He was situated beside me, detached from our discussion but was rather enjoying it. I didn't want to ruin his mood but my curiosity got the better of me.

"Prince Elijah?" I called him and he turned to face me.

"If you don't mind, why were you so mad at Prince Kole?" I queried. Although I was happy he left, I could feel something amiss between the two brothers. More the reason I needed a clarification, if I am to be a good personal assistant to him, I must know all the ins and outs. I should know and understand the people he considers his own and the ones his distant acquaintance, even if they are his blood. Royal families are different to that of a commoner and since I've already chosen this path, I must be on the lookout at all times.

He took a moment to reply but when he did, it was not what I had expected. He held a perplexed look and an uncomfortably still posture.

"Even princes are not immune to brotherly rivalry." He replied, still holding that quiet smile but which quickly changed into a cold line. "But, I must warn you Hayley. Stay far away from Prince Kole and I'm saying this more for your own good. I know what his intentions are and by now you must do too."

I tilted my head, confused about his warning.

He smiled. "I know you're smart and won't be swayed by his little tricks." He lifted his hand over my head but then stopped midway and placed it back beside him. "Sorry, I thought I saw something in your hair." He explained.

I nodded lightly in acknowledgment and let him continue.

"He's a lot more than just a playboy and he can not be trusted. The next time he decides to annoy you, you can contact either me or Robert."

"I understand." I responded. Like all the novels and the past history of the royal family, there was a royal war at the palace and I was right in the middle. A part of or rather, witnessing a royal war between the two brothers. "Could the war have started due to the secret lover he mentioned earlier?" I pondered. My imagination ran wild in my head as I felt he wasn't telling me the full story but I couldn't ask him for all the juicy gossip. That would be rude, maybe I can ask Mr. Robert when we are alone. My imagination ran wild at the silence filled car-ride as I thought of all the possible reasons that caused the rivalry between the two brothers, until Prince Elijah broke the quiet space.

"Hayley?"

"Yes?" I sat up straight and answered, returning back to reality.

"Are you feeling alright?" He asked with a smug expression.

"I am..Why? Is something wrong?" I asked in return, unsure. He kept his eyes on me with an unwavering gaze, with a look of amusement plastered on his face.

"You're really something." He finally spoke. "Where did you learn to make all those faces, you looked like you were planning something mischievous." He chuckled, running his hand through his dark hair. At this point, I wasn't worried about the ugly faces I must have made but rather, I was occupied. How could anyone look that good. He was effortlessly beautiful and even more so when his fingers ran through the soft strands of his still wet hair. "See, you're doing it again." He mentioned again. This time I looked away in embarrassment because the person I was admiring was right in front of me.

"Sorry, I..didn't mean to.." I replied, while looking out the window at an empty pathway of the street. Realising we were almost home, I felt a little disappointed at the thought but I managed to keep that thought locked in.

"Don't be, it's refreshing to see." Seeing my discomfort he started to ease my embarrassed phase and it seemed to work.

"Here." I pinched both my cheeks and showed him another one of my refreshing faces. He fell into a laughing fit, which managed to rid the uncomfortness out altogether.

"We're here." Mr. Robert announced. Throughout the car-ride he had been as quiet as a mouse and only once we arrived did he decide to speak.

"I'll see you tomorrow, Hayley." Prince Elijah said as Mr. Robert came towards my side and opened the car door.

"See you at work." I replied and hopped off the car and into my driveway.

Once I was outside I see Mr. Robert standing tall next to me, he wore a gloomy and an dark expression. It was an odd and unusual look for him because all the other times I've seen him, he has always held a gentle expression. He has never managed to give away his emotions like the way he is right now. Noticing me observing him, he quickly returns back to his usual self but not realising I've already seen that look of him. However, the moment I decide to ask him about it, he speaks first.
