Safe & Sound

Shock and frustration coursed through Rhea all at once. But most of all, shame. This was completely her fault. If she had taken this matter more seriously, then none of this would have happened in the first place. If she made sure to clean the broken pot before he arrived, then he wouldn't have stepped outside and gotten hurt.

Damien lay in her arms, still and slightly comprehensive. The broken pot lay shattered at the ground around them. The broken pieces pierced into Rhea's feet but she could care less about her own pain. Damien looked to be in so much pain, with blood trailing furiously down his head to his chin.

"Don't cry Rhea. I feel sad when you are sad."

But she couldn't stop the helpless tears from streaming down her face.

"I feel fine. It's just a little scratch...See? Ow."

Even now, the little guy was trying to reassure her. It made her feel even more guilty that she allowed someone to hurt such a kind soul.

Damien tried to get up but fell back again as she watched him fight the swirls in his eyes. That was it. She needed to get him to the hospital. Rhea mustered all her strength to pick him up. And although she didn't want to, her wants and needs didn't matter right now. What mattered was that Damien got to the hospital safely. Rhea rushed out her condo with Damien in her arms.

She went to the one place where she knew help would come. Rhea feverishly knocked on the wretched angel's door. Tears kept coming down as she hiccuped and hugged Damien close to her chest.

"...Coming. Who is...it?" Aziel opened the door and immediately paused, surprised to see Rhea but most of all watching in horror as blood seeped from Damien's head.

"Christ. What the hell happened?"

Rhea sobbed and hiccuped. "Damien needs to go to the hospital....The pot...He was outside on the balcony...and then it fell...Ugh, is all my fault ugh."

Aziel turned her face to his with both hands wiping away at the pathetic tears. "Calm down. Listen to me, everything will be alright. For now, give Damien to me. I'll take him to the hospital. You stay here and wait for Zeven to get back, okay?"

"O-Okay..."

She watched the concern laced in his eyes. For a moment, she was reminded of Aziel's sensual eyes as he looked up at her in that dimly lit dark dungeon room. Of course, she dispelled all thoughts and shame because Damien was more important. Not the embarrassment or lewd flashbacks!

And then with much urgency, she gave Damien over to Aziel. He grabbed his keys by the door and immediately rushed down the stairs. All Rhea could do was watch as Aziel carried away Damien's lifeless body like a hero arriving at the scene.

When they disappeared from sight, Rhea buried her face in her hands.

Time was so slow. Rhea watched the clock hands ticked ever so slowly, causing her tremors to shake uncontrollably. When she heard the sound of the door clicking open, Rhea jumped up and quickly rushed over to the doorway.

"...How's Damien...Oof!" but to her complete dismay, who stood there was Zeven.

Her head bumped into his chest because she was running so fast. Zeven stood there in the doorway, his features soft and kind. He looked down at her almost reassuringly. Then, reached out to Rhea and she flinched but she didn't take a step back. The wretched angel casually stroked her head.

Rhea's head leaned into his chest even further. This was what she needed. Someone to lean on. For a moment, it was like her body wasn't listening to her thoughts. Her mind was going chaotic, at how she could hear his heart beating through his chest.

"Aziel informed me about what happened. Damien will be fine. They're checking his blood pressure and patching him up so he can come back to you safe and sound."

Rhea all but slumped onto the ground in relief. "...Thank god."

"Do you want to tell me all about what happened?"

She gulped and thought about it. It wasn't like she was covering for the enemy but it felt almost strange that she hadn't come to the twins in the first place to complain about the threatening note. But that was all due to the fact that she almost submitted in becoming their sex slave.

Oh the horrors of that night...Rhea practically relived them every night. And strangely enough, the twins have been quiet on their end. No sex noises or updates from their lewd site. Even now, Rhea found it hard to face Zeven. When she was confronted by him, all she could think about was the way that tongue swirled over her nipple.

Rhea shook her head, took a large step back like he had the plague, and then finally cleared her throat.

"I-It's all my fault...You see...The thing is, I received a threatening letter..."

Before she could continue her story, the door swung open yet again. And this time it was both Aziel and Damien. But little Damien was sound asleep in his arms. His head was wrapped in a bandage. The little guy seemed to be breathing fine, compared to earlier's ordeal.

In Aziel's arms huddled against his chest, Damien truly looked safe and sound. Rhea felt safe and---Scratch that last part.

"Damien...!" Rhea shouted, rushing over to Aziel's side to look at his serene features.

He put a finger to Rhea's mouth, causing her to blush even though the twins had already done so much more. "Shh, don't wake him."

"Is everything fine?"

"Everything is fine. The doctor bandaged him up and prescribed some pain killers."

"...I'm so glad...Thank you Aziel..."

Aziel cheekily smiled to lift up the mood. "Of course, anything for our favorite author. And besides, I've grown fond of the little guy so I'd lend a hand in a heartbeat."

Rhea almost forgot about the threatening letter until Zeven gravely looked at Aziel.

"Aziel, I think we have a problem."
