Winning smile

When Meilin got home, her mother had already cleaned up the mess she had made.

Helian Linx ran out to greet her daughter. "Hello Meilin sweetheart" She showed her signature winning smile. Only close friends and family knew that this smile was to cover up pain and hatred. Meilin eyes hardened. She spoke soft to her mother. "What happened mum?" Linx smile faded. Her face went expressionless as she thought about what had happened.

~4 hours earlier at an abandoned warehouse~

"Look, I know you're upset but Meilin needs to know" "Why!?" Helian Linx sat on the floor sobbing. The news had hit her badly. Lu Feng looked down at the woman who had raised his daughter with pity. He looked at the sky in despair. "My sister is trying to take over the company to impress a man" Lu Feng spilled the bad information. Linx started calming down. "Meilin definitely has the skills to run the companies and take down your sister" Lu Feng smiled at her. "You still have half a year before we're going to tell her" Linx remembered that her daughter's birthday was the next year. She looked at Lu Feng."Are you okay?" "Yeah" Lu Feng couldn't wait until his daughter would finally acknowledge him as her father.

~Present~

Linx smiled. "Do you actually know what you want for Christmas?" Meilin rolled her eyes at her mother's attempt to change the subject. Christmas was in a few weeks but she hadn't gotten anything for her family yet. "Actually there is something that I would like" "Well what is it?" Linx was happy that her daughter wanted something. Normally Meilin would ask for a cheque for a charity organisation or orphanage. "Could I maybe have a new motorbikes for christmas?" Linx groaned "Why on earth do you want a motorbike? Can't you be a innocent girl for a second?" Meilin laughed at her mother's antics. "Why? Everyone except for you thinks that I am a innocent girl" Not only mum but also Ling family. But Meilin didn't say it out loud. "What about a new dress?" Meilin looked at her mother in exasperation. Linx knew very well that Meilin only had to lift a finger for someone to shower her with gifts. She thought about how her daughter acted in public. Meilin would act like an innocent goddess like girl but at home she would revert back to her usual cold and aloof self.
