The sound of small box falling in through the mail slot of the door, caused Jack's eyes to flicker open. His eyes resting on the sleeping face of Gwen who was curled up close to him, her head on his arm. He was taken back by the drool which was coating the corner of her mouth, it wasn't something he expected to see.
Simpering to himself, Jack would kindly replace his arm with a pillow, not letting her head drop into the water mattress by any means.
Once she was taken care of, he aimed his wrist to the ceiling and spun a thick web, using it to propel himself off the bed and towards the door of the room. He landed, like a hero, with one knee and hand on the ground.
Glancing over his shoulder, he raised a brow slightly, she was sitting up watching him.
Groggily she yawned and made grabby hands towards him. "Hey... Come back here..."
"What...?" Jack blinked, "Were you awake?"
"Yeshhhh..."
Clicking his tongue at this he shook his head, "Then get up and take a shower."
Her arms immediately dropped as she heard him tell her to take a shower. Her mouth was agape, as if the idea of showering anywhere but home horrified her. "Here?"
"...Yes...?" Jack squinted his eyes, before looking to the alarm clock. They had two hours until they had to leave for school. "Unless you want to run across the lawn half naked to your place."
She stared at him, he stared back.
"Then why don't you turn invisible and go get me some clothes so I don't have to?" Her head dropped to the side with a funny smile across her lips, her tired eyes not being very wide.
"...Or you could wear my clothes." Jack gestured to the large shirt she was wearing, then towards his closet. "Maybe... you can keep a sweatshirt?"
She pursed her lips as the proposal of keeping one of his sweatshirts, a hoodie. Most girlfriends typically stole their boyfriends jackets, or even their shirts, and never returned them. MJ had plenty of sweat shirts in her closet from a handful of ex's that she could recall.
"Alright," Gwen surrendered, taking the offer a she rolled off to the side of the bed before slipping onto her feet. She then padded on over to his closet opening the door to peer inside.
There were seven sets of school uniforms, about sixteen hoodies and various other articles of clothing that she could immediately see. Her eyes then shifted down towards the two pairs of sneakers and a pair of combat boots.
Her eyes shifted towards where Jack was once kneeling, but blinked seeing he was gone. "He's fast... And quiet," She murmured to herself before reaching into the closet and pushing each hoodie aside until she came across one from New Jersey Wildwood.
Removing the hoodie from the hanger it was on, she looked it over.
The hoodie was tie dyed with bright colors and a white base. It was soft to the touch, as if it metaphorically melted in her hands.
A beaming smile formed over her lips before she pulled the hoodie over her head. It was long enough to completely cover her thighs and the sleeves were a little too much in length. "The perfect dress," she wadded to the open bedroom door and peered out into the narrow hall.
She hardly heard anything.
Jack was going down the stairs, and when he finally reached the bottom, walked over to the front door. It was a small black cardboard box that had fallen through that mail flap.
Squatting down, he listened as the mailman had gotten into his car and drove off towards the next block on his route. Then Jack looked back down to the box in his hand as he shook it lightly.
He knew what was in the box, a phone. As he opened the box it revealed an outdated iPhone 4S. A small snigger escaped his lips slightly, "Outdated phones every time, how nice of you."
That's when he paused, hearing a strange tapping through the mailslot of the door. Someone was making small progress up the walkway to the front door.
"...I'm not expecting anyone..." He uttered quietly, as he could confirm two people now were outside the front door. One of them were chattering about. Based on the way they moved, the sounds of their clothes, he had been able to tell they were wearing suits.
"I'm not hearing anything from inside..." Matt Murdock, in a business suit, was standing outside the front door with his partner and fellow lawyer Franklin Percy Nelson, also known as Froggy.
Matt was a man with black hair and an athletic-lean build. His face was ovular with a five o'clock shadow and dark brown eyes which were covered by a red tinted glasses.
"Then he's probably not home man, we should really get going..."
"Oh, he's home," Murdock simpered as his white tapping stick poked the mailslot, which almost immediately gave him a 'glimpse' into the home. He could hear Jack's breathing, despite how shallow it was. However that only gave him an approximate location. The place was sound proofed, so the sounds were bouncing all around, no matter how faint.
Jack's eye twitched slightly as he stood up silently and glanced over his shoulder as Gwen came padding down the stairs. Humming to herself happily, dancing with each step she made.
"Someone at the door?" She asked as she narrowed her sights on a white stick poking in through the mailslot.
"...Yes..." Jack rolled his jaw slightly, not really wanting to have someone coming into the house at the moment. He was alone with Gwen, she was hardly dressed and he, he was still wearing yesterday's clothes. Not that that really mattered to him.
Reaching out, he would place his hand on the door knob and twist it open, pulling the door towards himself. "Hm...?" Jack's eyes darted from Froggy to the blindman, then back to Froggy.
