Traversing the prairie in leisure as if walking in a park, looking at some the beautiful scenery, far away from them, at the camp of hunters strategizing on how to complete their objectives, even at the point of back-stabbing others, a commotion occurred.
The respective camp of hunters surrounding the prairie was in a mess, making a lot of noise as people found out that some of their important belongings went missing. Due to the tense atmosphere that permeated the air, a collision between competitive groups caused more anger, and conflicts aroused.
And also due to their noise, beasts far away were attracted.
Meanwhile, the two people responsible for the chaos stood on the beach at the lake. Looking at the mirror-like water, knowing what kind of intense undercurrent was brewing underneath the calm surface, Lene was troubled one what to choose. Would he follow or not?
Not knowing the full capability of the man before her, Lene could only speak what was in her mind. "How will you let us get on the small island?" She grumbled angrily. "I will never swim in that poisonous water even if you kill me!"
Reid glance at her and said. "Don`t be so irritable. I have away."
"Wha-What are you doing!? Let me down!" Lene said as she felt flustered after being princess carried. As she felt their altitude rising, she could only clutch at Reid, putting her arms around his neck.
"Do you want me to let you down?" Reid asked as he flew towards the small island at moderate speed.
"Are you asking me that?!" Lene asked angrily. Her face was slightly red from anger and shame as it was her first time being carried by a man.
Peeking secretly at the lemon-colored haired girl on his arms, looking at her voluptuous chest pressing in him. Reid smiled faintly. 'She does have the capital to be arrogant.'
Feeling a gaze from someone, Lene looked up and saw Reid looking at her capital. She smiles proudly and happily in her heart. 'Hmmph! Looking so unmoved, but restless inside. No one can resist this lady's charm!'
If Reid could read minds, he would surely chuckle at her thought...
After flying for some time, the two arrived on the small island, oval in shape, and has an area of a football field.
Landing safely on the white sand beach, Lene immediately got off from Reid. "Taking advantage of me. I must get at least one Pristine White Rose!"
Walking inland, Reid smiles at her words and said. "You can pick as many as you want as long as you can afford to go far."
Lene gritted her teeth in hate a followed behind Reid like a young duckling, afraid of losing his mother.
She was about to speak some curses but stopped as soon as they stepped on the soil. Her mouth opened widely in shook as she saw beautiful scenery. A sea of flowers made up of Pristine White Rose!
"This... Is this real?!" Lene muttered as she tried to pinch her cheek. "Ouch! It's painful! I'm not dreaming! But how is this possible! How can this small island manage to support so many Pristine White Rose?!"
Even Reid was puzzled at the sight before him. It is known that a single Pristine White Rose was already enough to scour a small island outside the Underground World barren after blooming as it took too much vitality from the land. It was confirmed after a few comprehensive experiments.
Observing his surrounding, Reid looked down on his feet and kicked the sand, revealing some kind of white substance. At this moment, he understood. "Bones?"
A strong wind suddenly blew as it picked up some sand that covered the ground before them, revealing several bones of snake beasts, entangled with thorny roots of Pristine White Rose. Then, a 10 meters diameter snake beast emerged from the water behind them.
"It`s a Gold-Level Frigid Poison Boa!" Lene exclaimed at the sight of the beast and readied her weapon as she thought that they were spotted. She was ready to attack but Reid stopped her, pulled her aside, and let the beast passed by.
The two watched as the Frigid Poison Boa sacrificed itself by exploding into a rain of blood and flesh, white the bone scattered around. The Beast Core flew to the center and melted into the ground.
"So there was a constant sacrifice here to ensure the growth of all these precious flowers. White Mother Gorgon knows how to take care of flowers..." Lene muttered in surprise as she saw the flowers grew even more vibrant as they absorbed the offered vitality.
"Right. She knows that blood is thicker and more precious than water. Whatever that means." Reid said as he crouched down and plucked several blooming Pristine White Flowers.
Tick! Tick! Tick!
Suddenly, the small island trembled, albeit slightly, it did not escape Reid's perception.
"What's happening?!" Lene asked nervously.
The two watched as the mirror-like water undulated into raging waves before it turned into a deadly white mist. And from the mist, something emerged as a hundred meters shadow came. Several pairs of eyes stared at them, no. More precisely on the island.
As the obstructing white mist slowly dispersed, a hundred-meter monstrous beast appeared. It has a humanoid torso and lower body of a snake covered in white scales, six pairs of eyes, a normal nose and mouth, ear fins, and hair of thousands of hissing black snakes.
It was a monstrous beauty that could not be denied.
Lene looked pale as she saw the beast. Seeing it getting closer to them, she held her breath instinctively so as not to be noticed and muttered with fear and anxiety. "W-White Mother Gorgon...!"
'So this is the White Mother Gorgon? She is much bigger than I thought.' Reid looked at the beast with interest.
Boarding the island, the White Mother Gorgon observed the surroundings, and seeing no other beings nearby, she locked her gaze at the blooming white flowers. She grabbed a handful of it and put them in her mouth.
"S-She's eating them as a snack! Is she not afraid of being poisoned?!" Lene exclaimed in shock.
Reid looked as Lenel amusedly. 'This girl is too unstable. Her fear let her forget that the White Mother Gorgon is more venomous than these flowers.'
Lene watched in amazement as she saw Reid crouched down and uprooted some Pristine White Rose.
She looked at him in the eyes and heard him spoke as he carried her princessly. "We have what we wanted. It is time to leave."
Then, she saw him taking out a three Pristine White Rose and handing them at her. He said. "Your share."
Disregarding the angered White Mother Gorgon, the two flew away into the sky, escaping from the raging waves that were destroying everything on its path. When it reached the beach, it dispersed into a poisonous mist and spread across the prairie.
From above, the two watched as the hunters below scurried away in fear as they saw the poisonous white mist corroding everything it passed by.
"Fuck! Someone angered the White Mother Gorgon!"
"What?! Someone went to the small island?!!"
"Poisonous mist incoming! The White Mother Gorgon is angry!!!"
"RUN!!! RUN!!!"
Seeing a deadly mist devouring everything on its path, the Hunters who planned to take advantage of the chaos gave up their thoughts and retreated as well. No kidding. The poisonous mist could even poison to death a Diamond-level beast. If it were them, there would be no bones left to their corpses.
After retreating far away from the territory of White Mother Gorgon, they all sighed and could only give up the mission. Looking at the tall shadow of the White Mother Gorgon from afar, they left decisively. Living was much better than anything after all.
Meanwhile, Reid and Lene have already left the Black Mud Marsh. Reid has decided to go back to the Underground City to complete the special mission and become Adamantium Rank Hunter.
