Unsatiable Hunger

Time passes by, in the blink of an eye, a full day has passed in which Shen Huo has spend on secluded cultivation.

He ended up feeling mentally drained from cultivating too long. Shen Huo has already reached the third level of the spirit scholar realm, on his second day, when he arrived at this world.

▪Congratulations, you have broken through to the next spirit rank. You are now spirit rank 3.▪

'It would only become a lot more harder from here.' Shen Huo thought.

'As your increase your spirit power in rank, so does it take the time longer to train between each breakthrough.' He quickly deduced, obvious from the knowledge that he read from Xianxia cultivation novels.

Shen Huo woke up with an unbeatable sense of hunger unraveling inside of him, his abdominal region starts to burned up, as his stomach loudly rumbles.

One word is used to describe this unbearable sense that he is currently feeling, it's 'hunger'.

Shen Huo then placed his hand over his stomach, he could feel the rumbling sensation and vibrations passes through his hand.

"I'm hungry. I'm so fucking hungry that I'm now dying from hunger pains." Shen Huo loudly exclaimed, as he doesn't seem to remember the last time he ever had food.

'It seems that I didn't eat anything since I've first arrived in this world.' Shen Huo thought as he lamented over the unbearable hunger pains.

'So this is what it's like to go by days without food. It was a pleasantly nice life living back on Earth; a stable job, good income, and a place to live, with food to fill your belly.' Shen Huo thought, being reminded of his past life on Earth.

Food starts to crossed his mind, as his tongue starts to salivate, and his hunger intensifying.

"I need to stop thinking about food, it's only making myself more hungrier." Shen Huo said to himself, "I need to start looking for food, or else, I will sooner or later will die from hunger."

Shen Huo got up from his spot in the dark corners of the room, as he then slowly made his way towards the exit, and left the abandoned house on his own volition.

He enters the very same empty alley ways that he was first transported to.

The putrid smell of the alley ways wasn't exactly very nice, it stinks of urine and garbage, but he got used to it already.

Shen Huo then enters the main shopping street, where there is alot of people walking by; whether alone, or going with a partner or lover, or even in a group.

The people are going on with their lives, doing their daily business, without a care in the world.

'And now, how exactly am I goanna find food? Should I begged for any lousy change from onlookers or try to pickpocket money.' Shen Huo thought seriously, haven't ever come across this sort of problem before in his previous life.

Shen Huo walked down the very busy shopping district. There are some people who are avoiding him because he is dirt poor and dirty.

Their cold demeanor and viscous gaze when looking in his direction. It's almost like seeing a dirty rodent in your house that you wanted to get rid off, but you don't want to touch it because it may carry weird diseases and cause illnesses.

It sends chills running down his spine, as he hugs his arms around himself tightly, and shivering uncontrollably.

'What is wrong with some people. It's like they don't even see me as a human or equal.' Shen Huo thought to himself.

'Yeah, right... an equal. How laughable it is to compare a working class individual to a homeless person," Shen Huo laughed hysterically to himself. It immediately caught some uneasy gaze from many onlookers.

'Despite being so close, and very similar, sharing the same properties, almost on the same wavelength. In the end, they are still like oil and water, they will not mixed well.' Shen Huo then came to a reasonable understanding over the matter.

Currently, walking through the busy shopping district streets, he could see the many lines of food stalls.

The freshly scent of the smell of baked goods then enters Shen Huo's nostrils. It causes his tongue to salivate even more, producing a mouthful of saliva.

'I'm hungry.' Shen Huo thought, whilst gazing at the freshly hot steamed buns in the bamboo basket, by the stall till.

However, a kid of similar age to Shen Huo, dressed in similar tattered clothing, walked up to the food stall that sells the steamed buns.

He sneakily reaches both of his hands out, and within seconds, stole two steamed buns from the bamboo basket. He then runs off, in another direction, whilst carrying one steam bun in each hand.

"While you little thief! Stop! Stop! Ifor I ever managed to catch you, I will kill you." The stall clerk then chases after the thief, but gaved up half way within the crowds, having lost the small kid.

'Now's my chance.' Shen Huo thought to himself, whilst grinning, he hurriedly runs up to the food stall.

Like a greedy goblin, he snatches a whole entire bamboo basket to himself. It contains roughly around seven to eight newly steamed steamed buns.

However, the stall clerk caught wind of it first hand. He spotted Shen Huo at a distance, holding his bamboo straw basket.

"Hey, you! You fucking bastards! Stay away from my steamed buns! They are not for you, but for my paying customers." The stall clerk loudly shouted in his frustration, raising both of his fist like an angry gorilla.

He then charges angrily at Shen Huo, like a madly enraged bull. With him being the madly crazed bull, and Shen Huo the red flag target.

"Uh Oh." Shen Huo exclaimed, having gotten himself caught red handed.

He started running away, fastly surfing his way through the crowd, whilst carrying a heavy basket full of steamed buns within his hands.

Unlike the big figure of the stall clerk, round and rotund, Shen Huo is small and tiny. With his nimble feets, he is tiny able to make his way through the tiniest of gaps, between a person andoes another.

Therefore, it made it much easier for Shen Huo to escaped from the capture of the enraged stall clerk.