Tucking the stick under his arm, Murdock stepped forward, removing a glove from his hand before holding it out for a shake. "Good morning, my name is Matt Murdock this is my associate Froggy. We're from..."
"Nelson and Murdock Law," Gwen lowered the hood of the hoodie she was wearing and stepped up beside Jack. Her eyes shifted over the two for a moment, before raising her brow. "Why are two lawyers here?"
"...Don't know," Ultimately ignoring Murdock's gesture, Jack turned to look at her for a few seconds before walking away from the door, and heading towards the kitchen to start making breakfast.
Murdock slowly went to lower his hand until Gwen took it and shook his hand slightly.
"Please... Come in," Gwen let go of his hand and motioned for them to come inside. She watched them as the two would immediately step inside the house and make their way into the living room. "Have a seat," she said as she'd close the door and lock it before walking in after them.
Gwen then sat down on the couch across from the one they decided to sit in. "So what brings you to Jack's house?"
"What brings Captain Stacy's daughter over Jack's house?" Murdock asked as he leaned forward on the couch. A faint smile across his lips as he appeared to look at her through his red shades. Though he was blind, so that was clearly a false observation.
"Uh..."
"...She jumped out her window last night, as Fisk's men tried to kidnap her." Jack spoke awkwardly as the sudden words from him made just about everyone's jump, even the Daredevil himself, as he was standing in front of the television between both couches.
"When did you get there!?" Froggy had a hand over his chest, looking at the young man.
Scratching his chin, Murdock looked to Jack, "And you know these men were his, specifically?"
Jack was just blinking at Froggy for an instant before bringing his attention to Matt. "Cute..."
"Hm?" Murdock leaned back into the couch as he kept facing Jack.
"...Why are you here? Answer before the egg yoke dries..." Jack's voice sounded threatening and while the feeling wasn't focused on Gwen, she could feel the danger emanating from him as her hairs stood up on end.
Letting out a sigh, the blind man seemed to smile. "This is you isn't it?" The man reached into his jacket pocket and took out the Fixer's phone. An item Jack recognizes, causing him to fold his arms in front of his chest.
As he looked at the screen, he saw the picture which had been sent to him by Fisk. "...Hm, I've been made..." Jack was now thinking that he might be given a reason to kill Fisk after all. Someone had somehow got a hold of this man's phone.
Turning on the apple product, Jack glanced down at the screen as it vibrated twice. When the screen finally showed, revealing three texts. He pressed the message button to look over his new mail from this used phone.
His thoughts had been answered. A camera had caught Daredevil taking the phone off of the now very dead Fixer that worked for Fisk. HIs eyes then shifted to the blindman. "...You're the Daredevil...?"
Gwen's face went deadpan, almost as if she was trying not to laugh, at the idea of a blind man being a crime fighting vigilante. Let alone someone as well coordinated as the Daredevil.
Murdock and Nelson also seemed quiet the moment he had spoken.
"You didn't see the camera.. did you...?" Jack's head cocked to the side with this one way gaze, which was almost mocking, but Murdock couldn't see it at all.
Nelson frowned at the teenager, "Who do you work for?"
"Eggs..." Jack walked away from the group in the living room, making his way over to the kitchen and moving the eggs onto a plate. He also started some toast and started sizzling sausage on a skillet. The smell was taking up the entire first floor of the house.
"Ms Gwen, I'd like to ask you what your relationshi--"
"He's my boyfriend," Gwen answered plainly as she stood from the couch, straightening out the hoodie along her legs, before strutting away and into the kitchen as she smelled the food.
Both Nelson and Murdock looked to one another.
"Is it just me, or does this Jack's house seem to be strangely soundproof inside as well?"
Nelson glanced around the house, he didn't even hear a water heater or the sound of moving air through the vents. Each room seemed to be its own compartment, like a submarine almost.
"I am curious," Nelson stood from the couch, Murdock following, as he made his way to the kitchen as he put his hands in his pockets. "What do your parents do for a living?"
"...Scientists," Jack spoke sharply the moment he had asked this, "They work for Omnitech International." He threw one of AIM's fronts right in their faces, but legally it was a legit establishment in California. Though it was the front that his parents worked from.
"So you're someone's rich kid and... Fisk wants you out of the picture? Both of you?"
Gwen was noting his responsiveness and the awkwardness changing during this conversation. His words were short, quick and snappy. He didn't stutter and he seemed to be staring into space.
Murdock couldn't tell if Jack was going to lie or not, or if he had already lied. His heart was beating steady, no real abnormalities in his breathing either.
"Her dad's investigating Fisk, and mine probably told him he's useless, considering he sent the Fixer." His eyes narrowed on the phone, "He has a glass jaw by the way."
This last statement made Murdock tug a smile across his lips, "Really? Wouldn't have known."
