Sleeping hornet

"Du Ru Ran, I have been wanting to meet you. Ah Yi (mother's youngest sister/ maternal aunty) mentioned that Ji Yu had just gotten married and will be attending tonight and I was excited to meet you. Seah Shin Tong" said Shin Tong extending her hand forward.

"Du Ru Ran. Please to meet you," said Ru Ran with a grin.

"I am sorry but how are you related to Ji Yu?" she then asked.

"I am going to punch that Ji Yu. How could he not mention me? I am his favourite cousin. Our mothers are sisters," said Shin Tong faking her anger.

"Don't, don't. It is not his fault to be honest, maybe it is partially his fault come to think of it again, , he had given me a file on him but I haven't had the time to read I haven't had the time," said Ru Ran with a deep blush.

Everytime she had wanted to read about him, the shameless beast offered his body to her devouring her in the process and kept telling her soon she will know everything about him. Now, how embarrassing it is, not to know one's own family.

Ji Yu who was waiting outside, started to get impatient, five minutes had passed and what on earth is the cousin of his doing to his wife. Suddenly, a realisation dawn upon him, could it be his cousin never showed interest in guys before because she likes women instead. It was one of the reason why he felt comfortable around her compared to other female. She never had ulterior motives.

Damn, he quickly knocked on the door to remind them to be quick. Plus they do not want to miss a good show.

The two ladies started to giggle when they heard the urgent knock on the door, they were just discussing on how long would it take before Ji Yu gets worried.

"Hmph, once I played hide and seek with him but he forgot and left me hiding for an hour, when it was time for dinner, only then he remembered me. Heartless man. I always pity his future wife. Seems like my pity is not needed. We better hurry. I don't want to miss the upcoming show," chuckled Shin Tong.

She quickly removed her dress and replaced it with another amazing design. This time an amazing yellow strapless bubble dress. The length just slightly above the knee. She wrapped her exposed shoulders with a printed lightweight pashmina silk scarf. Truly a beauty especially with the big smile plastered on her face right now. Ru Ran could not help but be in awe.

When they exited the washroom, Ru Ran was still entralled by Shin Tong's beauty that she did not capture the weird looks her husband was giving them. The next thing she knew Ji Yu grabbed her and pinned her to the wall and gave her a fierce punishment kiss. Shin Tong could only helplessly look on. Knowing her cousin, he must have thought of weird ideas. Thinking back to those years, how he ignored her, she came up with a plan and her smile became devious.

Ru Ran glared at Ji Yu, unsure what came over her husband, she recognise that kiss, it is when he is irked or irritated and it has to do with her. She apologised to Shin Tong for her husband unruly behaviour and Shin Tong only smiled dazzlingly and took Ru Ran's hand in hers and tucked it close to her while smiling at her cousin.

Ji Yu's rationality snapped and was about to snatch his wife back when he saw Du Ai Sha approaching from far. He put back his indifferent look and kept this debt for his cousin to pay later. Shin Tong purpose is to offer extra allies during the banquet and to help uncover the scheme directed at his wife. Definitely stealing his wife attention was not part of the plan.

Du Ai Sha saw the scene of Shin Tong smiling and being bestie with Ru Ran made her heart sour. First, her man, now the woman she had always wanted to be close to. She remained composed instead. Her real father had reminded her just a few minutes prior to put her main aim first and not to be rash nor soft hearted.

She cleared her throat to make her presence known and then she spoke, "We have caught the culprit, please follow me. Once again, I am truly sorry such an incident happened to ruin such joyous celebration."

The man in question was kneeling on the floor, his face showed no emotions whatsoever and had a stoic look.

Ji Yu gave him a hard kick in his abdomen and that move took the man by surprise and he crumpled to the ground in pain. The music, surrounding chatters all stop and silence followed suit. It is no wonder that Ji Yu has this label of being ruthless. Looks like it is not a rumour but a fact.

The next thing that happened next surprised everyone else even more, then man yelped in pain and a gush of blood could see weeping from his cheek and a distinct whip mark could be seen. The crowd looked around and saw it was Shin Tong holding a red whip in her hands, looking satisfied.

"Those who screaming damsels please remove yourself from this scene because it is going to be more bloody," she said while giving those ladies who screamed out a cold look including Ai Sha.

Chan Pei Sia wanted to intervene, "Wait, we should hand him over to the authorities, plus he is a suspect, it is not yet confirmed."

Chan Pei Sia's heart bled for her former boyfriend who had insisted on following her to the Du family and he even willing to work as a gardener and no one knew about their past or current relationship.

"I was told he is the culprit. Leave if you can't bear to see," said Shin Tong.

"Speak! Why did you do it? We can go on all day, I am fully energise with the delicious food that was served earlier." Shin Tong continued to speak ignoring the distress look in Chan Pei Sia's eyes.

"Mother, Lady Shin Tong is right, we need to get to the bottom of things," said Ai Sha, not understanding her mother's behaviour tonight.

Du Wen Hai ordered the servants to take Chan Pei Sia away, he did not think much and have always thought of her as a delicate woman. Chan Pei Sia was escorted away unwillingly.

Ru Ran on the other hand, did not even flinch with the gory scene. She decided not to actively participate. She allowed Shin Tong to interrogate the man without putting a stop.

"Ru Ran, are you okay with watching such scene?" asked Ai Sha.

She wanted to tear off Ru Ran's mask.

"I grew up wandering the streets such scenes is not terrifying. I won't pretend to be an angel, I want to know if he did it on his own accord or someone instructed him to do it, I after all nearly became his victim if it wasn't for Ji Yu who insisted I changed right away out of my dress. Come to think of it, where is that waitress? Could she be in cahoots with the man?"said Du Ru Ran loud and clear.

She is not afraid to tear off her virtuous mask in front of everyone present. Since, they had plotted against her, why bother being nice. Du Ai Sha pale when she heard Ru Ran's words. It seems she had unintentionally provoke a sleeping hornet.
