"Our true purpose? How strong are these magic beasts you speak of?" The dark-haired chubby kid laughed. Even though he looked like any other regular fat kid, the darkness in his eyes was enough to tell others that he's not normal. He played with the black dagger in his hands as he spoke.
"Very… An E rated magic beast is strong enough to battle a D rated guardian, they are always capable of taking on foes a rank above them… Also, these monsters are of different species and possess various special features… Most times these added abilities are capable of changing the tide of battle if a guardian is reckless… Even as an A rated guardian, I'm not confident of taking on an A rated monster, I'll most likely end up dead…" Miss Lane explained softly.
"Since the safe zones possess some sort of barriers which prevent the beasts from entering… we have no reason to worry… It has kept the human race safe for centuries, right? Why bother ourselves with stuff like this?" Blitz said indifferently as he placed both legs on his desk and rested his head on his arms.
"The safe zone is not as simple as you think… Yes, the liberation union is surrounded by a barrier but this barrier is not necessarily the reason why we have been safe from these beasts… Do you think a mere barrier can stop an S rated magic beast from breaking into this little country of ours… The country uses a rare flower that we call the Beast bane flower…It releases some sort of odor that drives away high-level beasts…. that's B rating and above… Anything lower can ignore this… This is where we guardians play our part and defend the country from C rated magic beasts and below…." Miss Lane explained.
Hearing this, Zero finally understood a few things he has been unsure of for a while now. Firstly, he understood how scavengers gain cultivation materials. Since low-level monsters are quite abundant in numbers and their strengths are not something the guardians can take lightly numerous guardians are usually not motivated to risk their lives in a decisive battle against these strange beasts. For this reason, the government created the scavenger guild, where guardians not under any powerful organization can earn decent cultivation materials if they are willing to risk their lives a bit.
The guardians usually form groups when they decide to join the scavenger guild so as to increase their success rate. They then accept the numerous quests sent in by the government and once they complete their task and turn in the quest, they are rewarded. At this moment they were in desperate need of cultivation materials and they weren't willing to suck the Oscuro group dry just because of a few cultivation materials, the scavenger group was the next best thing, even if it's dangerous they had to do this, only through risky situations will a person with potentials actually shine.
The second issue was that he realized how difficult acquiring a territory outside the safe zone is. He finally understood why his parents didn't just dash out of the safe zone recklessly and slaughter any monster they saw. First of all, outside the safe zone were monsters capable of killing off their parents with a single strike if they are careless. An S rated monster is capable of taking on numerous S rated guardians at once and not falling into a disadvantaged position. If his parents were planning to acquire a territory, they would need to be familiar with the place and possible dangers, meaning a survey team has to be sent ahead first. And then they will also need a ton of beast bane flowers if they plan to keep the high-level beasts away after acquiring the territory.
And finally, they will need to have loyal followers. Guardians who will serve as guards and defend the miners from low-level beasts which can ignore the beast bane effects, while watching out for other groups who may try to forcibly take away their territories from them.
"The human race is quite in a disadvantaged position, yet we fight against ourselves and kill off those with great potentials for selfish reasons… Cute!" Dan laughed with a mysterious grin on his face while he spoke.
"I know the zones outside are given levels with color, starting from the least dangerous spots to the no go zones… The most dangerous places with high-level danger should naturally possess more recourses… Am I correct?" Zero rubbed his temple as he spoke thoughtfully.
"Yes… the danger levels are divided into five colors, green, yellow, brown, black, and red… in green threat level areas, only low-level creatures up to the C ratings can be found there… Yellow moves up to be B ratings, A rated magic beasts can be found at the brown threat level areas, S rated magical beasts can be found at the black rated areas and in the red rated areas, Only S rated magic beasts and above can be found in those places…" Miss Lane said.
"What's above the S ratings?… Since magic beasts use the same ratings as the guardians… So I want to know what's above the S ratings…" Akila asked
"Yea, why do most guardians avoid saying it… Is it a plague or something?" Dan snickered.
The other three laughed at his words as they waited for Miss Lane to speak, the other students were also interested in this as well, they were elites, kids destined to be the most important figures in the Liberation union, its only natural for them to be curious about the realm which no one in the Liberation union has ever entered.
"They call it the disaster realm or level… A level where one transcends to a level beyond the realm of mortals…. Only two people have achieved this level in the history of mankind…" Miss Lane's voice lowered as she spoke as if she was afraid of something or someone.
"The God sect!" Dan growled
"Hahahaha…. Interesting… Well then, I guess entering the disaster realm will our goal from now on… what do you guys think" Zero laughed cruelly while licking his lips
"If it's above the S ratings, it should be a bit difficult… It will take some time" Akila said thoughtfully.
"Yea, A few decades, but we will definitely get there" Kira grinned wildly while he spoke. His blood-red pupils released a red glow and his eyes narrowed.
Every person in the room was stunned by the way these kids spoke of entering the disaster realm as if it was so easy and can be achieved in just a few decades.
.................................…..
Somewhere in the sovereign federation, in an underground sacred hall, two men were seated on the bare floor, crosslegged. Their eyes were shut tightly and it looked like they weren't even breathing. No aura diffused from their body and at this moment they looked like ancient statues.
Suddenly their eyes yanked open and let out a terrifying golden light. They looked in the general direction of the Liberation union and a savage smile crept upon their faces.
"The four wings of the liberation union bore excellent descendants, not only do they have the potential to reach a profound level, but they also have the unbreakable fighting spirits their parents once possessed… I'm afraid they will be tougher to deal with than their parents…" One of them said.
"Humph… If we didn't receive grave injuries from their parents before their deaths, we would have reduced the liberation union to ashes… who would have thought those old men would use suicidal attacks at their final moments… If we didn't attack the kids and forced them to shift their attention to them, we would have died alongside them… Those four were crazy and now it seems like their kids are even more insane… They spit out our names as if it's nothing... It will take a decade for us to recover… we will have to rely on others to deal with these kids for us…" The second person said with knitted eyebrows.
