Aleria

An arrow covered in blinding light travels fast as it aims into Emmanuel's head.

Emmanuel closes his eyes.

Eversince being drafted to this war two days ago, he had lost hope more time than others will experience in their lifetime, but in the end he still managed to survive.

This time he was hoping for yet another miracle.

'Please whoever up there, I don't want to die'

His breathing is heavy, his heartbeat is fast and he was drenched in sweat.

He kept on waiting but the arrow never came.

He opened his eyes to find Aleria standing in front of him.

Using her dagger, she cuts through the trailhead of the arrow that's pinning him to the wall.

Aleria is as quiet as ever, never speaking any word and with a calm look on her face, she yanks Emmanuel's body.

Dozens of arrows passed through his inside, making him experience pain like no other.

"Thank yo- Aaahhhh!, motherf*cker" He couldn't help himself from cursing.

Maybe annoyed by his whining, Aleria knocks him out with a swift blow to the head, she then proceeds to bring him back to the wall.

Seeing this, the remaining Ombakti try to stop her but as it steps forward, its head slides through the back of its neck.

"Where have you been?" Arthur asked but the latter didn't reply.

She lays down Emmanuel and once again vanishes.

[You know I can put you down in line of insubordination right?] Arthur said, trying to convince the latter to come back but there is no response.

Shaking his head, Arthur gave up and proceeded in commanding the remaining troops.

"Come on and listen up! The day is still long, if ever we want to came out of this alive, we have to hold this line"

"Sir! yes sir!"

"Those that are low level move to the back and keep on throwing grenades. If you run out, yank it to the corpse next to you. If any of you hesitate you'll be joining them soon."

"Sir! yes sir!"

"And those that can hold a gun, grab one, it doesn't matter if you have to get it from Hades himself, quickly form a firing squad. We will be holding this line"

"Sir! yes sir!"

"Good, let's bring this bastards hell"

"Pa!Pa!Pa!Pa!Pa!"

"Boom!"

"Boom!"

"Boom!"

…..

As the horn of the battlefield rang, Aleria immediately rushed over the wall.

Ignoring Arthur and Emmanuel's plea, she vanished through the crowd.

Aleria had one goal, to eliminate the orc archer.

She had witnessed firsthand the terror it might cause. It's like a lion that watches his prey's every movement, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike.

Even with her skill [Lack of presence] this enemy still manages to spot her. She knows that if she let this enemy be, there's no telling how strong it could become and how many more would die in its hand.

She was lucky before that she didn't catch its interest but there's no telling how long she could avoid its attention.

Within the crowd, she watched as the mammoths ram through every obstacle, moving closer and closer to the wall but still she didn't act.

She kept her cool, surveying the area, looking for a sight of the orc archer.

"Swosh!"

Not long after, an arrow with absolute precision intercepts another arrow coming for the mammoth's life, saving it.

Aleria knows that there is a high possibility that this is the orc she was looking for.

Gazing in the distance, she found a tower distinct from anyone else.

She didn't waste anymore time.

[Stealth]

Using her high agility she ran off the wall, avoiding the rain of fire and explosion.

She didn't kill any orc so as to not get attention and little by little she closed her distance.

But as she was halfway through, she heard Emmanuel's call for help.

With reluctance, she looked at the archer tower one more time before ultimately turning away.

She was like a greamripper, passing through the sea of orcs, living only afterimage and dead Ombaktis behind.

The large noise of the battlefield coupled with her lack of presence make it so that the orcs never saw what's coming.

After carefully avoiding the Gobakjis, Aleria arrives to see Emmanuel's body pin to the wall.

Experiencing the same feeling she felt yesterday, she immediately rushed in front of Emmanuel.

Not even seeing what it is, Aleria run forward

With power she generated in her movement, she flashes her knife. A sharp pressure of wind covers the edge of her weapon as it collides with the arrow shining in blinding light.

The knife cuts through the arrow but as it was halfway through it broke.

"Cling" Aleria's hand drips in blood as she lets go of her broken knife.

Not minding the pain, she approaches Emmanuel.

Sawback Bowie knife

Durability 50/50

A fighting knife design made famous by the duel known as Sandbar fight.

Evaluation: This knife is produced by an apprentice blacksmith with a mediocre talent using a mana steel with poor density.

After freeing him, she brought him to Arthur and immediately resumed her assassination of the orc archer.

She had felt that it was a lot stronger than yesterday and finds the need to kill it more and more before it becomes so powerful to stop.

…..

Aleria onces again rushes down the wall.

"Swosh!"

An arrow flew through her direction, using the orc infront of her as a shield, she blocked it.

The arrow passed through the orc body like batter, lucky for her it didn't hit her.

After saving Emmanuel, Aleria captured the undivided attention of the orc archer.

Even after using stealth, she wasn't able to lose its tail.

Aleria is unlike Emmanuel, once she was hit by that orc arrow, it was over for her.

She also didn't have Arthur's battle instinct, what she has is her lack of presence, her strength mainly lies in assasination once it was taken from her, her strength diminishes by 50%.

Aleria looked at the distance, she knew that although the orc archer is aware of her presence, once she closes the distance there's still a chance for her to kill it.

Weighing her options, she decided to push through.

Now the game of cat and mouse will begin.
