Chapter 46: The system (2)

"I agree" Akila quickly agreed to Zero's words. He too once believed that Alfred was just a mere three-star rated bodyguard but from all that just happened so far. He couldn't deny the fact that his previous idea's about their security team leader was false.

"We should leave, young masters… I know you all must be confused by the current situation but I can assure you, I will provide the answers you need as soon as we return…young master Kira is in need of medical attention" Alfred bowed respectfully as he spoke. But unlike before, Zero and the other three did not feel pleased by this, instead they felt intimidated by him.

All this while, they refused to acquire higher rated bodyguards not because they couldn't afford to get one but because of their upbringing. They were trained to believe that rely on someone stronger than yourself cripples a person's growth. They only accepted Alfred for two reasons

1) The company recommended him

2) He was just a three-star rated bodyguard.

These four were well aware of their capabilities and their limitations, when joining forces they were sure they could overwhelm any three-star rated bodyguard. So they really had no use for Alfred, he was just there because it will be strange for billionaire kids not to possess bodyguards.

"Yea… I believe we should go… we have wasted too much time here and we have drawn too much attention" Dan quickly agreed to Alfred's offer without a second thought, making Alfred heave a sigh of relief.

He was expecting these kids to reject his offer and insist on killing the black-haired kid. He expected to meet some resistance and spend sometime pleading with them but they didn't do any of that. Instead, the three youths had already calmed down and through mere observation, they could tell something was off. They couldn't let their anger get the better of them and make them do something stupid.

"Yea we will leave… But just for the record, Miss Lane… You and this academy has made an enemy out of the Oscuro group by protecting that kid… We always know how to deal with our enemies!" Zero said with the same indifferent look on his face before leaving with the others. As important as revenge is, it wouldn't hurt to take a step back and assess the situation before diving in headfirst.

Under the gaze of many, the four prodigies and their security team left the colossuem, leaving the guardians to prepare themselves for the worst. Miss Lane remained still, unable to move while she cursed her bad luck mercilessly. She still couldn't understand how protecting the nation's assert landed her in trouble with the sons of the most powerful S rated guardians in the history of this country.

...........................….

The journey back home was quick and painful. Only after they left the arena did Zero and Akila realize how damaged their hands were and how much pain they were able to ignore due to their rage. By the time they returned they were welcomed by their medical team which Alfred already informed beforehand.

According to their diagnosis, Zero and Akila's hands suffered severe damages, luckily their bones were not damaged, all it needed was the attention of two medical workers with healing abilities and in just a few hours their injuries were completely healed but they felt extremely tired, sleeping off midway into the healing process.

Meanwhile, Kira's condition was slightly more severe but it wasn't fatal. Kira was always considered a monster amongst the others but compared to his opponent today, he was no different from a normal human. Dan had never seen Kira been pressured badly by a single foe, to the point where each blow the opponent hit completely shattered his bones, making Dan wonder how powerful that kid was and the funny part was that the kid only utilized martial arts.

Even though Dan and the rest barely paid attention to others unless deemed noteworthy, he knew the academy was solely for people with special abilities. The fact Miss Lane called the kid a student meant he must have some sort of special ability which he didn't even bother to use in that battle.

"He was either dumb or just confident in his strength…. The fact he didn't reveal his special power when the four of us joined hands against him makes me wonder if we would have won if we actually fought him seriously… was that bastard holding back on us?" Dan was outraged by his discovery but he decided not to bother the others with this. They all required a good rest, so did he.

It didn't take long before all four slept off in the living room, not bothering to move to their rooms. Alfred could only stand in a corner and watch the four of them with mixed emotions in his eyes.
