Du Ru Ran became an orphan at the age of 5 years old after a deliberate car accident. She was then taken in by her uncle. Life was truly tragic but being a smart girl, she managed to turn the tides around. She plans to avenge the death of her parents and her little brother who she did not get to meet in this lifetime. At that time, thank her lucky or unlucky star, she met a pair of mother and son, who gave her some warmth in her moment of total darkness. 

Years later, when they meet again, he stuck to her like a fly she could not get rid off. He kept insisting she took advantage of him when they were young and insisted that she take full responsibility for him.

20 years ago:
"Little girl, you really need to take responsibility on this young master when we are older. I am never going to let you go." He whispered into her ears. Due to his illness, he somehow grew up a little mature than peers his age. Hence, it wasn't a normal for him to be thinking about his future at such young age. In fact, since he was three years old, he had been groomed to be a fine young man in order to prepare him as he is the next heir of his prestigious family. He fell asleep with a smile on his face.

At the present:
She thought a dumb cupid made a mistake by accidentally release an arrow and the arrow went straight to a 7 year old boy and now, 20 years later, he is delusional.

"Why can't you leave me alone? I really have no time, no room for another person. I am pretty occupied with getting my revenge. Go and fly away," she said while making the hand gestures of shooing a pesky fly away.

"You really don't need to work hard on my behalf, I am touched that you worry about my well being and feeling. As long as I get to see you, that is all I require. You really don't have to do anything."

Ru Ran felt her head is going to explode, shameless, when did I, how on earth did he manage to lift himself so high that even direct language don't get to his thick skull? Fine, if you don't want to leave, I will walk away.

True to her thoughts she walked away huffing and puffing, fuming at the fly she can't get off.

"Wifey wait up!!!"

"Seriously, what do you see in me?" she asked impatiently. 

Instead of answering her immediately, he spun he around to face him, pushed her to lean against a nearby wall, locked her body with his legs and arm in order to stop her from escaping. His facial expression turn serious, gone the silly demeanor he had put up earlier. 

Her heartbeat increased and her palms started to sweat. She stuttered, "What.. What.. Just what do you plan to do?" 

"I am going to answer your question. Look me in the eyes. I see a beautiful lady, a stubborn one, cold exterior but inside she is kind and afraid to get hurt. She gave me a kiss 20 years ago and gave me the strength to live and from that day onwards, I have given my heart to her."

She pinched him before he could finish his sentence. Her face turned redder as she recalled last night scene in bed. He merely laughed at her expression.


Meanwhile in Ru Ran's office, one of the two people left behind had yet to realise that the other two had slipped out. She was busy glaring at the man that had been occupying her thoughts like a space occupying lesion. She needed to vent out some frustration.


"You... Why are you here?" asked Shin Tong.


He just shrugged his shoulder making her even more frustrated.


"Ah Ran, why don't we just..." she did not finish her sentence as she realised the ones left were just them. He could not help but laugh secretly when he saw her sexy mouth open and closed like a goldfish. Her eyes widened with disbelief. Shin Tong could not believe it, her cousin in law had been corrupted by her cousin.


Since, she has nothing to say to the block of wood in front of her and her lunch partner had abandoned her, she ignored Darren and picked her bag up, straightened her posture and was about to walk away before her wrist was grabbed by a certain someone.


"Hey, we are not that familiar with each other for you to just do as you please," she said glaring at him. She is annoyed at the moment. She did not know why, but at this moment she resented him because maybe it is just her that has been overthinking things and this block of wood has no interest seeing his indifferent behaviour. 


"You obviously had been ditched, we can go and have lunch," he said in his usual stiff tone. 


"I.. Shin Tong.. Don't need your charity, I can go have lunch myself," she said. 


Her mind went blank with his words. He insist? He is not doing it out of duty? She could obviously see that Ji Yu purposely hand her over to Darren so that she doesn't end up as a lamp post with them. If he insist, does it mean he genuinely wants to eat with her. She stared at his expressionless face. She is the queen of expressionless but seeing someone who perfected the art better than her annoyed her immersely. 


"You don't have to," she said not realising her tone now was much gentler and softer. She walked a few steps in a quick stride but was pulled back by a great force as her wrist was still being held by the block of wood. As a result, she stumbled and he jerked her towards him causing her to crash into his hard chest. That one moment of close contact made her palms all sweaty and her heart began to beat faster. Her pupils dilated, her ear lobes could not help but turned red. 


She quickly pushed him away as if he was something she should not have touched. 


"Careful, it is rude to walk away when we are still conversing," he said reprimanding her but his tone was gentle and it even surprised him. 


"I thought we were done. I am sorry for taking up your time, I have to go," she said and with that she sprinted as fast as she could. She needed to escape from this man. He is too dangerous. Lately, she had not been "well" and she blames him. 


Looking at the figure of the woman fleeing made Darren smile, a rare occurrence. He called up Ji Yu to inform that Shin Tong left on her own. That made Ru Ran felt guilty. She quickly gave Shin Tong a call and chased JI Yu away for a lunch date with Shin Tong. Ji Yu felt distress but he knew his wife was reasonable plus lately Shin Tong has been out of sort, so, he graciously conceded.


"Hmph, if you didn't call me, I would have think of you as heartless and my impression of you would have drop one degree," blurted Shin Tong. 


This type of straightforward character that Ru Ran admire about Shin Tong. 


"I was wrong. So, sister Tong, please forgive me," begged Ru Ran. 


"Ha.. I didn't know you know how to play the cute card," said Shin Tong with a smile. She had only pretend to be angry but she was satisfied with this cousin in law of hers.
