Chapter 18: Becoming a Scavenger (1)

The assassination attempt by the God sect twin masters may have been successful but they only achieved a goal after paying a heavy price. During the bloody war half a century ago, these two were the most powerful amongst S rated guardians in the continent and only the four wings of the liberation union could compare to them.

During the final battle of the great war, both sides clashed and to everyone's surprise, the twin masters were forced into a passive state in the battle. The super abilities of their enemies granted them tyrannical strength, allowing them to fight foes even above their levels. While some were offensive, one handled defense perfectly and the last one popped up and vanished like a ghost, dealing fatal damages each time he struck. In the end, the twin masters had no choice but to flee shamelessly. They acquired injuries that took them forty years to recover from and then dedicated the remaining ten years to cultivating, successfully breaking into the low tier disaster realm, at this level, they officially surpassed the level of mortals and became gods amongst men.

With their newfound strength, they assumed they would easily eradicate the four wings of the liberation union whose strength has reduced ever since they settled down and amassed wealth. But to their greatest surprise, when they attacked these four that night, they were once again forced into a passive state by these four men over 70 years! Those four poured out their all in that battle, risking their lives continuously just to land hits on them and no matter how much damage or pain was inflicted upon them, they all wore the domineering and ruthless grin as the fought, letting out wild laughter each time they got hurt! The twin masters had no choice but to turn their attentions on their heirs, only through this method could they gain the chance to strike death-dealing blows on these people while they were busy protecting their kids.

These faces of these four were imprinted in the hearts of these twin masters and they would never recover from the traumatic experiences.

Now they kept receiving new of the achievements of these four at such a young age, coupled with their insane potential and learning skills, the twin masters of the god sect could not help but feel anxious if given enough time to grow, these four will surpass their parents and at that time, there will be no place in this world where they can hide from them. Since they were gravely injured in their assassination attempt, they were rendered useless for another decade, making it fifty years of their lives have been wasted because of their rivals!

Even in death, those four old farts still caused so much trouble to them…

Right now, all they can do is depend on their connections within the liberation union. They can only hire assassins to deal with these kids.

Immediately the class ended Zero and the other drove to a remote part of the capital where the scavenger guild was located. The guild was positioned on the outskirts of city A, simply because of its size! It covered enough land required to build an estate and the place was filled with numerous guardians of various ratings.

The place was so huge that any person entering here for the first time would definitely get lost, luckily Zero and the other three had requested for information, prior their arrival, they already had a map so it wasn't difficult to find their way around. Since the scavenger guild was only accessible to those with superpowers, they couldn't bring along their guards with them.

The four of them strode down the roads of the scavenger guild under the gazes of numerous guardians but they weren't fazed by this. In their own opinion, these people were not at the same class as them, so they didn't even bother to spare these people a glance.

"Well, well, isn't it the wonder kids… What are you kids doing here? This ain't a place for students… Scram!" A brown-haired man screamed hastily.

At this point a three-story building was already in view and then the brown-haired man appeared, blocking their path. Akila's eyebrows furrowed as he stared at this man with clenched fists!

The man looked unkept and wreaked of alcohol, his black T-shirt looked tattered and his beards were bushy. His face was red and he was unable to stand at a spot, occasionally staggering.

"A D rated guardian…" Zero said with zero hints of interest in his eyes which remained fixed on the guardian badge attached to his shirt.

"Shall we kill him? Or maybe, break a few bones" Kira asked with an unusual bloodlust in his eyes. The others were startled by this as well and wondered when their cheerful friend became bloodthirsty.

"Naaa… Let's not steer up any trouble here… We will ignore him and avoid confrontations unless provoked" Zero said calmly and walked ahead.

Soon the four of them walked past the man and made their way into the building. At the extreme of the first floor was a counter with women dressed in uniforms there. The first floor was quite scanty as it was the registration floor while the second floor was where low-level missions are posted.

Zero and the other three walked straight to one of the ladies at the counter and spoke out.

"We will love to register a new scavenger group," Dan said to the lady with his normal enticing smile.

"Err… wh… But you guys are too young!" The red-haired lady naturally recognized these four with a glance.

They were the four bosses of the Oscuro group. The ones who have managed to defeat both a yellow belt martial arts practitioner and a green belt martial arts practitioner. They definitely had enough skill to take on an E rated guardian but still, they are too young and lacked enough experience like actual guardians. If anything were to happen to these important figures in the liberation union, her life and the scavenger guild will be ruined in one day!

Bam!

The entrance doors suddenly banged open and the brown-haired D rated guardian appeared. His eyes were bloodshot and his staggering worsened, his breathing was heavy and in his right hand was a bottle of beer. It was obvious he took a few more gulps and his emotions were heightened.

"Mister Dean, what is the meaning of…" the red-haired ladies' lips were blocked by Zeros pale-colored fingers.

"We are too young you said? I believe we should show you how qualified we are" A vicious smile appeared on Dan's charming face as he strode forward confidently towards the man.

"Don't kill him" Zero said indifferently.
