to her.
