Something is in the air

"Why don't the four of us go out and have dinner together?" asked Ru Ran trying to pacify Shin Tong.

"Hmph. I don't want to look at faces of rascals during dinner," says Shin Tong.

"Hmph, as if we want your company!" retorted Ji Yu.

Ru Ran felt a headache coming, these two adults behaving like kids. She stared at the two cousins at loggerheads, pouting and turning their backs on each other. Darren could only look away, not knowing what to do.

"Darren, let's go. We are leaving," said Ru Ran to Darren.

Without waiting for him to follow she walked out. Darren did not know if he should go or not, knowing Ji Yu, he will definitely be slaughtered if he took up Ru Ran's invitation. So, he remained stuck in his spot.

"Not coming? Fine," said Ru Ran when she noticed Darren did not follow.

The bickering pair stopped and then both of them ran after Ru Ran after realising she was walking away.

"Ran, wait up!" said Ji Yu.

"Ah Ran, alright alright, we should go and eat dinner, all the four of us. You, big bully, why are you still standing there? Need me to drag you away?" barked Shin Tong at Darren.

"Coming!" said Darren and he vow to teach the fierce lady a lesson. Hah, no wonder she is still single, with such personality, no guy in his right mind would want her.

Ji Yu was trying to placate Ru Ran because he knew he had irritated her by squabbling with Shin Tong. As Shin Tong was about to hang on Ru Ran's other arm, Darren pulled her away and took her away instead.

"Hey! Hey! Get your hands off me. Look! There are getting further away now! Hey, let me go!"

"You surely are noisy! We are not following them. I am sending you home," said Darren.

"No, I want to go with them!" exclaimed Shin Tong exasperatedly.

"They had just gotten married, leave them alone, why do you want to be a lamp post?" Darren said as he continue to drag her away.

Despite her struggles, she could not escape from his grip. She then tightened all her muscles and made herself as heavy as possible.

Irritated to the max, Darren picked her up and carried her like a potato sack over his shoulder. His hand was on her behind.

Feeling the warmth of his palms on her behind stunned her and made her blush. She paused for a moment and stopped struggling.

"Rogue!" and then she started punching his back with her fist but ended up stopping because his back felt like steel and her hands hurts.

Darren ignored the unruly woman and continue with his mission, Ji Yu better give him a huge bonus for this favor. Noticing the woman in his arms had quietened, he gave a devilish smile not inferior to Ji Yu's looks.

He then threw her in the passenger seat and made sure he child lock the door before he went to his side. Shin Tong was filled with grievances, rubbing her hurting wrists and the sides of her palms. Suddenly, she felt a looming figure over her and she could feel his breath on her face and became very aware of him, his features, his face, his eyes, his sharp nose, and thick lips. Her heart was beating furiously, and she started to panic.

"What do you think you are doing?" she asked trying to keep her voice calm and cool.

He ignored her and leaned in further, as she was about to push him away, she saw him pulling the seat beat and she quickly grab it and put it on herself.

He kept quiet and allow her to do as she wish, he then placed his on safety belt on and he started the car engine.

"Home?" he turned and asked her catching her by surprise.

She blushed because she was caught staring at him. Her heart started to beat faster.

"No! You ruined my fun day out!" she said.

Before she could speak further, her stomach rumbled loudly causing her to cover her stomach with her hands.

He made as if he did not hear a thing and started to drive. He turned on the music to livened up the quiet atmosphere.

In her embarrassment, for the first time in her life, she had nothing to say and could only keep quiet. She just stared ahead, not sure what to say or do.

She was surprised when they stopped and was happy that they stopped at a restaurant instead of her home. She glance at the quietan beside her, thinking how he reminded her so much of Ji Yu when they were younger. Quiet, aloof and distant.
