Chapter 53: To die, I guess!

Walking down the great halls of the academy felt a bit different than usual for the four heirs of the Oscuro group, they were used to being the center of attention but not this way. Not only were the eyes of everyone pinned on Kira but the countless side talks, murmurs, and whispers that reached their ears made it almost unbearable. The situation was worse for Zero who could feel the joint emotion of all these people, spite, hate, joy, disdain.

All of them! He could feel it all and this made him feel like his head was spinning, he could barely control himself but he had to for Kira's sake.

The team put in a lot of effort just to keep a straight face as the took the left turn, heading towards the administration's office. The hall was way too spacious, yet the other students of different classes and years avoided them like a plague, creating enough space at the center of the hall for everyone to watch them and gossip about them. Apparently, the news of Kira's humiliating defeat at the hands of Shi Jia had spread like wildfire and at the current moment, people were streaming the footage of their short battle online, watching Shi Jia 'bully' Kira in the arena. They all had one question on their lips but no one had the guts to step up and ask.

Weren't the descendants of the four wings of the liberation union meant to be the strongest? The ones to replace and surpass the greatest S rated guardians of all time? Then how did an unknown character pop up from nowhere and surpassed them?

While many agreed that the Shi Jia was probably only stronger than Kira, the other three may be able to defeat him but others called the heirs of the Oscuro group shameless, for not only disrupting the battle between Shi Jia and Kira but also ganging up on him. It was obvious, Zero, Akila, and Dan had the intentions of joining hands to kill the unknown character and if Miss Lane and other academic staff hadn't arrived when they did, the talented youth would have been dead by now.

While Zero and the others felt like the world had turned against them, they were unaware of the massive support they received amongst the elderly who lived through the bloody war between the liberation union and the sovereign federation. The four wings of the liberation union, also known as the greatest S rated guardians of all time could be considered as one of the main reasons why the war ended and probably the only reason why the liberation union did not fall. They protected countless of lives, saved families, and single-handedly repelled numerous assaults from the God sects twin palace masters. The youths may not have known them, but the elders amongst them would never forget. They all wished to see their four heirs grow to become even stronger guardians and avenge their death, for that reason alone, they were not willing to let an unknown character come and shame Zero and his group.

But even then, these people could not deny the fact that Kira was destroyed in that battle. The video of their short battle had already gone viral and it was clear Kira was not Shi Jia's match. In fact, most of the battle was just Kira trying to keep Shi Jia away. Even to the point where he used his special ability carelessly, hurting himself in the process.

At this point, they realized it wasn't a battle, but a one-sided beat down!

"You don't have to worry about what these weaklings think… all you have to do now is stay focused on strengthening yourself… when the time comes, you will get your chance to fight against Shi Jia, if you are still too weak to face him, I will be the one to kill him and you will forever lose the chance to redeem yourself" Zero's words were not kind but it was effective.

Upon hearing this and seeing the others nod in agreement, Kira could only push the embarrassment aside and move forward with his head held high. They weren't sure why the school administration body for the first years had summoned them but they were sure it was most likely because of the Shi Jia issue. Even though Alfred pleaded to escort them, they still refused. From here on out this was a problem they had to resolve on their own.

After a two-minute walk they finally reached the center of the hall and by their right was a large door with the tag 'Conference lounge' boldly written above it. Zero was about to reach for the door but then a familiar feeling invaded his body and his body quickly reacted by releasing a large outburst of pure spirit energy.

"What the fuck is he doing here?" Kira growled as his eyes let out a red flash of light.

"To die I guess!" Zero said with a voice filled with disdain and venom as he took large strides towards the youth he has sworn to kill.
