She was still sitting in her office chair and staring out the gigantic window behind her huge pure black desk. She was currently waiting for Qin Xifeng.
After a few more minutes of waiting, Qin Xifeng finally knocked on the black wooden double doors.
"Come in," she said.
Taking steps in, Qin Xifeng said, "Boss, I have picked out the apartments that are most closest to what you might like. If you do not like the ones I have chosen, I can create a new one."
Not saying much in response, she looked at the pictures with their information that was given by Qin Xifeng. She knew for sure that Qin Xifeng had probably gone through at least a hundred different apartments just for her in order to get these five that were in front of her right now.
Though she was choosey when she was the one picking and sorting through the places to live in, if it was another who did it for her, she did not fuss much. After all, those people probably spent a long time in order to get the results they did.
Picking the one that was closest to what she wanted, she told Qin Xifeng to buy that one. It was an apartment that was in a not too rich or too poor area but had good security. The apartment was not too big either.
"Okay, I will get the paperwork done by the end of today. For the furniture, will you design it again," Qin Xifeng asked.
"No," she answered. "Xifeng, please choose the furniture and everything else for me. I will go shopping for new clothes and shoes, you don't have to accompany me on that day."
"Okay," Qin Xifeng replied respectfully.
In Qin Xifeng's thoughts were, "I'm getting a break! A break!" She really wanted to dance in joy, but she did not want to do it in front of her boss or she would look stupid.
"Xifeng, the designs for the new season are done. Start preparing the materials and elect a team to start designing the final piece," she ordered Qin Xifeng.
"I understand," Qin Xifeng answered. "Would the Design Team A be good enough for this final piece?"
"The embroidering on the set will be hard for them to do. Tell them to just make everything and leave the embroidering to me," she said.
"Okay," Qin Xifeng accepted. "Is there anything else?"
"No," she answered. "You can go now."
"Understood," Qin Xifeng acknowledged and left the office taking quiet steps.
When the office had fallen into complete silence, she took out her phone and called her brother. She had expected him not to answer, but out of her expectations, he answered on the first ring.
"What is it Xiao Hua," Qiao Guangli asked.
"Ge, I sold the penthouse and moved to a new place," she told him.
"Why," Qiao Guangli asked. "The penthouse took you a long time to find. Where are you moving to?"
"I'm moving in with a friend," she answered.
"That's not a good idea," Qiao Guangli rejected sternly. "How will you live comfortably? Living with others means that you have to yield to them."
"Don't worry, Ge," she said to him in order not to worry him.
"Fine," Qiao Guangli sighed, showing that he gave up trying to persuade her from the decision she was making.
Though he only gave a simple and super small try at trying to stop her, he was really persuasive in her trying to give him her new address.
"Ge, sorry but I can't give you my new address," she admitted.
"Why," he asked, wrinkling his brows trying to show his frustration.
"This friend of mine absolutely abhors having visitors," she gave an excuse.
"That's not true. Tell me Xiao Hua… Is that friend a male or female," he asked. "I'm only asking because if it is a man I-"
Qiao Guangli could not finish his sentence before she answered, "It's a female friend."
"How can that be," he muttered. "Xiao Hua, how can your friend that agree to you having visitors? If her family can come then what about yours?"
"Brother, she is an orphan," she said.
"Oh… Sorry," he apologized, sounding sincere but in fact not sincere in the least.
Giving a chuckle, she said, "It's fine. My friend is more yielding to me. The only rule she's really strict about is having visitors."
As though giving up on the thought of coming to her house, Qiao Guangli instead asked her, "Xiao Hua, how about visiting me at the mansion?"
"Why," she asked. "Ge, you know I don't want to."
"Just come for my birthday," Qiao Guang pleaded. "Xiao Hua, it's my birthday soon. Can you come? Even just for a bit?"
Heaving a sigh, she agreed, "Fine, but I will only stay for a while."
"That's more than enough," he said.
With that, their conversation on the phone finally ended and she started thinking of what to wear to his birthday. She was for sure that his birthday would be populated since he was close to Cao Yang and many other famous entertainment people. It was his first birthday party too, so she did not want to embarrass him.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Having just finished the phone call with Qiao Jinghua, he gave out a heavy sigh. Had she allowed them to enter her home, it would have been much easier to plan out, but it did not matter. They still had this mansion and he was familiar with this mansion, so the new plan should be much smoother.
Calling the newly changed number of Cao Yang, he thought through the plans that he made.
When Cao Yang finally answered his call, he said, "We have to change the plan to my mansion."
"Why," Cao Yang asked. "I thought we agreed on crashing her house."
"She won't tell me her address," he admitted.
"Can't we just use a hacker to find her address," Cao Yang asked.
"I think she's deliberately hiding it from me," he pronounced his thought.
"Aren't her brother," Cao Yang asked. "Her trusted brother."
"I am, but I think she's currently suspicious of me right now after telling you her penthouse address," he said.
Heaving a sigh, Cao Yang said, "Fine. What's the con about doing it in the mansion?"
"She's lived here for at least ten years. She knows every crevice of this mansion," he informed.
"What if we just knocked her out," Cao Yang suggested.
"How," he asked. "The party will be full of people. I don't want to tarnish my own reputation."
"Since it's your first birthday party, I'm sure she would be understanding of it if you only have a few people attend," Cao Yang said. "Isn't there that girl name Chang something that likes you? Invite her and tell her about our plan."
"No way," he refused. "What if she leaks it?"
"Qiao Guangli, are you stupid? The girl likes you so much, she could die. Can't you see from her eyes," Cao Yang asked.
"I do not feel good about using an outsider," he admitted.
"You don't feel good about using outsiders but you feel good about using your own sister," Cao Yang asked sarcastically.
"She is a different story," he stated. "I've helped her out so many times, this should be what she owes me."
Giving a loud laugh, Cao Yang said, "Just invite that Chang lady, and I will invite Gao Xiaohui."
"Why her," he asked with a frown on his face.
"Don't you know," Cao Yang said with a chuckle. "The girl likes me so much she even helps me sell drugs behind her parent's backs."
He did not know, nor did he want to know but he supposed that a girl as determined as that could definitely be helpful to their plan. Especially for the fact that Qiao Jinghua did not know Gao Xiaohui.
"So… Just these two women," he asked.
"Gao Xiaohui has a friend that is really overprotective of her. I have to also tell Yuan Wenling. If she doesn't know, our plans might come to ruins," Cao Yang admitted.
"So just these three girls, right," he asked with a strained voice.
"Just them," Cao Yang answered.
Done with asking who the "guests" were, he asked Cao Yang, "Who's going to knock her out?"
"Don't worry about that," Cao Yang reassured him. "My men can get that part done. I'll have them disguise as guests of your party. Wouldn't want her to freak out after all."
"I'm still worried," he said. "She knows martial arts. Her fighting is better than mine, to be honest."
"You should have told me that first," Cao Yang yelled out.
"You told me that you were confident of your even without my help," he quoted.
Calming down, Cao Yang said, "If you told me earlier, I would have been able to prepare better plans and not caught by her. Anyways, during the party, just make sure that she is as relaxed as she can be. We can knock her out much easier without her noticing."
After saying okay, he ended the phone call and heaved a sigh. He hoped that this time, the plan went as he wanted because the bet was getting closer and closer. He could not afford any more delay.
