The Other Room

Slowly pushing the bookcase to the side, it revealed a beaten down wall. There was no door or entrance leading to a hidden room like he had originally thought, instead it hid a wall that did not match with the rest of the hotel.

It was scratched and torn, the colors already faded with time, but that was not the part that Jay Kaiya had focused on. No, the most catching part of this wall was the marks itself. Its normal for old walls and such to have the faded marks of time on them, however the wall here, the marks were shaped as claws.

Putting his fingers on the wall, he traced along the gash, and it confirmed his thoughts. This was claw marks made by humans! However, this wasn't even the most weird part! On the wall was not a single drop of blood!

The only way for marks like these to appear was repetitive hard gashings with your bear hands. Marks like these would not appear if one was wearing gloves as even the nail marks can be seen clearly lodged into the grey wall.

Jay did not know what this wall symbolized. Even if the owner committed heinous crimes, he surely wouldn't have hobbies as sick as this. Just how much pain did one have to go through to lash out at the wall like this?

'Was the person perhaps trapped and trying escape?', catching onto this thought, Jay grabbed a pen on the desk, and began to chip at a wall that was normal with paint.

Tttuuuu- Tttuuuu- Tttuuuu-

The tapping sounded again the grey wall, but Jay was too focused at his work that he did not turn to look back.

Kuuuu- Kuuuu- Kuuuu- Kuuuu-

Little by litte the paint wored off the wall, falling to the ground and showing what layed behind the layer of colors. Gradually a space of grey began to open up, showing the original old wall. Painting can only be layered generally, so anything that was left behind will stay.

However, once he opened up enough space to fit a flat book in, there was nothing special other than the grey color itself. Shaking his head, it looked like he had just wasted his time onto that thought.

Tttuuuu- Tttuuuu- Tttuuuu-

Hearing the tapping again, Jay turned towards the source, and what he saw startled him. Maybe he just did not notice earlier as he was too close to the wall, but he noticed that the marks actually formed a smile, and a face that stared at him like an emoji.

Still, even if he was right in front of it earlier, someone would normally be able to tell that there was a picture. Wait- looking more closely at the grey wall, he recognized that some of the marks had disapeared, almost as if the they had moved to form the smile. There were even some blank spots on the wall now. He wished to brush this off as him not properly remembering, but ever since he experienced the events at his Granny's house, he had already decided to accept every doubt as the truth now.

Kuuiiiiiiii!!----

A loud long high pitched scratch was heard onto the wall to his right, the place where he had just chipped to see the original wall. Turning his head towards the noise, there was now a long claw mark formed at where he had escavated just now.

Quickly glancing back at the smile on the wall to see if anything was about to attack him, he was only met with a blank grey wall. The wall was now normal, without a single trace of what had happened just now. Turning his gaze back at the scratch, he discovered that mark was also now gone.

Cold sweat began to pour from Jay's forehead, although he knew ghosts and monsters were real in this world, this didn't mean that he knew how to deal with them. He decided to just decisively dip, leaving the office behind.

That scene was most likely a hint to him, or a clue, but he had no idea what is represented. It looked like Jay was still lacking the necessary info, he still wasn't prepared enough.

Seeing as nothing scary came out to chase him from the room, he decided to check the owner's bedroom before he left the king suite to search somewhere else in the resort hotel. Entering the bedroom, he noticed nothing special, and everything seemed normal.

But there was definately nothing normal about this suite now, at least after that incident he just experienced. However, after he searched through every nook and corner, there was still not a single hint of evidence that he can use.

So he left the room to go search somewhere else in this building. Perhaps he should try talking to the daughter again, but it was already night time, so she might not even be awake, not to mention outside her room if she does not sleep here.

Tttuuuu- Tttuuuu- Tttuuuu-

Jay Kaiya paused. The tapping noise sounded again... but this time it was from the bedroom. Both times this thing acted up when he had left the room, making him feel more on guard and doubtful towards the thing causing it.

He wished to investigate where the tapping was coming from, yet at the same time he wished to run and leave this behind. Perhaps sadly, or maybe luckily, Jay Kaiya decided to go back into the room to find the source.

This time with the past experience, he waited for the noise to sound off again, and soon enough it came.

Tttuuuu- Tttuuuu- Tttuuuu-

The sound of this room was located from inside of the bed. Sparing no time for doubts and hesitation, Jay Kaiya threw off the blankets, and ripped open the bed sheets. Throwing off the mattress from the bed, nothing showed but the bed foundation.

Seeing no special things appearing this time, Jay decided to rip open the mattress itself. Searching for a object to do the job, he grabbed a lamp to the side, and unfastened the lightbulb. Breaking the lightbulb on the night stand, he held a peice of glass, and sliced it upon the big mattress.

With the long slice, the soft material broke an opening, exhibiting what the materials were made out of. They were piles of densely stuffed hair. Jay did not think much of this at first as fancy mattresses sometimes used animal fur or feathers to fill it up, but when he looked at it more closely, he realized that this was actually human hair!

It was not fake human hair either, but real hair! He can recognize it because he had a lesson with wigs before, describing the differences of fake and real hair used for the craftsmanship, and from the appearence of this, it looked to be a girl's hair as it was long and not short.

Disgusted, he still grabbed a handful and stuffed it into his pocket. This might be the mother's hair, so he decided to keep some for evidence as it was the most he had found so far. Making sure the owner will not find out that he discovered this, he started to dress up the bed like it was before.

Exiting the room, he did not notice that there were some spare strands of hair which littered the floor. But also unknowingly to him, the tapping sounded again even when Jay was not nearby, and the strands began to slither on its own, becoming alive and crawling on its own.

Once Jay Kaiya exited the king suite, he froze from what he had met. The hallway was still the same layout, the night still being dark, and the floor being the same decorated carpet, but everything had changed. The walls became grey, the flowers withered, and doors beaten down from age. However, some more silent changes were evident, an example being that the doors themselves had changed, featuring different numbers and handles, less fanciful and more dull.

This was not a resort hotel, but an apartment complex; somehow Jay stumbled upon another scene.
