Erin had arrived before an amazing scenery. A massive statue of a man holding his sword to the sky laid before his eyes. The statue had a heroic gait to it, seeming almost ethereal and invincible in nature.
The statue's size was around that of a small building. It was made of some unknown black material that gave it an otherworldly shine, only enhancing the image of the Hero.
Beyond the statue laid a long winded path that stretch forward into a small green pastures and beyond that was the opening to a forest. Its dense trees gave Erin close to zero visibility of what may have laid within.
When he turned around however, he noticed that there was a wide street, bustling with much activity. There were many NPC's walking about and Players who were haggling prices.
Some shops had an interesting variety of items laid in display. Magic potions, swords and even tailored clothing seemed to blend in quite well.
Erin had read about this place. This was where every player in the world started their journey in the Critical world, The Island of beginnings.
Yes, an island.
The island was perhaps around 140 Kilometers in length and a majority of it was taken up by the massive city that was nestled within. The rest of the island was filled with lush forests or even wide pastures.
Erin turned forwards once more to regard the statue. He had read on the forums that there was a small plaque beneath the statue that told of the history of this island.
Sure enough, as he looked for it, he found it.
[This is the island of beginnings. The birthplace of humanity. Long ago, the first human tribes started from this land and expanded onwards into the mainland where the greater beasts lay. The founder of the central human Empire, Sol Honduras united the 73 clans of humanity and built a nation that to this day holds roots from the Island.]
"Wow. This is Honduras, huh? The first king of Humanity." Erin muttered out, his eyes taking in the statue's presence. This carving was truly made by a master craftsman.
See, humanity, had five kingdoms altogether. The Northern Kingdom, the Frost Empire, the Southern Kingdom, Corolian Empire, the Western Kingdom, Hailmerry Dominion and the Eastern Empire, the White Lion federation.
The last of the five kingdoms was the strongest as well as arguably the most prosperous kingdom of all. The Central Kingdom, Honduria!
Erin had read in the forums that the first king of Humanity, Sol Honduras, journeyed out from his tiny clan to experience the world and on his journey he encountered many things.
Beasts, monsters and even people of other races. Honduras saw that the other races had a prosperous economy and strong kingdoms.
He was inspired by their might and sought out the 73 human clans. Some big and others, tiny, but nonetheless he united each and every one of them and created a lasting kingdom known as Honduria which has survived for over 700 years!
The nobles of Honduria decided to expand the influence of humanity, moving out to conquer nearby lands which in turn secured the legendary Human Empire, creating the five kingdoms of humanity, each with their own rich history and wonderful background.
As for the Island of beginnings?
This was the birthplace of Honduras! The birthplace of humanity!
Erin's eyes flashed with various thoughts as he glanced at the majestic statue. He sighed in slight admiration.
Although this world was a game, Erin was sure that if he was put in Honduras's shoes, he wouldn't have been able to accomplish even 1/10th of what the first king did.
Erin turned behind him and glanced at the massive city before him. Without hesitation, he walked in, ready to search for opportunities to grow stronger.
However, he knew that he wasn't ready. His skills in combat were sub par compared to the veteran players who had been playing the game ever since it came out. They had all encountered numerous life and death situations which had evolved their skills and made them predators instead of prey.
Erin had to become like that, a predator.
But first thing was first.
Verifying the strength of his abilities. There was only one way which was both cheap and easy to do so. The training hall!
