Chapter 65: Killing intention or Illusion?

Even within the room Zero could feel the hostile intentions target at him. He didn't know who or what it was but the next moment his eyes turned purple, blazing with his spirit energy as he looked towards the camera with a deadly serious expression.

Zero's sudden change in mood stunned everyone, forcing Shi Jia to jump off his bed and take a fighting stance while the man in white and the lady in black took a step back in shock. Even though they were watching Zero through a monitor, the lady in black could tell the hostility was directed at her and for the first time since she became a guardian, she retreated a bit trembling in fear. Countless thoughts flooded her mind and countless questions followed as well.

How did he know my intentions towards him?

How could he feel my killing intent all the way from here?

How does he even know I am the one responsible for it?

Is he really human?

The lady gripped her head as she retreated even further. At this moment the world had turned purple and countless Zero's with blazing purple eyes, in a white hospital gown attire, walked towards her. She kept retreating in fear and even though she wished to scream, she couldn't make a sound. This continued until she hit something hard behind and the illusion faded. Only then did she realize she was already covered in sweat and her partner was staring at her with a strange look in his eyes.

"An illusion…" He muttered and the lady in black nodded.

He saw his partner's strange actions and chose not to interfere just to confirm his suspicions. Somehow Zero had managed to cast an illusion on his partner just by looking at a camera. If he were to tell anyone this, they probably wouldn't believe him.

Going through Zero's file once again, Zero's only notable abilities were Spirit energy manipulation and Reinforcement special ability which was acquired only recently. There was nothing on illusion capabilities in his file, leaving the man in white confused.

He began reviewing what happened once again, but this time he scrapped out the possibilities of Zero casting an illusion.

"If it wasn't an illusion, then did he make her hallucinate using just his killing intent?" the man in white muttered while rubbing his forehead.

Making a weaker foe hallucinate using one's killing intent is not something rare in their world and in numerous occasions the strong use this to suppress the weak. The possibility of Zero achieving something like this seemed quite possible since his mental capabilities are way higher than that of any normal person. Considering the fact he was able to push himself to the limit and beyond just with sheer will also back up this possibility in the mysterious man's mind, leaving him with no choice but to accept this as the only possible explanation.

"You know… If this kid is this capable at such an age… then he will truly become a monster when he gets older… So this is what it means to be a disaster realm candidate? Interesting!" The man chuckled lightly while wiping off a bead of sweat rolling down his forehead.

Back in the room Zero finally calmed down and laid down once again, unaware of the illusion ability which the dusk demon had cast on his aggressor. The dusk demon on his own part didn't feel like informing Zero of his actions either. To it, this was a thank you gift to Zero for agreeing to keep his identity a secret.

"What the hell was that for man? First, you start speaking to yourself and the next second you go full terminator mode… are you sure you don't want the doctors to check you out for mental issues?" Shi Jia complained

Only after he spoke did they realize he was still there. Looking at him Shi Jia didn't look as flustered as the two guardians watching them, instead, he only seemed pissed by Zero's sudden actions and at a point, it looked like he was even considering beating the crap out of him.

"Are all disaster realm candidates this strong at a young age? They are monsters" The lady in black mutter. She was yet to fully recover from the traumatizing experience Zero had given her.

"What are you talking about… First I am not crazy… it's none of your business if I speak to myself… Second, someone somewhere in this building was thinking ill of me… the person is probably watching us right now… I felt the person's malicious intentions so I returned the favor… that's just a warning… I am no pushover" Zero replied while pointing at one of the cameras positioned at one of the four corners of the room.

Surprisingly Shi Jia was yet to notice these cameras until now. Even worse, he was forced to wonder how Zero was able to feel someone's killing intentions all the way from here.

"Hehehe, You are really a monster" Shi Ja let out a vicious smile as he spoke those words.

And then….

Boom!

The lights turned off!
