Melody looked up at the receptionist and spoke "Hello, my name is Melo-"
"Ah, Melody the new exchange student. Do you mind waiting a couple of minutes so I can direct you to your class?"
Melody nodded and sat down in the chairs in the receptionists room. She bided her time, staring at the string of red light in front of her. She wasn't hallucinating right? Her class would start soon and she'd need a clear head. Could the red string just g-
With another blinding flash of light her vision turned completely to white before cooling down slightly. When she looked again, the string was no longer there. Was this what she thought it was??
She bit her lip and looked up, trying to find something to test her powers on. Ah! The receptionist. She imagined the receptionist dying her blonde hair rainbow.
Sure enough, another blinding flash of light came into her vision, and the receptionist soon had rainbow hair tied into a ponytail. The receptionist looked up, and through a slight reflection on her computer screen... realised that her hair had changed colours...
The receptionist was shocked... but not at the fact that her hair had changed colours. She looked at melody and said one word..
"Magician??..."
After hearing this, Melody wasn't sure how to respond. Was she a magician. She regretted trying her magic in the open immediately.
The receptionist saw a confused look on Melody's face and quickly figured out the problem. This exchange student probably came from a place where there were barely any magicians. That's why she had never figured out her powers.
The receptionist's eyes gleamed with a strange light, realising that if SHE was the one that presented this exchange student to the rest of the school as HER find, then she would certainly get a promotion from a mere receptionist.
With this in mind, the receptionist changed her attitude into a flattering one.
"Miss Melody, let me take you to your class"
Melody stood up, noticing the odd gleam of light from the receptionist. She may of been young, but it didn't mean that she couldn't read a person. Judging from what she saw, being a magician was a big deal, and somehow the receptionist wanted to use her for her own gain.
Currently, Melody didn't know enough about this situation to act, but she could only watch carefully. Soon enough though, Melody paused in the middle of the corridor, her whole body aching like hell. She bent over, and quickly pulled out a handkerchief.
Soon blots of dark red dotted the handkerchief. Melody noticed though, that the blood seemed to have a myriad of colours underneath, as if the blood was only a layer covering a rainbow underneath. She knew her own blood. When she had gotten a bleeding nose before, it was plain red.
The receptionist turned around and almost leapt in fright. Thoughts were running across the receptionists' mind, mainly worried if she would be fired, for not taking good care of this magician.
Sadly, the receptionist did not have time to act, as a teacher strolled up behind Melody, and seeing her blood gasped in shock.
