Chapter 9: Assassin!
Chairman Ling's face twisted and turned violently as he tried to process Zero's words. Not only did he publicly declare that his grandson, a white grade potential student, Zhao Li is nothing compared to them!
What the heck?
His potential is even higher than that of Kira and Akila, yet Zero dared to say those words. Chairman Ling was infuriated but he could not refute Zero's words. If what Zero said was true, If these kids managed to completely stabilize their realm in just two days, wouldn't that mean Zhao Li who was still struggling with it could not be compared to them in any way?

"I refuse! This is impossible! I refuse to believe the four of you managed to stabilize your realms in two days! I knew your parents when they were still little… It took them two weeks to achieve this and they were considered peak geniuses of their time! How can you claim you achieved this in two days, there must be something wrong somewhere!" Chairman Ling could not hold it in anymore.

Zero's eyes turned purple and purple aura diffused from his body. As he has lost the effects of the awakening pills, his power output had drastically reduced but Zhao Ling could tell it was a level above that of his grandson Li.
As Zhao Li was also an emitter, a battle between emitters was purely dependent on the combatant's aura. The one who possessed a stronger aura is sure to win. Even without the awakening process and inhaling the spiritual enhancement pill, these four would have reached their current level in just a few more months of intense training. "Well then, we are just a step away from successfully creating our first combat technique, so we don't have time to waste… Let's get this over with quickly" Dan said impatiently.
This left the jaws of these people dangling freely. Not only did these kids stabilize their realm in just a few days, but they are also not too far away from creating their own first combat technique. They completed half a year's worth of training in just a couple of days.
This is completely terrifying!
"How can you all develop so fast?" Chairman Ling's bodyguard could not help but shudder in fear.
He couldn't understand how these kids could possibly improve so quickly, even the God sects twin masters couldn't grow so fast. If this continues, these kids will most likely reach their parent's levels in just a decade.
This is not something he wished to see!
"Is there a problem?" Zero's eyes narrowed as he could feel the hostility of the man. It was intense and ready to blow, but no one else could feel it.
The other three noticed Zero's fixed gaze on Zhao Ling's bodyguard and they quickly understood something was wrong. They were aware of Zero's innate sensory abilities and they knew he could never be wrong.
A four-star bodyguard. According to the ratings amongst bodyguards, all four kids assumed this man was a green belt martial art master with intermediate skills in a particular weapon mastery.

Out of the eight levels of martial art in this world, this man was at the fourth level! His strength is not something that can be overlooked. Even if they joined hands now to battle this man, the four of them will only end up dead if they make a single mistake!
The various chairmen and chairwomen in the room held their breaths, they could feel the hostility between the two parties and they guessed this bodyguard had ulterior motives other than serving chairman Ling. Even Ling understood this so he kept quiet and held his breath. He was a normal person with only skills in sword arts, if he were twenty years younger, he would have approached this guard fearlessly but it wasn't possible now.
As his age increased, his strength reduced. At his current level, he wasn't even sure he can take on these kids together! Time is really a curse!
"What if I do?" the four-star bodyguard sneered with a sinister smile.
This man had light skin complexion with a Mohawk haircut. His eyes were covered with black shades and the wide smile on his face revealed his golden tooth.
Where did chairman Zhao Ling get this tout?
The only thing professional about him was that he was dressed in a black tuxedo, even then his well-built physique could not be completely hidden. His hands slowly reached from his handgun holster and his eyebrows were slowly knitted together.
He remained attentive on his way here, the highest rating guards here were only three stars. This could be because the formal owners of the company were S rated guardians, they didn't see the need to hire high ranking bodyguards. Because of these silly mistakes, their descendants will die here and now!
"Then we will be forced to end your life here" Zero's gaze turned cold while he remained seated. The other three got on their feet and loosened their ties, while the chairmen and chairwomen retreated to on the corner of the room.
The only thing separating the two sides now was the twenty-meter long table at the center of the room. Should this battle take place here, this conference room will definitely not remain the same.

The other tree released their aura's of different colors as they prepared for battle. The company had a lot of three-star bodyguards, all they needed to do was hold out long enough for those at the lower levels of the seven story-building company to realize something is going on at the top floor and come to their aid.
This was the first time they were going to engage a powerful foe in a life and death battle. These four teenagers weren't scared, instead, they were excited. To them, this is just another hurdle they will need to cross to reach a higher realm.

The assassin quickly pulled out his favorite Sig P226, 9mm semi-automatic handgun and fired four times. Even though his movements were extremely fast and swift, he couldn't beat Zero who could utilize his powers just by thinking of it.

The purple barrier which Zero created dimmed each time the bullets crashed into it and Zero wore a pained expression on his face. His cold eyes were fixed on the assassin and his murderous intentions rolled out, feeling the room.
Since he possessed a weak body and really hated physical activities, he refused to leave his seat, he would remain here and serve as support for the other members of his team.

Dan, Akila, and Kira stormed towards the man instantly from three different directions. Their bodies were coated in a thin layer of their gray, brown, and red aura respectively and they charged towards the assassin fearlessly.
"You wish to face me at close range? How cocky are you kids?!" The assassin seemed to be pissed off so he roared.
Each time he shot at them, a purple barrier would immediately spring up into existence and defend them. Seeing the normal procedure was not working, the man decided to use his ultimate weapon in this battle.

His eyes locked on to the tan colored teenager in a yellow tuxedo. His instincts as a martial arts disciple made him feel like this body would be his greatest foe here so he decided to approach this kid first.

He shot forward like a rocket and appeared in front of the twenty-meter long table, with a single kick, he sent the table flying towards Akila fiercely.
"Haaaa!!" Akila roared and his right fist let out a brown glow as he struck at the incoming table with his bare fist, breaking it into two unequal parts.

The assassin appeared right in front of Akila while he was yet to recover fully from his last action. The sleeves of his suit exploded immediately and his bulging muscles filled with green colored veins appeared.
"Martial arts: Twin fist strike!" the assassin roared as he punched at Akila's chest with both hands.
In response Akila quickly redirected his brown energy and quickly reinforced his chest area, the muscles around his chest area began bulging and it threatened to rip his tuxedo apart, coupled with the thin purple barrier created by Zero!

Ever since the awakening effect settled down and his power stabilized, he found it hard to utilize his ability properly. Akila possessed his father's superpower called reinforce! This ability could be considered quite simple and straight forward like every other enhancer type abilities. It simply uses the spirit energy of the caster to enhance his body strength to a great level, thereby improving the user's explosive power drastically.
At this moment, Akila could only reinforce a certain part of his body at a time. Since he could not react to the attacks of his foe, he could only transfer his spirit energy to the part of his body being attacked to improve his defense. Apparently this wasn't enough, the purple barrier was shattered and the assassins fist slammed into Akila's chest. Akila was sent flying and he spat out a mouthful of blood as he violently rolled on the ground several times!
The strongest member of their team in terms of physical endowment was defeated with a single blow!
The faces of the other three turned pale and their expressions turned grim!
