"Chill… It's dead…" Dan finally spoke after observing Zero for a while. His pupils were concealed by a silver light and his hair was completely white. A strange gray misty aura diffused from his body, this will normally terrify other people but these three were already used to this oppressive aura.
Compared to the original phantom king, this is nothing.
"I see… we should be off then… Let's turn in the quest" The rage suddenly changed to indifference as Zero spoke.
It was as if another person took over. His aura returned to normal and the glowing energy around his body vanished.
For some reason, Zero felt greatly weakened as he staggered forward and fell on Akila's broad chest. His head was a bit fuzzy and his vision blurred slightly. He felt a sharp stinging pain all over his joints.
"This must be a backlash for using my aura to temporarily strengthen my body" Zero muttered slowly.
"Yo! Are you alright?" Kira placed his hand on Zero's shoulder while he spoke.
"What you did back there… was similar to my reinforcement ability… Being able to strengthen your limbs with your aura… how did you do it?" Akila asked with a slight frown on his face.
"I don't know… it just happened…" Zero shook his head slowly as he responded weakly.
His face was unusually pale, seeing he could barely stand the other three knew he had suffered greatly in whatever mysterious illusion he was thrown into.
They decided to let the matter slide and didn't ask more questions. The dusk demon was considered a rare magic beast with powerful psychic abilities, it was only rated E because of its weak body. Almost anyone can kill it as long as they found the body, even normal humans without any cultivation can do this.
After Zero fell into the magic beasts illusion, Dan went to check on him since he had stayed in the storage room for too long. Yanking the wooden door open, he saw a snow-white ghastly creature which had the form of a weird-looking bird with four wings and one large eye trying to penetrate the one layer purple turtle shell dome protecting Zero. Its body was so weak that it couldn't penetrate!
When the beast realized that a second person had arrived, it quickly retreated and cast an illusion based spell on Dan. At first Dan panicked, but after he realized that the gray mist diffusing from his body was preventing the psychic wave from reaching him, he was overjoyed and quickly pounced on the beast.
The dusk demon may possess amazing psychic abilities but its physical attributes were close to zero. Not only did it lack strength and stamina, but it also lacked speed. Even a five-year-old would be able to outrun that beast. It only took Dan a few seconds to deal with it and after this, the magic beasts body turned into a white powder and dispersed.
............…........................
Zero was dropped at home to rest. After observing him throughout the journey, they found nothing unnatural about his condition and assumed he was just tired both physically and mentally, so they dropped him off to rest.
Apart from Zero, the team returned unscathed! This was a stunning achievement. In reality, the team only managed to complete this task because of Dan's newfound immunity to psychic attacks. If it weren't for this ability which enabled them to tackle the major problem of the mission, they would have failed like the others. If the other teams had someone with similar abilities, they would have completed this quest a long ago.

Bam!
"Completed… it wasn't so tough… our reward!"
Kira energetically slammed the quest poster on the counter as he spoke to the red-haired Lady with a hint of pride in his eyes. Dan and Akila could only hide their faces with their hands as they felt slightly embarrassed by this.
"You actually did it?" The red-haired lady spoke slowly as she tried hard to process what Kira just said.
"Easy…" Kira patted his chest with a wide grin on his face.
Bam!
Akila's fist smacked Kira's head as he dragged him aside with a reddened face, giving Dan enough space to step in and continue the conversation.
"How did four kids defeat the dusk demon?" The lady ignored the drama going on and directed her question to Dan.
"Apparently, my resistance towards mental attacks is quite high thanks to my specialist ability…. The demon dusks illusion could not affect me in anyway… so it wasn't difficult for me to end its life" Dan's eyes revealed a silver light as he spoke.
"And its corpse?" The Lady asked with narrowed eyes.
"When I killed it, the dusk demons body turned into a white powder and dispersed… I still don't understand why it happened that way though" Dam answered truthfully
Only after the lady heard this did she breathe in. The dusk demon was a very rare kind of magic beast that appears only once in a while, so people are not very familiar with it. Anyone can claim to have killed the beast but no one who has not witnessed this can tell how the beast dies. Seeing this, she took the mission poster from Dan and used a green stamp on it.
"You guys were four… where is the white-haired kid?" Only now did she notice Zero was missing.
"Zero was unlucky and got hit by the beasts illusions… He's worn out so we let him rest…" Dan explained impatiently.
