Demon Collin

After my unreal encounter with Damien at the Loas Angeles International Airport, I spent my two

days back home in a very familiar Japan with my mom, and Sister pondering what to decide.

"even though it feels great being back here with loved ones that I thought were long gone from me, I shouldn't give in to my selfish desires that will allow Damien to grow more powerful."

I smile at Shiho who is in the kitchen helping my mom prepare lunch and think to myself.

"being able to come back here with you, mom and dad, has been great, but I'm sorry that I can't stay, there is too much at stake for me to stay."

Shiho notices me and asks.

"you okay?"

I nod.

"yeah, I'm still just soaking it all in."

my mom who is wearing familiar clothes, a plain white t shirt, underneath her light pink apron, and a worn out light blue pair of jeans, turns to me and says.

"I'm happy seeing you have a good outlook on life nowadays."

after eating lunch with them, I say to my mom.

"I'll be back, I'm going to the park for a bit."

she asks worried.

"oh is something the matter."

I shake my head.

"no, I just want to think about some stuff and the fresh air would do me some good."

she replies apprehensively.

"be careful out there, we were lucky that you returned to us."

I try to put her mind at ease.

"I won't go far, and I'll also call you once I arrive at the park."

still feeling worried about me she replies with a reluctant voice.

"okay."

she then says to Shiho.

"go accompany your brother."

Shiho.

"okay will do."

I sigh.

"there is no need, I don't want to bother her."

she grabs my arm and say with a smile.

"oh I don't have anything better to do, so it won't be a bother coming with you."

I know they have every right to be worried about me, but I really wanted some time alone to really think things through about what I'm going to do when Damien shows up, because here on earth I don't have any magic or mana to fight him, I then look to Shiho and say.

"alright, just don't blame me if you get bored."

she pulls on my arm with bright smile.

"it's fine, just having you back with us is more than enough for me."

she pauses.

"even if it's boring."

she pulls on my arm and we leave the house together where we our greeted with the warm sun shining down on us.

"should we get ice cream?"

I respond.

"sure."

after going to convenience store, we come out with multi pack containing six Parm-Chocolate Ice Cream Bars in the box, I then ask her.

"isn't this too much?"

she shakes her head.

"no, we'll just save them for later when we get home."

as we walk to the park, she asks me.

"so when do you plan on asking out Emma?"

I respond.

"why does she like me? I'm not very cool."

she replies with a displeased voice.

"what are you talking about? you've changed so much ever since you finished school."

she clears her throat and then composes herself.

"I showed her some of your amateur mixed martial arts matches that I recorded when you competed at tournaments in the states."

with a puzzled face, I think to myself.

"what the hell, I always remembered training in a dojo but I never had any memories actually competing in tournaments."

she continues.

"anyways she smitten by you after she saw your matches and saw how cute you were in person."

take a moment to think it about and answer.

"I don't think I will asm her out since I already have someone in mind."

I think to myself.

"more like three on my mind, but I can't tell her that."

confused on my answers she replies.

"what you've never told me before."

she sighs.

"poor Emma, and she was so looking forward to you asking her out."

I reply.

"sorry."

she grabs an ice cream bar from the box and being completely nosy she asks.

"do I know this special someone that you have in mind."

I shake my head.

"no, but she is amazing."

I then smile at her.

"hopefully you'll meet her one day."

she giggles and teases.

"oh come on, tell me who it is that has gotten a hold of your heart."

but a familiar voice interrupts from behind us.

"oh do tell us who it is Daisuke."

Shiho replies.

"who the hell are you?"

I turn around and to my surprise I find myself staring at someone who looks exactly like me, a man with jet black spiky hair, light brown eyes, and some healed scars around his face, he grins at me.

"oh don't mind me, I'm just a good friend of your brother."

she looks at me and asks with a concerned voice.

"do you know him?"

I look at her and wonder.

"how is she not reacting on how he looks exactly like me?"

I then realize.

"she isn't reacting by the way he looks because that is the way I looked as Collin, and I currently look like Daisuke."

I my hands on her shoulders and say.

"listen I'm going to talk to him alone, so just give me a couple of minutes."

she looks at him suspiciously and ask me.

"are you in trouble?"

I shake my head and lie to her.

"no, but before we left Japan to visit our dad in the states, I told my friend that I would have little talk about training him."

still feeling worried, she replies.

"okay but I'm coming back in a few minutes."

she then point at him.

"you better not do anything to my brother or I'll call the cops on you."

as she walks away leaving me with him, I ask.

"who are you? and what are you doing looking like me?"

he grins.

"don't worry Collin, I came here to take you to go see Damien, he's waiting for your answer."

I ask.

"already? I thought I still had time before giving him an answer."

he replies.

"he gave you enough time here it's time to tell him your choice."

I scan my surrounding and don't see Shiho around, I then reply.

"okay let's make this quick."

he grins.

"good, follow me."

I think to myself while following him.

"I don't know how to feel about seeing something that is using the appeaeance of my other life."

he takes me to a secluded alley and says.

"Damien should be arriving in a few moments."

I stare at him and ask.

"are you supposed to be my replacement if I refuse to join Damien?"

he smirks.

"you don't want to know the answer to that."

I think to myself.

"damn it this I should have known Damien was going to pull something off, but either way I can't allow this imposter to take my place."

after a few moments passed by, a sudden gush of wind followed by a quick blinding flash of light, I shield my eyes with my hands and ask.

"is that the magic door?"

Damien replies while stepping out of the door shaped light.

"yes my dear Collin, this is the gateway back."

he then looks at me and asks.

"so have you made a choice yet?"

without hesitating I respond.

"I will not join."

he sighs and replies with a voice filled with disappointment.

"that's a shame, we could've done great things together and stop the Demon King."

Damien looks at the imposter and says.

"you know what needs to be done, I'll leave this door accessible so you can come back to me."

Damien steps back into the door and says.

"goodbye forever Collin."

the imposter steps in front of me and says.

"your time has come to an end now."

my body gets into fighting position instinctively and I prepare myself to fight for my life.
