Plot intensify

"Ren, where have you been? Ah Ran was just trolley out to the operating theatre," asked Shin Tong.

"I had some things to do, where is Yu?" asked Darren.

"He's out there, do you think they will be alright?" asked Shin Tong.

"Let's continue praying. I'll go and check on him," said Darren.

He went out to look for Ji Yu. He found him sitting on the ground while absent mindedly throwing a pebble onto the calm surface of the lake.

"Yu, why don't you let the others know?" asked Darren quietly.

"It needs to be real, or else how else? If we didn't manage to catch that woman in action that day, I would have truly loss Ran," said Ji Yu equally soft.

"This is the only way to get the person behind the scene out from hiding, I am no longer protecting just one person now, our family has grown bigger lately. Ran has finally open her heart to let others in, and she cherishes quite a number of people and it is our duty as men to protect the people we love as well as those they cherish," said Ji Yu with a heavy sigh.

"Got it, I used to think you are a fool willing to wait for a woman, not willing to open your heart to others but now that I found one myself, I get it. By the way, Kira is back, I don't know what I saw in her back then, now that I am wiser, I can see she has no good intentions," said Darren.

"Yu, better head in before the rest get anxious, anyway buddy, I got your back," he added on.

"Good thing you know Kira is not good. The day she left, I was glad, now that she is back, you better make sure, Shin Tong doesn't get the wrong idea," said Ji Yu softly while looking at the rippled lake surfaces for the last time before getting up and walked towards the hospital entrance not waiting for Darren's reply.

After three hours of waiting, the doctors came out with saddened expression, claiming they failed to secure the bleeding and the fetus and womb had to go in order to save Ru Ran's life. Ji Yu's reaction was the worst, he punched a nearby wall and immediately blood could be seen flowing. The wall was left with a bloody dent. He kept silent and waited for Ru Ran to be trolley out and he immediately held her hands ignoring everyone else.

Sister Fong, Mei Xin, Shin Tong, Mummy Shen and Ai Sha all huddled together, crying silently for Ru Ran's pain and loss. While their men stood at their spot with great sadness expressed on their face. They gave Ji Yu and Ru Ran the space they needed. Ru Ran appeared groggy from the anaesthesia and was still in slumber.

Ji Yu went near to Ru Ran's ear and whispered, "Darling, sorry you had to go through this, I promise you we will get Ah Li soon, so far, Darren did not manage to trace the call but we will get his right hand man soon."

Ru Ran just squeezed his hand that was holding hers tightly under the blanket. They can't act out of the ordinary as the room may have hidden camera installed. They both need to make as convincing as possible that she had suffered severe bleeding.

That particular night, Ji Yu had wanted to kill the nurse that was sent to harm Ru Ran but in the end, Ru Ran stopped him from doing so and suggested they use her to get to Ah Li. They agreed to act this out when she reached her three months mark. They needed to lure Ah Li out. She felt sorry for those people out there that were concern for her but she knew for the sake of luring Ah Li out, the less people who knew the better. Only Darren is in the know of their plans.

The nurse informed Ah Li's assistant regarding Ru Ran's condition. She is blackmailing him to give her money to keep her mouth shut and she wants more if they insist on her to do more harm. Ah Li told his assistant to meet up with the nurse to get the job done and silence the nurse forever as he hates loose ends. They agreed to meet up tomorrow at 10 pm. Darren who had gotten the message, starts to make arrangements. He will get the crows to come along. They need to know where is Ah Li's lair.

They had tried various methods to locate Ah Li's base but to no avail. The man is too cautious and never done any of the dirty deeds himself. Even Ken who met with Ah Li before was tricked. He was led there blindfolded but he installed a hidden tracker in his shoes but when he tried to access the data, it was all wiped out. Ah Li must have anticipated his moves and made a counter move.

Therefore, the plan is to track Ah Li's base by getting the crows to follow his henchmen without alerting them. Then abduct his henchmen once the location is secure. Darren's job tomorrow night to ensure the crows recognise the men and track. The nurse's life or death, he is not bothered, she should have known not to play with fire from the start if she doesn't plan on getting burnt. The day she agreed to cause harm to Ru Ran and Ji Yu, that was the day she had signed her death certificate.
