Du Ru Ran became an orphan at the age of 5 years old after a deliberate car accident. She was then taken in by her uncle. Life was truly tragic but being a smart girl, she managed to turn the tides around. She plans to avenge the death of her parents and her little brother who she did not get to meet in this lifetime. At that time, thank her lucky or unlucky star, she met a pair of mother and son, who gave her some warmth in her moment of total darkness. 

Years later, when they meet again, he stuck to her like a fly she could not get rid off. He kept insisting she took advantage of him when they were young and insisted that she take full responsibility for him.

20 years ago:
"Little girl, you really need to take responsibility on this young master when we are older. I am never going to let you go." He whispered into her ears. Due to his illness, he somehow grew up a little mature than peers his age. Hence, it wasn't a normal for him to be thinking about his future at such young age. In fact, since he was three years old, he had been groomed to be a fine young man in order to prepare him as he is the next heir of his prestigious family. He fell asleep with a smile on his face.

At the present:
She thought a dumb cupid made a mistake by accidentally release an arrow and the arrow went straight to a 7 year old boy and now, 20 years later, he is delusional.

"Why can't you leave me alone? I really have no time, no room for another person. I am pretty occupied with getting my revenge. Go and fly away," she said while making the hand gestures of shooing a pesky fly away.

"You really don't need to work hard on my behalf, I am touched that you worry about my well being and feeling. As long as I get to see you, that is all I require. You really don't have to do anything."

Ru Ran felt her head is going to explode, shameless, when did I, how on earth did he manage to lift himself so high that even direct language don't get to his thick skull? Fine, if you don't want to leave, I will walk away.

True to her thoughts she walked away huffing and puffing, fuming at the fly she can't get off.

"Wifey wait up!!!"

"Seriously, what do you see in me?" she asked impatiently. 

Instead of answering her immediately, he spun he around to face him, pushed her to lean against a nearby wall, locked her body with his legs and arm in order to stop her from escaping. His facial expression turn serious, gone the silly demeanor he had put up earlier. 

Her heartbeat increased and her palms started to sweat. She stuttered, "What.. What.. Just what do you plan to do?" 

"I am going to answer your question. Look me in the eyes. I see a beautiful lady, a stubborn one, cold exterior but inside she is kind and afraid to get hurt. She gave me a kiss 20 years ago and gave me the strength to live and from that day onwards, I have given my heart to her."

My reflection in your eyes

"Using our latest scan, we discovered that small mass is an implant placed by someone in Miss Ai Sha brain," explained the doctor.


"Miss Ai Sha condition reminded me of a similar case that I read. It was a rare case of a war General that became a retard without any brain injury. Prior to that he behaved abnormally and frequently blank out. He even claimed his mind was being controlled by someone and people thought he was going cuckoo. Some labeled him as schizophrenic, autopsy done on him found a small device that could transmit signal to prefrontal and premotor cortex taking control of his voluntary movement planning. The device was planted by the enemy to turn the General against his own country but they did not expect the general to resist their command and ended up frying his brain," explained Dr Jie.


Ken could not believe his ears. Everything sounded surreal like a scene from a sci-fi movie. What the heck with espionage and technology many years back. The device in Ai Sha's head must be more advance. Doctor Jie kept quiet giving time to the couple to digest the information he had just imparted.


"What can I do?" Can it be removed?" she asked.


"I am afraid the answer is no, from the mass size, it can be said that the device had been in situ for many years and your brain tissue had already accepted it as its own, taking it out pose a high risk to damaging normal brain structures around it and you may be left with neurological deficits post removal" Doctor Jie answered gravely.


He had discussed with a team of experts and they all came to one conclusion, leave the thing alone. Ken's complexion became pale and he subconsciously gripped Ai Sha's hand tightly. Ai Sha feeling his fear and anxiety could not help but pat his hand consoling him. It came as a surprise that she'd experience role reversal with him. She felt despair but witnessing his reaction, another type of  emotion bloomed in her heart, not giving her much chance to wallow in despair.


"Is there nothing we can do?" asked Ken desperately. If he could trade place with her he would. His heart felt pained for her. Why is life so unfair?


" Sorry??!!!! IS THAT EVEN A SOLUTION???!!! " Ken just lost it. He could not keep calm any longer. He didn't want to face reality.


" Ken, it is not Doctor Jie's fault, the operation is too high risk...


"We are not giving up! What about radiotherapy to destroy it???!!" asked Ken throwing out whatever medical knowledge that he is aware of.


"The risk for neurological impairment is high as well, not as high as the surgery but still high as high dose of radiation required to reach the device...


Ken slammed the table hard that it broke into two. Ai Sha wanted to shake the man hard! Why is he acting more upset that her? She apologise softly to Doctor Jie while trying to drag him out of the consultation room but he refused to bulge.


"What about getting a programmer, not many of these  device models are available, if you can guess the model and the code, I think you might have a chance," suggested Doctor Jie.
