Chapter 9

The next morning, Melody rose again, and remembered that she had school quickly. She cooked her breakfast quickly and wolfed it down.

Her feelings on school were somewhat neutral. One one side, she could try to figure out this world a little bit more, but she figured that she already got the gist of it. The world was pretty much the same as before, except for the fact that there were some magicians dotted within.

The thing that she wanted to try the most was magic... well because it was magic! She hadn't given up her fantasy of pretending to be the characters from her favourite animes and mangas. She was deep in thought when her phone buzzed.

A notification had popped up onto her screen, a DM from TP

TP: Your uniform should've appeared outside your house right now. Enjoy your first day of school.

Melody stood up and walked out of her seat, and sure enough a small brown package was outside her door. Opening it, she found a typical school uniform...

Her phone buzzed again, and she reached for it...

Her body immediately shook with a tremor and time seemed to freeze. For a moment, a crimson light came out of the phone and went into her body.

Melody dropped to the ground immediately, feeling that something was off. The hand that touched her phone seemed to be pulsating.

She took a moment to recover, and she noticed that her hand had become a normal colour, and the phone seemed like it always did.

Melody changed into her uniform, feeling slightly weird. She had gone to school in her past life... it's just that they did not require students to wear a uniform. She also noticed that there was a small plain backpack, perfect for storing textbooks... when she got them.

Soon enough. she whipped out her handy phone and it directed her to school. She plugged in her earbuds and hummed a slight tune on her way to school.

On her way to school, she noticed a girl skipping weirdly with her earbuds in as well. Melody curiously stared at the girl, wondering what would make her that way.

Instantly, she found her ears fine tuning to the girls music... a sort of weird incantation. What was this? Melody wrinkled her brows and decided not to focus on that and simply continue to school.

After a while, she reached it and nodded to the guards as she continued in. Melody wondered where the reception was and her eyesight become blinding white for a moment. When the light faded, she noticed a red string of light seeming to lead her somewhere.

She shook her head, slightly perturbed at the weird string she was seeing and tried not to look at the ground in hopes that it would fade away. She turned back and asked the guards where the reception was, and they gave her the directions.

As she followed it, she noticed the path that she went along was this red string of light. Nope, just a coincidence...
