A black limo packed right in front of what looked like an ancient building that has been abandoned for close to a decade or more. Just by staring at it from outside, it looked like any other abandoned building but that was different for Zero and Dan whose six senses were running wild at the very moment.
It was screaming out Danger!!!
With furrowed eyebrows, Dan took a step forward and pushed his black and white hair back with his palms before speaking.
"I believe the dusk demon is still residing within this building… The information we acquired from that red-haired lady was quite accurate" Dan said calmly but in reality, all his hair stood up and two beads of sweat rolled down his forehead.
"Yea… It's way worse than what the lady described!" Zero was already soaked in sweat as he remained rooted to his spot while gazing at the duplex behind the steel gates.
Meanwhile, Kira and Akila remained ominous about the evil residing in that building. As Kira possessed martial arts skills of a yellow belt martial arts practitioner, he could barely feel the something strange residing in the building but he couldn't tell how dangerous it is.
Akila, on the other hand, had no idea of what was going on. He was the muscle of the team and lacked in almost every other aspect. His perception was one of them.
Apart from Zero who was born with natural insane sensory skills, the only reason Dan could tell how dangerous the low ranking monster was because of his phantom king ability which grants him ghost-like powers. The dusk demon was also considered a ghost type magic beast as it possessed powerful psychic abilities but possessed zero combat ability.
Its ability to manipulate the mind and hearts of its foes, pulling out their innermost desires and fears while breaking their will at the same time made it even deadlier than some higher ranking creatures.
There were a total of five red stamps on the quest poster which meant that five different teams have attempted this mission and they have all failed. In some cases, some members of the team ended up dead.
This was not a physical match, it was one which relied on a person's will power, something people lack these days…
Since the reward of the quest was not necessarily high since they were going against an E rated magic beast, most people chose not to even attempt it and picked D rated missions which are considered even better in terms of rewards and benefits.
"Well… it's just an E rated magic beast… let's just find it and put an end to it" Akila broke the silence causally and pushed the gates open and walked in.
"Yea… what are you guys so scared of… it's just an E rated monster… Akila is right too… even if it's based on will power, I'm pretty sure no one in the country can match in that aspect" Kira laughed as he walked in.
Zero and Dan only glanced at each other and nodded their heads, choosing not to push the matter even further. They silently followed these two behind while consciously glancing around.
Clank!
Screech!!
Akila yanked the door open and walked in boldly his eyes darted around the first floor the moment he entered and he was stunned by what he saw.
Whoever it is that once lived in this place was completely old school. This place was obviously decorated with the intention to recreate the medieval ages where knights and mages existed. The floor was completely covered with a red carpet and the walls of the first floor had numerous knight armors, properly stationed, and perfect eye-catching positions. Even these kids were stunned by how amazing this place looked.
On the first floor were two extra doors leading to the unknown while the stairs led to the second floor which is yet to be looked at.
"Zero, you and Dan should search this area while Akila and I will take the upper floor" Kira spoke casually.
Soon, Kira and Akila ran up the stairs without letting Dan and Zero reply. The two just stared at these people until their figures vanished from their line of sight before the spoke.
"Why are they unusually motivated today?" Zero asked with a confused expression on his face.
"I don't know… maybe they are trying to outshine us for the first time…" Dan giggled…
"Ha! They wish!" Zero chuckled and moved forward.
The went through all the portraits nailed to the wall and they were stunned to see that the previous tenants, took these pictures wearing ancient clothes which commoners wore during medieval times.
"You shouldn't look surprised… The dusk demon possesses psychic abilities… it can easily manipulate the thoughts and make them do crazy stuff like that… For a place which has been abandoned for more than a decade, its really clean" Dan said as he brushed his fingertips against numerous furniture surfaces but it all looked clean.
"Maybe the dusk demon loves cleaning" Zero giggled and walked past Dan, heading straight towards one of the two doors leading to other sections of the first floor.
Immediately he entered, his nostrils were invaded by a foul odor and he instinctively retreated backward but the doors behind him were shut tight.
"Huh? You chose to take me out first? How bold!" Zero laughed with a vicious grin on his face and his purple aura diffused from his body.
He quickly turned to the door, planning to bust it open but it was no longer there. At this moment, he realized he was in his king-sized room back at the villa and the room was set on fire. He knew this thing was not real, but he could feel the heat so well that he was forced to move.
Zero ran towards the exit and just like that night, he ran through the blazing corridor, arriving at the massive parlor in just a few seconds.
"Come out… Let's get this thing over with!" Zero said impatiently as he stared at the spot where the yellow belt assassin was meant to appear.
Just like he expected, a figure soon appeared, he had a large Afro and was dressed in an all-black martial arts attire with a yellow belt strapped around his waist.
"To think you will see through my concealment technique… You're really something!" A hoarse voice echoed all over the room and a black figure danced around the room, closing in on Zero with each step he took.
Bang!
"Tiger Claw Strike!" The hoarse voice resonated from behind and with a loud bang, his tiger claw fist struck hard against a turtle shell and it felt like his fists struck against a solid wall…
"Aaahhh!" The man cried out in pain as he retreated. Clutching his bloodied and disfigured fist tightly.
"You are an eyesore!" Zero's eyes let out a purple light and a turtle shell dome appeared around the man.
Seeing this the man screamed in fear and repeatedly struck the barrier with fearful eyes. But he couldn't leave a scratch.
While the man struggled, Zero was distracted by some thoughts. According to the actual events that took place, Dan and the other two appeared at this very moment to aid him. But now, he could clearly feel the aura's of Dan, Akila, and Kira, rushing towards the main Villa's entrance where their parents are battling the god sects twin palace, masters! This meant that these three were also pushed into this world, they weren't fakes like the others in this world.
"I don't have time to waste on you! Get crushed!" Zero roared and the dome gradually shrank until the man was reduced to a meat paste.
He quickly lept out of the massive hole on the wall of the living room, free-falling from the fifth floor of the massive villa!
"This time! This time!! I'll save you all!!" Zero roared with reddened eyes, forgetting that all of this was just an illusion.
