It was when Sarah left the office that a burst of adrenaline went through her veins as if she had only just realized what her boss had asked her to get.
She was beyond excited with his request but she didn't know how best to show it. She wanted to scream and shout but she was well aware that she was still at work so she had to put a rein on her emotions.
As an orphan and the only child of her parents, Sarah had had to fend for herself after her parents death.
She had been doing really well with it more so now that she was a banker. Yes, she didn't have it all like Maja believed but her life was not so bad. She had what she needed and that was what mattered to her.
Sarah was smart and hardworking and knew just how to relate with people and because of that in addition to the scholarship she was also opportune to have many helpers, although some maintained being anonymous.
Up until now she didn't know most of the people who helped her. However she concluded that it must have been the people she met at some time in her life and she was nice to them as always.
When Sarah was in school she conducted tutorials for her classmates and those below her class and sometimes abover her class. With all this she was able to fend for herself in college and also save enough to rent a good apartment in the second choicest place in new Zealand after school.
Maybe she did have it all.
Getting a promotion meant that her living standards will increase from good to better and she was elated.
She could finally open that bank she always wanted to and that orphanage. She just had to stay good and save for a few years and she would be the powerful woman she always wanted to be, now the thoughts of marriage had escaped her mind.
She concluded that she was not going to get married until she has achieved all her dreams or at most she was going to get Married to a man who will help her achieve them.
"Thanks so much for speaking up for us." Elizabeth had said. Immediately she saw Sarah come down from the elevator she rushed to meet her. Elizabeth was really really grateful for what Sarah had done and Sarah could see it on her face in fact anyone with eyes could.
"You are all smiles." Angela added with a wide grin of her own. She had rushed to meet Sarah too.
"I have you guys to thank I might be getting a promotion soon." Sarah revealed excitedly.
"That's nice. You spoke well." Angela smiled sweetly, but Sarah could tell that the smile was far from genuine but she waved it off. After all Angela was nothing to her. She already had one Jealous friend to deal with so she didn't need another.
"I'm so happy for you. You are so beautiful and smart tell me all about it." Elizabeth squealed as they all walked back to they duty post.
"I have work to do Sarah. Catch you later." Angela said walking away.
"Its all good Angi. Later." Sarah smiled and turned to Elizabeth. "Oh Lizzy nothing much really happened." She grinned.
"Well tell me the nothing." Elizabeth clasped her hand together as her face lit up.
