He's back

Ken had been trying for so many years to search for his lost sister. The last he heard, after the separation, their mother was lost in grief that she took recreational drugs got addicted and died of drug overdose. Somehow, he did not manage to track down his sister. He promised his dying father two things, one is to avenge his death and two is to find his sister.

His father is a Shen and in actual fact is Shen Ji Yu's step uncle but birth from a mistress. In a powerful household, it is normal to scheme against one another and that was just what they did. In order, to overtake the main branch, his father resorted to poisoning little Ji Yu through his wet nurse. Once Ji Yu's parents found out about it, they exacted their revenge and exterminated the wet nurse as well as the second branch family. They spared the lives innocent children and had planned to raise Ken themselves but they did not know that seed of hatred had already been planted in little Ken's mind. Ken's parents had already separated prior to the poisoning because of Ken's mother wild ways. Shen Xi Qi, Ken's father, took with him Ken, at that time there years old and left little Mei Xin who was still in the womb behind because Ken has more value to him.

These secrets, he brought it to grave with him, Shen Xi Qi even blamed Ji Yu's parents for their broken family, drilling in his head that because they were weak and not from the main branch, their family could be manipulated. Everything the main branch did, it was to consolidate Ji Yu's position.

On his death bed, he sprouted some nonsense claiming his death was because they wanted to ensure Ji Yu clinch the title as the next Master Shen. With his death, Ken would have no support and wait await him is the exact same fate in the future. He made his son promise him to avenge him and to find his daughter and work together to achieve their aim.

It had been many years but no matter how hard and how much resources he had spent, he can't seem to find his sister. However, he did not know his search was too narrow like his mind. He only looked into hospital registry and tried to search for his mother's relatives. He did try and search at the orphanage but his mistake was to look for someone with a surname of Shen. His search was also specific for Mei Xin. Mei Xin name is registered as Mei Xin Xin, following the bracelet and letter found in her pocket.

Mei Xin did not know regarding an existence of a brother and a scheming father. Soon, her colourful world would take a turbulent route. Mei Xin was humming happily in the hospital, Uncle Tek can be discharged today. In addition, Ru Ran had already relieved her of her duties to protect her and she is to focus on Uncle Tek's recovery. Regarding the future plans for Uncle Tek will depends on his decision. Ru Ran gave him an ultimate order to rest for a month.

"Boss, Mr Ken had already met up with Miss Du Ai Sha. However, Miss Du she fainted after the meeting and currently hospitalised. Mr Ken had his men send her there and it seems they will form a partnership together. Regarding the other matter, it has been done. We are just waiting for your orders," Ah Li's assistant reported.

He waited silently at the side for further instructions but none came. He kept his silence as he can see that his boss is in deep thoughts.

"Wait and see. As of now the newly wed couple is busy. Please look further into Mr Ken's background. Even he came to us for a common enemy, I don't want any surprises. Look deeper into his past and I want a full report," he said as he closed his eyes.

His assistant understood that the time for him to take his leave has arrived and he excused himself.

At lunch.

" Ah Ran!!!! Wu wu wu.. How are you? I heard what happened, I wanted to come over yesterday but someone..." she huffed as she puffed her cheeks to pause her sentence and only to continue with "someone.. said not to worry and come today instead."

Ru Ran had just closed her eyes after a busy morning when she heard a familiar voice and not long after, she was pulled up into a warm embrace. Who else but Shin Tong would be brave enough to do something like this? This seems to be a hereditary trait. She smiled at her thoughts. Ji Yu would pout if he knew what she was thinking. Since her marriage, she been feeling very loved, yesterday, her mother in law spoke to her on the phone for nearly an hour, currently, she is unable to come as Ji Yu's father had some issues to settle and forbids her from going there without him. Even Wang Lei gege wanted to come over yesterday with Sister Fong but she managed to persuade them not to.

"Ah Ran.. I have come yet you don't seem that excited to see me," said Shin Tong acting adorable.

Ru Ran could not help but smile helplessly and pat Shin Tong's head.

"Both of you are of same age but why do you act younger than your age?"

"Shen Ji Yu! Who are you calling immature?"

Ru Ran knew that her peaceful lunch hour has ended but she did not find it irritating but instead her heart was bursting with joy. She is no longer alone.

"Obviously, whoever eats chilli will feel the heat," said a soft voice.

Hearing that voice, her heart beat sped up and automatically, Shin Tong turned her body 180 degrees and retorted, "You! No wonder birds of same feather flock together. You are as despicable as him. You now know how to appear after what you did that day...

Ji Yu tugged Ru Ran's hand and signalled her to follow him out and the two of them sneaked out of her office.

Once in the car, Ji Yu let out a loud laugh. "My wife, you are wonderful, I was afraid you would not understand when I winked at you but you impress me."

"Being in too much contact with you, your mischievous behaviour had rub off on me," she said.

"I don't mind rubbing more and increasing our bodily contacts if this is the result," he said slyly.

His words caused her to blush heavily. She knew he is implying something else with his smile. She just smack him on his hand and asked him to drive. He just laugh merrily at her reaction. She behaves shyly if he talks this way but when they are in bed, she is more forthcoming with his teasing.
