Deep hatred

Back in City X, Gan Wang Lei was sitting in his study in deep thoughts, his mind drifted way back when he became the godfather of his best friend's daughter. She just entered the world and his best friend was in a mess, his hair was ruffled, his chin had even grown a stubble but on his face it was just pure delight. Sometimes, he does not know if she was too in character or she truly felt depressed. On the outside, she never needed anyone. She grew up quiet and withdrawn, and did not cause any problems at all to him or Si Lay. She kept everything to herself, refuse to open up and did not allow anyone close. She left at 15 years old causing him and Si Lay to worry endlessly because she refused protection. He sent some anyway without her knowing and he knew the Shen's had sent their own forces to protect her in secret.

Thinking about the earlier call he received, he could hear the joy in her annoyed voice, something he had missed deeply, finally Du Ru Ran is back and it is that Shen Ji Yu that managed to bring her back. He felt like he is going to lose his baby girl but at the same time, he is happy that she is finally opening her heart to someone. "Father, why are you looking at me that way? Is there anything on my face?," a soft an melodious voice travelled to his ear soothing his soul.

"My baby girl is all grown up and father is thinking that you must have someone in mind to be your lifetime partner. Anyway, your birthday party is in a few days time, have you decided which lucky young master to be your date?" he asked.

He just remember that the man asked him to list down potential son in laws, deep down he is not willing for his daughter to leave his crutches at such young age but what can he do, he is only a puppet on a string.

He stared at his daughter's reaction, a faint blush creeps up her cheek and she quickly looked away in embarrassment trying to hide her shyness from her father.

She purposely used a pitiful and anxious voice to get a reaction from her father. She knew her father would then ask who is the person that dare to slight his daughter and then she hopes her father then can put pressure on the man in question to come and be her partner.

She wasn't looking at where she was going and accidentally bumped into him, he steadied her from falling and he just left. "I refuse.
