I can't seem to move my body at all, and it feels like a blindfold was put iver my eyes, so I can't see what's going on, I hear a conversation going on and a male voice asks with concern.
"do you think we can heal this young man properly?"
a different male voice replies.
"yes I believe so, it would be a real waste if we can't."
I then ask myself in my thoughts.
"did they pick me up, when I passed out?"
I can't be certain that these people are friends just yet, but they did say that they can heal me, and if it's true that they are going to heal me then maybe I can be at ease, and then I can ask them why they decided to save me, I then wonder to myself.
"maybe these people are saving me out of the goodness of their hearts?"
even with that reasoning, they didn't need to put a blindfold on me, and then another thought popped up about being captured by bandits, but that didn't make sense, because I've never heard of bandits kidnapping people, usually they just kill their targets and steal their stuff, after a while of thinking about it, I suddenly feel the floor beneath me start to shake softly and I hear wheels rolling over on the dirt, I then think to myself.
"I must be on some sort of transport carriage or something."
I begin to panic, because my fear dying or disappearing without anyone knowing what kind of fate befell me, as I shuffle around while sitting, I shout.
"hey let me go!"
a soft female voice responds warmly.
"don't worry you're in the company of friends."
my breathing relaxes a bit after hearing what seems to be a friendly voice, and then I feel a soft hand on my good shoulder and the same female voice calmly says.
"relax, you'll be fine."
with that I get myself to calm down a bit, and I think to myself.
"you're fine Collin, things will be alright, now think about it rationally, if they wanted you dead they would have done it by now."
I then ask her.
"so why am I blindfolded?"
she answers.
"you see, we help out a lot of people, and the blindfold is meant for our own protection."
I ask.
"is it because, you guys don't want anyone to see or know, your base of operations."
she responds.
"yes, you are spot on."
I reply relieved.
"ah, I see, that makes sense."
she replies.
"I'm glad I was able to put your mind at ease."
I relax myself and sit back as I sigh.
"thank you."
she puts her hand on my shoulder again and says with a warm voice.
"you should get some sleep, we still have some ways to go before we get to where we're going."
once I finally get some reassurance that I'll be okay, I slowly drift away to sleep. I wake up a little while late and notice that I no longer had the blindfold over my eyes, and my assumptions about being transported around in carriage was correct, except it wasn't roofless one, it was one that has a canopy covering the top, I then take a quick look around to see if the woman; who was keeping me company earlier, was around but there are no signs of anyone else around, I then think to myself.
"I guess it doesn't matter, I'll just get out of this carriage and take a look around."
I try to get up, but a sharp pain runs through my body that's halts me, I sit back down and wait around, a few minutes pass by and I hear a couple of footsteps just outside the carriage, I focus my attention to the only opening at the back, and then two people emerge from the opening, a female and male dressed in all black climb through, the female says.
"oh my, it looks like our patient has woken up from his nap."
she adjusts herself closer to me, to the point where her endowed chest bounces right before my eyes, I blush and think to myself.
"you have Rosie, Collin, resist the boobs."
I then shift my gaze to her face and see that she looks somewhere around her mid twenties or so, she also has short black her, black eyes, and a noticable scar on her cheek, she places both her hands on my dislocated shoulder and starts says to herself.
"Great Lord Mauri, grant me power to heal this poor soul."
she then chants.
"healing white light."
her hands start glowing, I then ask myself curiously.
"did she just say, Great Lord Mauri?"
I try to think back swearing that I've heard of that name from somewhere before, but for some reason can't recall from where, she continues to heal my body, the swollen fist that I used to beat up the hobgoblin, and after doing my back, she asks.
"can you move now?"
I slowly get up and start to move around and notice that the pain I was feeling earlier was gone, I then give her warm smile and say.
"thank you."
she replies.
"you don't need to thank me, if anything I should be thanking you."
she then smiles at me, but this smile was different from other one, it had a more sinister feel to it, and in that moment I felt a cold chill run down my spine, I then think to myself.
"that's strange, why is she thanking me?"
the three of us get out of the carriage and as soon as I get out I take a look at my surroundings and see a huge building with torches lighting up the outside, and as I continue to looking around the woman, taps my shoulder and says.
"please drink this, it should help replenish whatever mana you lost."
I grab the small tube that is about the size of my middle finger, and I quickly drink the green liquid, and as I finish drinking it, I had a horrifying realization of where I heard of the name Mauri and I think to myself.
"Mauri is that psychotic monster who killed her victims and ate them."
I look at the tube in horror and dropped it, and then before I realized it, the male chants.
"paralyze."
I hit the ground hard, and my vision once again fades to black.
