Du Ru Ran became an orphan at the age of 5 years old after a deliberate car accident. She was then taken in by her uncle. Life was truly tragic but being a smart girl, she managed to turn the tides around. She plans to avenge the death of her parents and her little brother who she did not get to meet in this lifetime. At that time, thank her lucky or unlucky star, she met a pair of mother and son, who gave her some warmth in her moment of total darkness. 

Years later, when they meet again, he stuck to her like a fly she could not get rid off. He kept insisting she took advantage of him when they were young and insisted that she take full responsibility for him.

20 years ago:
"Little girl, you really need to take responsibility on this young master when we are older. I am never going to let you go." He whispered into her ears. Due to his illness, he somehow grew up a little mature than peers his age. Hence, it wasn't a normal for him to be thinking about his future at such young age. In fact, since he was three years old, he had been groomed to be a fine young man in order to prepare him as he is the next heir of his prestigious family. He fell asleep with a smile on his face.

At the present:
She thought a dumb cupid made a mistake by accidentally release an arrow and the arrow went straight to a 7 year old boy and now, 20 years later, he is delusional.

"Why can't you leave me alone? I really have no time, no room for another person. I am pretty occupied with getting my revenge. Go and fly away," she said while making the hand gestures of shooing a pesky fly away.

"You really don't need to work hard on my behalf, I am touched that you worry about my well being and feeling. As long as I get to see you, that is all I require. You really don't have to do anything."

Ru Ran felt her head is going to explode, shameless, when did I, how on earth did he manage to lift himself so high that even direct language don't get to his thick skull? Fine, if you don't want to leave, I will walk away.

True to her thoughts she walked away huffing and puffing, fuming at the fly she can't get off.

"Wifey wait up!!!"

"Seriously, what do you see in me?" she asked impatiently. 

Instead of answering her immediately, he spun he around to face him, pushed her to lean against a nearby wall, locked her body with his legs and arm in order to stop her from escaping. His facial expression turn serious, gone the silly demeanor he had put up earlier. 

Her heartbeat increased and her palms started to sweat. She stuttered, "What.. What.. Just what do you plan to do?" 

"I am going to answer your question. Look me in the eyes. I see a beautiful lady, a stubborn one, cold exterior but inside she is kind and afraid to get hurt. She gave me a kiss 20 years ago and gave me the strength to live and from that day onwards, I have given my heart to her."

"I am going to kill that stinking man!!! That bastard!!! He is shittier than my father a thousand times!!!!" Ken vented his anger in frustration while Ai Sha lowered her head in sadness.


Pacing around the room multiple times while cursing the old man a billionth times, only then Ken realised Ai Sha's reaction. "F***" he cursed under his breath. He was too damned absorbed with his own feelings that he failed to see her reaction. He approached her and enveloped her into his warm embrace.


"Sorry, I was too insensitive! I shouldn't have...


She silenced him by placing her finger on his lips and hushed his next word.


"All my life, love is something conditional. It had always been, make us proud, then we will love you. If you fail, we can replace you anytime. Don't apologise because you showed me what loving unconditional means. I am someone with no value in my own eyes yet when I see you looking at me, I see I worth the world. Thank you for loving me...


She started foaming at her mouth, this time she no longer blank out but experienced a generalised seizure. She convulsed in his arm, her body heating up rapidly. Ken shouted for his men to get Dr Jie urgently. Dr Jie appeared in an instant and administered anti epileptic medicine immediately. Ai Sha did not stop convulsing despite the medication.


"Dr Jie, save her!!!!! Why is your medication not working??!!"


"Keep calm! I am trying my best here, your shouting is not helping, guards take him away!!" retorted Dr Jie.


"No.. Do what you have to, I promise I will behave!"


Ji Yu had rushed over after he received a call from Ken's men. Ru Ran wanted to come along but he forbade her afraid that their plans would be exposed to Ah Li. Seeing how tense Ken is he understood what is it to be in those shoes. He had experienced it once and God forbid he doesn't want to experience it again. Out of habit he chanted the mantra he learnt from the spirit master.


Ken who was filled with million of emotions managed to calm down hearing the chanted mantra. He is grateful for Ji Yu's presence, he adjusted his emotions and breathing then started to chant along. Dr Jie decided to induce coma for Ai Sha without discussing with Ken. It was part of the treatment for her status epilepticus, prolonged seizure, the only way to save her from frying her brain. This was what he felt is the best medical option for Ai Sha. With her in a deep coma, it will suppress the stimulation from the implant. This would buy the cousins time to find a permanent solution for her, the coma ideally should be less than 2 weeks to avoid complications of immobilization and deconditioning.


Only after he felt she was truly stable that he explained to the two men. 


"She had a status epilepticus just now, I had to take over her respiratory function to protect her airway. I had medically induce a coma in her, to avoid her brain from frying up, it seemed those people on the other end anxious for results and does not care a whit the consequences on her brain, that was why her symptoms are evolving so damn fast, " explained Dr Jie. 


The two men kept silent not disrupting him till the end. They took note of every word he said. Dr Jie then excused himself. 


Meanwhile, a deity looking old man standing outside the building on a tree continued to chant his mantra while looking in at them.
