When she had stayed up all night looking at the sky outside the clear big stainless glass, somehow she had retreated to the bedroom next to the office and slept without caring to take a shower. So now waking up, she felt as though she was sticky all over. Aside from the fact that it was currently summer, she also hated turning on the air conditioner or the fan.
In her bedroom, she had the best and latest air conditioners made but she never used it. Rather, she would throw off her black fuzzy faux fur blanket that covered the bed and wake up to grab it again when she was woken by the cold. Her body was weird.
At least she thought it was that way. When it was the slightest bit hot, she would as though she was living in an oven and when it was the slightest bit cold, she felt as though she was living at the arctic. During normal days, her hands and feet would get so cold it was as though she had stuffed them into the freezer for hours.
However, now sleeping on a new bed that she does not usually sleep on, she was also feeling unadapted to it. Though the bed was soft with her favorite color and materials, she still felt that this was not the bed she was comfortable with.
Looking at the black wooden bedside table with a white modern lamp to her left, she reached for her phone to check what time it was. She remembered having gone to sleep at around three or maybe four in the morning so she was for sure that she would be waking up late and might hear Qin Xifeng calling her to give a lecture, but it was not late into daytime.
Instead, she had wakened up at eight in the morning which meant she only got four or five hours of sleep. She knew that today, she would not be able to function correctly or most likely even make a mistake somewhere along the lines. However, she did not want to delay the final piece of the set, so she got up to freshen up.
Despite the pounding head and dizziness from not enough sleep and not enough food from the previous day, she stepped out the full-on black bed and onto the black soft carpeted floor. To the right of the bed, was the door to the bathroom and if she was correct, there should already be the necessities for her to wash up. Since she did not wash up the previous day, she was feeling icky, so she decided to also take a shower despite not being a person who usually took showers in the morning.
She also hoped that the shower might clear up her head and make her feel more awake. She did not want to live today like a walking zombie that could not think about anything else other than brains.
When she entered the bathroom, she immediately noticed the structure of it. Though she designed everything, she was still amazed by the things that she could accomplish. She had never gone into the bathroom installed next to the bedroom because she had never used the bedroom.
She could not be blamed for not knowing that the walls were tiled white and the floor was black marbled tiles. That the sink counter was also going to be marbled black and white or that the shower glass panes would be clear and black rather than the crystallized ones with a bluish hue.
Finished looking around, she undressed and stepped into the shower. Turning on the water to just the right warmth that she liked, she started showering and thinking at the same time. She was thinking about the bad omen that she was feeling.
She had felt this feeling the day previous, but in this current moment, she could feel it even stronger. As though at any moment she would be struck by something unprecedented. She was not at ease and could only imagine the horrible things that could take her down but even then, she did her best to calm down.
For one thing, she knew best that her gut instincts were always right so instead of panicking, it was better that she started trying to find a way to resolve this bad feeling.
When she had finished showering, she stepped out of the shower and grabbed the black silk robes that were hanging from the knob installed on the door.
When she looked in the closet with a few of her clothes, she found that little was there due to the fact that she barely lived nor slept in the office bedroom. However, there was still a beige flared pantsuit with its beige double-breasted blazer and a white blouse with a ribbon knot. She also found a pair of beige platformed high pumps after finding her a matching set of underwear.
Her closet was usually full of black and white clothing, and other colors of clothing were mostly given to her by sponsors or as gifts. However, those pieces of clothing usually ended up being gifted to her assistant or left in a place she's used only once before.
Giving a sigh once she was done getting dressed and readying her hair, she also covered her dark circles under her pure black eyes with concealer. She did not want to give Qin Xifeng a scare when they finally saw each other after two days.
When she looked in the mirror and found that she was looking healthy and fine now, she finally left her office to go find some restaurant to eat at. She was starving and did not want to work on an empty stomach. She did not want to go through such torture as it might not be productive at all in the end.
When she left the company building, she was met with multiple of her workers as they greeted her and many people had a look of surprise across their faces. There was something very special about her. She was the hardest person to meet, ever.
It was not that they could not see her but rather, they could not talk to her at all even if they wanted to. It was a widespread rumor that she was a devil and if your work was not subpar to what she wanted, you would get laid off. There was also another rumor that if you spoke to her, you would lose half of your life.
They all believed it to be true because just look at her now. Though she dressed nicely and not darkly for the first time in a long time, she still looked very intimidating. She may be small and short, but she was the coldest and iciest person that they have ever met.
There was only one person that could talk comfortably with her and it was Qin Xifeng. The secretaries had long been fired by her for the amount of gossip they did every day, so she had fired them. Aside from that, it had been announced that Qin Xifeng was also receiving the pay as assistant and a secretary.
They were jealous, but they were not strong enough to handle her aura. Even as she walked by in her normal pace to her red Acura NSX, they were still scared of her.

"Father, agh," Cao Yang screamed in pain.
He was currently being whipped by his father. He did not know who found out about the drugs he was selling behind the scenes and reported it to his father, but he really wanted to kill them.
"Father! Am I not your son!? How can you whip me," Cao Yang asked while whaling in pain from the whip wounds inflicted by his father.
"Shut up! I do not have such a son! Someone who sells drugs in the black market! You greedy bastard! You would actually do something so illegal," his father yelled at him in anger.
"Father! I'm wrong! Please stop whipping me now! I'm already bleeding," Cao Yang begged while still in increasing pain.
Giving a scoff, his father said, "You know that you are wrong? Why did you not think about it when you first started? Cao Yang, how much have I given you? Do you not care about the fact that you have everything? Do you know how hard it was for me to make sure your ordeal did not blow up!?"
"Father, I know now… Please stop hitting me," Cao Yang begged whilst crying tears.
Glaring at his idiot of a son, he asked, "Do you really know now? Why do I feel that you don't?"
"I know. I really know now. Father, I won't do it again," Cao Yang continued begging.
"Damn right you won't! Just because I've protected throughout these years does not mean I can continue protecting you," the father said, trying to educate his son who has been found committing an offense.
His father was most worried about one thing. He was worried that when he died, Cao Yang would not be able to survive. Since middle school to now, Cao Yang had been committed to doing the wrong things. Even then, he would show patience and help his son cover-up.
He was getting old and near the dying age. He did not know how much time he had left, but Cao Yang was the only child he had. He did not want to lose such a precious child nor have him die prematurely.
Finally giving up on beating Cao Yang, he asked, "Do you have any idea who could have reported you?"
"I do," Cao Yang answered. "It might be Qiao Jinghua."
"Hm? Are you sure," he asked to affirm his son's answer.
"I'm more than sure," he replied. "That old general found me at her place, so it must be her."
He also found that there was nothing wrong with his son's answer. It was a well-known fact that no one entered her home as nobody knew where her home was.
"Son… Do you want revenge," he asked his son.
Without even having to think about it, he answered, "Of course!"
