Vanilla Cake & Dream come true.

"How was it?!"

"I didn't get the job.."

"What?! What is that Prince thinking!! You're so talented!"

"I guess I wasn't good enou.."

"Don't you dare say that, you!..."

"Hey! Don't throw my cake away!"

"I want to throw this cake on his face!"

"Haha! I'm sorry, I was just joking. I got the job."

"Really?! Yay, I knew you could do it. Our prince is the best! He is...Praises!!!..."

"Yeah, yeah of-course"

I replied back to Rebecca, amused at her reaction. Just a second ago she was taunting him and now she can't stop praising him.

Ignoring her I focused my attention towards my one true love. Vanilla Cake!! The only one besides Rebecca, who has been with me through my happiest to my darkest times and who never left my side.

"I love you cake!"

I sliced two pieces of the perfectly round cake, topped up with soft golden icing. I gave one slice to Rebecca, who was still babbling on and took one for myself.

I dug my fork in and let the heavenly cake melt into my mouth. Feeling the sweet, moist and buttery taste. Filling me with delight, suddenly everything seemed so relaxed and all my worries were thrown out the window.

"Is it really weird that I feel more happy eating a vanilla cake then I did when I got the job?!"

"Nope. Totally relatable." Rebecca replied while gobbling up her piece as if someone would come and steal it off her.

I shouldn't judge her though, I was in the same state.

As more and more sweetness melted into my tongue, I remembered the time when I walked a whole hour just to get a slice. One time I even almost lost my life.

My weirdest memory of all was 5 years ago. I celebrated my 18th birthday with a strange homeless man. It actually wasn't so bad and what's more strange is that until now I have never tasted a better vanilla cake than that. I visited the same store multiple times and tried every single pastry store I could think of but none tasted the same. I even attempted baking it myself but of course it turned out to be a total disaster.

Through my cake failures I did manage to attain new knowledge through the process. I can actually bake now, thanks to all the YouTube tutorials.

"Did I ever tell you that I celebrated my 18th Birthday with a random homeless guy?"

"No. Was he hot?"

"I didn't see his face..but he helped me cheer up after what Ashley.."

"Let the past stay in the past Haylsl, I'm sure he doesn't even remember you." Rebecca replied with a long face. She held a look of concern.

I thought her reaction was weird but I brushed it off. I know she worries about me a lot, especially if it's anything to do with my past and I'm thankful for that.

"I know. I don't live in my past anymore" I responded, giving her my brightest smile.

But some things just can't be forgotten and only I know how it haunts me every night.

My life is finally falling into the right places so I try to push aside those terrible thoughts and finish off the last bit of leftovers.

"Sh*t! Look at the time. We only have 2 hours to get ready!" Rebecca exclaimed before jumping up in a hurry.

"Late for what?" I asked her, trying to act confused.

"Party. Organized by my big boss. Don't tell me you forgot?!"

"Oh..right..sorry I don't think I can go.."

"Don't go back on your words! I clearly remember you promised to accompany me if you get the job. In fact I even recorded it, wanna listen?!", she yelled, not giving me any chance to talk back.

"But I don't have anything to wear."

"Don't you worry about that or did you forget I'm a designer. I have our perfect outfits ready!" She shot back, hiding her mischievous grin.

"Alright, convince me."

"There's going to be lots of vanilla cake. Baked by the best, one and only pastry chef Duff Goldman. She declared.

"What?! Why didn't you say so.`` I exclaimed as I hurriedly followed behind her.

She had truly hit my weak spot, how could I resist tasting anything that's been touched by the pastry god himself.

Rebecca works as one of the new intern designers in "Heavenly Elegance". It is a newly opened fashion brand and has already managed to win many designer awards. It skyrocketed over the past few years and it can even be named as one of the world's top fashion brands. It can be considered to be in par with luxury brands such as Gucci, Channel, Prada, Louis Vuitton and so on.

Although it has become a huge hit no one knows the real founder of the brand.

Even the employees are kept in the dark.

However, the stand-in CEO is one of our country's top bachelor "Sky". The eldest son of the royal Duke. Thus, the reason it attracted so many higher ups, including the royal family.

It is said that all the popular designs are personally hand drawn by the secret CEO, him or herself.

I followed Rebecca up towards her room and into her big walk - in closet. It is filled with all the unworn luxury items. From Chanel handbag to red bottom heels. All of which are a gift from her super rich parents.

Although she had everything handed to her, she wanted to prove her worth by standing on her own two feet. I admire her.

"Here it is,'' Rebecca said excitedly while handing me the long royal blue dress.

"Wow..this is so gorgeous. How much was it?"

"I made them both," she replied. Proudly holding up her gorgeous yellow dress.

"You're so talented Becca. Talented enough to open up your own fashion line".

"Someday.." She said, drifting off into her own fantasy world.

Just at that moment, someone rang our doorbell. I looked towards Becca, giving her the look that asked "are we expecting someone?"

She gave me a mischievous grin, lifting both her brows.

"Go, let them in."
